The guy running the place is amazing--super cool, friendly, and always makes you feel welcome. I also really appreciate how clean he keeps everything. He's always wearing a hairnet and you can tell he takes pride in how he runs his kitchen. As for the food, everything I've tried has been good. The chicken tandoori is packed with flavor and definitely one of my favorites. And the mango lassi? Exceptional. That's a must every time. I'm not gonna lie, after coming back again and again, Punjabi Kitchen might honestly be one of the best Indian food spots in the city. Great food, great service, and the kind of place you actually want to support. Definitely give this one a try.

The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. The string lights and music playing bring some liveliness to a somewhat boring area. I always see people eating at the benches of the nextdoor business; however there is not any designated seating provided. Favorites: Dal, tandoori chicken, samosas, egg curry, mango lassi

Long Beach does farmers markets well and Harvest at Bixby Park is no exception…read more This farmers market is practically coastal. It takes place at a beach-side park and features everything you could need to stock up for the week. Most recently I've seen bagels, donuts, hummus, sauces, meats, dog treats, live music, empanadas, juices, veggies, fruits, and more. I love that the majority of their vendors are hyper local. You'll discover fan-favorite businesses here like Solis and Devi's Donuts that you won't find outside of the Long Beach foodie scene. The best part? This farmers market is dog friendly! Practically unheard of. The widespread outdoor environment is perfect for your furry friend. There's also a lot of trees, shaded areas, and grass, so you can instantly dive into your collection of locally made goodies picnic-style.

We happened to walk by and noticed a good amount of tents were set up and walked over to see what it was about. Well it's another farmers market. It's not too big but it does offer a lot of produce vendors and food vendors. It's is pet friendly as it's in the park. One side is where the produce is. Loads of nice fresh and beautiful fruits and vegetables. Farm fresh eggs also available. They do have a good amount of vendors selling gifts and trinkets. You have apparel, there's a cute pet vendor and more. The side where the stage is with a live band is where all the food vendors are located. There's been pizza, bagels, made to order meals as well as seafood vendors. There's quite a good amount on food. With the stage being there, they alway had a live band performing and keeping people entertained. Dancing happens which is a nice way to get people to enjoy themselves. It's a pretty cool market but parking is limited as it's alway pretty busy at the park.

One might wonder, "well what's so special about a hotdog" or even think that is they've had one hotdog they've had them all, but I assure you that this will be the best hot dog you've ever had. First boiled, then split and barbecued, the hot dogs are full of flavor and offer a smokey taste in each bite. I highly recommend giving them a try, even if you're not usually into hotdogs, you won't be disappointed, especially for the price. That's this critic's review, until next time I'll be eating.

Wow!…read moreDarrell delivers every week without fail, and when he runs out of brats, any one of his other links/dogs is just as good. Doesn't hurt that he is a nice guy that is happy to chat while he cooks your stuff. Quick story, I flew red eye from Oakland to LAX and then took the Long Beach Flyaway to DTLB and there he was ... The Dog! Stunned in hungry disbelief I look around the cart in disbelief ... "It has been a block from my work this whole time!?!?" I am sure Darrell would have thought I was crazy had I not been getting his food for months now. Needless to say, finding his usual spot saved my morning. You would be hard pressed to find any worthwhile lunch options for $4-6 in Downtown Long Beach, but The Dog delivers and stands a cut above other lunch specials. Cooked perfectly to order and split down the middle, The Dog's dogs are the best.

After waiting over an hour, we still only received about half of our order. About 40 minutes into the wait, I was told they were out of chicken, which meant I never received the chicken and waffles I ordered. I also never received my baked beans. I understand that restaurants can run out of items, but I wish we had been told much sooner instead of waiting that long. What makes this even more disappointing is the amount of money we spent, and as you can see from our receipt, we tipped very well. We came in wanting to support the business and have a good experience. Unfortunately, between the long wait, missing food, and the quality of what we did receive, I honestly don't feel the experience was worth the money. We were also visiting from out of town and specifically chose this place, so it was disappointing to spend such a large part of our visit waiting for food we ultimately didn't receive. I really feel that some type of refund or compensation should have been offered, especially for the items we paid for but never received. I do want to be fair and mention that they gave us complimentary water and banana pudding, which we appreciated. However, it didn't make up for waiting over an hour and not receiving our complete order. Would I come back? Maybe, but only once things are more organized and structured. I really wanted to enjoy and support this place, but this experience was just too much. For the amount of time and money we spent including leaving a generous tip I expected much better.
