Yummy!!! "Lemon Falls Cafe" is a cute little breakfast/lunch on the corner in downtown Chagrin Falls, Ohio. It's a little out of the way, and since most folks are looking for a full scale restaurant they walk right by... BIG MISTAKE! All the locals are in the know though. That's where you'll find them. Upon entering you are faced with a counter filled with and covered by all the wonderful foods and treats you could ask for. Many display the "Blue Ribbons" they were awarded at the Geauga County Fair; and they are well deserved. We stopped in for breakfast this morning. I ordered a blueberry scone with a large cappuccino. My wife got the breakfast wrap and a cup of coffee. We sat in the window of this cute little establishment, thoroughly enjoying our treasures, and just enjoyed the coming of spring. The entire time we were there locals hand in hand with spouses, some pushing strollers, and others with toddlers in tow, all came and went with wonderful treats for their morning. Lemons Falls is a cute little eatery in downtown Chagrin Falls. It is located on a corner. With construction right now it is a little harder to access from one side of downtown. There is a closed sidewalk. They have a nice seating area both outside and in. Seating is somewhat limited inside. They take counter orders and bring you food to the table. Lemon Falls has award winning pastry from the county fair. They also have a large menu. We ordered the vegan soup, lobster roll and short rib sandwich. The lobster roll was market price and was very heavy on the lettuce. The short rib sandwich was delicious and the soup was very good as well. The staff were friendly and helpful. read more

After run club today we were looking for a breakfast place. We lucked into lemon falls. What very cool cozy small town type of feel cafe! I got espresso and a fried egg sandwich. Both very good. It has breakfast and lunch options. With various Togo take out options too. Also fun fact they won first place for their blueberry muffin in the Geagua county fair! Enjoyed this place! One of my favorite places to go when I'm in town from California. Fresh amazing food! My daughter loves to grab a big ole bag of angel hair pasta to cook at home. An 80 year old Italian lady makes it by hand! Even the Brussels sprouts are to die for. Yes, that's a picture of my 9 year old eating Brussels sprouts immediately after we got home. The scones are our fav, and so is the egg salad sandwich and if you're lucky enough for breakfast, the egg with prosciutto on top. Excellent job! I read the negative reviews, and they basically sound like an employee was having a rough day, and someone not understand that free samples don't mean take as many as you want. Disappointing experience. I won't be returning. I really wanted to like Lemon Falls, especially given the charming location in Chagrin Falls, but unfortunately the experience was very underwhelming. Too bad because I was really looking forward to lunch. The service is the main reason for which I won't return. I ordered dine in order at the cafe - chicken tarragon sandwich, Americano, and chicken noodle soup. I was served Americano and my soup. I sat and waited for my sandwich for at least 30 minutes. I observed that some tables were getting second and third food deliveries to their tables. When everyone in the dining area who arrived after me received their order, I went to the counter to inquire about my order. The cafe only has only 5 tiny tables so I was surprised that I was overlooked. I was told that a refund will be issued because my order must have been lost. The manager (I assume he was because everyone was asking him questions) was standing right next to the counter and there was no reaction from him at all. I was quite surprised that another order could not be made. I just haven't seen any cafe handle an order and an experience so poorly. I was very much looking forward to lunch and trying a new place, it was a very sad, inattentive, and strange experience. In terms of food, the menu is pretty extensive with breakfast, lunch, and coffee options. Cases are also filled with various goodies if you don't wish to order from the menu. The menu is almost an exact replica of Stone Oven bakery menu. Here's the comments about the food that I've tried. I had to agree to an Americano because there was no regular coffee or pour over or anything similar. That was ok. Americano was very diluted and bland, not something that I'd expect from a coffee shop. The staff kept proudly saying to the guests that everything is homemade, but the chicken noodle soup wasn't. The base of it tasted like over salted Knorr mix where someone added some chicken pieces. It was not a well proportioned Knorr base, it tasted completely artificial. I appreciated the chicken pieces but the rest of it was not good. Potentially other items on the menu are better. The ambiance felt cramped and noisy - definitely not the relaxing café vibe I was expecting. Although the cafe combines a small market, bakery, and coffee shop into one. I sat a table that was right by the door where everyone seemed to arrive within inches of me. It was awkward. With so many great spots in Chagrin Falls, I'd recommend skipping this one. Hopefully they can turn things around, but for now, it's a pass from me. read more

Sauces, coffees, condiments, etc., are for sale. Lunches and pastries are homemade and everything is fresh and delicious. Ask for GF or vegan choices. I had a slice of lemon pound cake, and it was real lemony and wonderful! My friend really liked the Mighty Leaf brand of hot tea. There are a few tables. Food is fantastic. Come here for the chili or the wedding soup. They have great sandwiches small plates, salads and like I said go for the soup. They also offer small gifts and treats, cookies or rice crispy treats. It's very cute inside although they don't really have a lot of sitting and during lunch the line can be long. Delicious spot right in the heart of Chagrin Falls! The outside of Lemon Falls has a small town restaurant feel & the inside welcomes you with amazing smells. We ordered the lobster roll and then the short rib sandwich - talk about amazing!! The short rib sandwich melted in my mouth. My boyfriend loved his lobster roll and said it was very filling. We sat at the little tables they have available outside. Only downside was parking- we had to find a spot a couple blocks down, but we were able to discover other great spots to stop in on the way back to the car. read more

Glad for the avocado toast and oatmeal as we are vegans. We had the compote with the oatmeal but the compote was very sweet. It probably had a lot of sugar added to it? I would suggest people order fresh fruit for the oatmeal. The latte and chai tea were fine but seemed lacking in flavor. However, again, we were thankful for the plant-based options. I took my mom, who is 83, out for an early Mother's day lunch at Lemon Falls in Chagrin Falls. I chose it because they had lobster rolls on the menu and she loves them. It one of those places where you order at the counter, pay, add your tip and they bring the food to your table. So, $75 for 2 lobster rolls, 1 bag of chips and 1 soda. The food was good. They have pre-made foods also and mom wanted to purchase a sandwich to go. While she paid for this at the register after we ate, there was a sample plate with crumbled muffin pieces. She ate one, liked it and went to take a 2nd sample, the woman at the register scolded her (mom's words) and said "only 1 per customer!" My mom was embarrassed and felt as though she was being shamed over a muffin sample. We had just spent ~$100 there. While the food was good, we will never return or recommend to others. Stopped by Lemon Falls after we already had a big breakfast, and got a lobster roll. The price was a bit high ($26), but it was tasty. The bun was potato bread (I think), and that's what made it sooo good. It was warmly toasted, slightly sweet, and really soft. They give you a lot of lobster for the price, and also a lot of lettuce which is a new for me. It was more like a lobster version of a chicken salad sandwich, but hey, it was good. Amazing. Went to this place on Saturday with the Family. Ordered a fried egg sandwich, a Coffee, and a blueberry scone. The scone just came out of the oven and was the best scone I have ever had. It was warm, and the blueberries were a little gooey, and 100% delicious. The fried egg sandwich was good. I love a good Americano and theirs was pretty good. The family also loved the scone. This was the first scone my son ever had. So basically he will compare every other scone he has in the future to this one. It really isn't a bad problem to have. The bill wasn't expensive for 3 coffees, 3 sandwiches, and 2 scones. Good value, good service, great food. I will be back. read more

Lemon falls is a lovely hidden yet not so hidden gem in Chagrin falls. I happened to be in the area and was told I absolutely had to try their house made lemonade. It did not disappoint. It may be the best lemonade I've ever had. Pretty hard to find a lemonade that's thirst quenching and doesn't make you more thirsty. It indeed does just that. I also had their gazpacho which was amazing as well. Wonderful place for a grab and go meal. Staff is always friendly and goes above and beyond. Plenty of healthy options. **UPDATING REVIEW FROM A 2 to a 1 STAR REVEW** Sadly, less than 24 hours after writing this review, I am changing my review from a 2 to a 1 because the business owner felt compelled to write me a "compliment" (which for the record, the business owner should never do). The message appears to have been written when they were possibly intoxicated because it only makes partial sense. But they "corrected" me about the bacon stating it was prosciutto and then said they "don't serve fast food." Which if you look at my review, I never said I wanted fast food, just more options. I found this message to be very unprofessional and I have included a snapshot of it in the review. I will certainly not be returning. If it's one thing I cannot stand, it's business owners acting immature and unprofessional on Yelp. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I was in Chagrin Falls for a wedding and there was a 3 hour gap between the ceremony and the reception. Luckily, my sister and her husband offered to meet me for a late lunch after the ceremony to help pass time. They were more familiar with the area and recommended this place. I knew I'd be starving at 2p, so I told them I'd be up for whatever. I guess I thought this place would have more than just salads and cold sandwiches and soup. I found their menu to be limited for those who aren't in the mood for a salad. I opted for the egg salad sandwich and a bag of chips. All in all, I felt like the food took too long to come out for a place like this (keep in mind, I was STARVING!). My sister and her husband got their food before me (and were 3 spots behind me in line). I ate the entire bag of chips before my sandwich even came out. Also, there was bacon on the sandwich, which wasn't listed on the menu board. And it wasn't even strips of bacon or bacon bits, just little one inch chunks of it on the sandwich. I didn't even realize it was there until I bit into it. I could have done without the bacon. And the egg salad was just "meh." All in all, this place didn't do it for me and it's not a place I'd go back to. Even as we were walking out, my sister and her husband started naming other places we should have gone to instead. I have gone a number of times for a morning coffee and snack. The people working there have been invariably nice and the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. My two gripes: 1) too much plastic - plasticware is given even if you don't want it, and disposable cups are the default when you order coffee, so you have to be loud and clear that you want a mug, not landfill fodder (and sometimes, even this is not sufficient - you get disposable anyway) 2) the breakfast pastry selection is overly sweetened and there are no savory options read more

I've lived in the area for over 10 years and I've never been to this place. Not sure why, was under the assumption that the hours were pretty limited. I passed Starbucks and a few other well known places today bc I love to support independent owned businesses. PROS: very clean, healthy food, lots of windows, very cool retail offerings of gourmet and specialty food items. Clean bathrooms. CONS: it's 85° out July 3 and it's warm in here! I don't know if the air conditioning is broken or they just have it on low to save money but I was hoping for a little more chill in the air, very loud when busy, the coffee wasn't good, they have plastic straws by coffee creamer. I wasn't pleased w my greeting or the person taking my order. I was hoping for a more intimate experience from such a local icon. NET: This place is too cute to pass up. Lemon Falls was a pleasant surprise on my visit to the greater Cleveland area. As a Californian that enjoys my fair share of healthier foods I was happy to see that Lemon Falls has a lovely mix of healthy, delicious, and gluten-free foods to choose from. On this visit I ordered the kale chicken caesar salad and the white bean turkey chili to share with my mom. We also got a side of toasted gluten-free bread. All three items were absolutely delicious and ample in portion size. The employees were so helpful in explaining what things were, and they accommodated our visit just 15 minutes before closing time. Each nook of this location that is a short walk from the Chagrin Falls has an interesting item to try. From the stuffed peppers, to the parfaits, to the gluten free pizzelle cookies, and Bundaberg ginger beer this location has something for everyone. When I return to the Cleveland area I will do my best to stop by again. Also best of luck to the future Pitzer student!! read more

My wife wanted a lobster roll for her birthday dinner & there aren't many good options in Cleveland. After searching on Yelp we decided to try Lemon Falls and it did not disappoint. The rolls have large chunks of lobster and just the right amount of seasoning and sauce. The bread/roll was also fresh and nicely grilled. It's not a big cafe, maybe seats 16 people, but was not crowded so we were able to find a spot. Ordered at the counter (the service attendants were just Ok, 3 stars for service). Charming cafe with delicious bakery items, hearty breakfast wrap, premade food and sandwiches Today is the second day that I stopped for breakfast. I got the breakfast wrap and it was soooo good. I tried the breakfast sandwhich today and is was equally good. I purchased packaged pizzelles and they were really delicious. Tasted homemade. They had anise which are my favorite. I also got a blueberry scone for my spouse and he said it was really good. I am looking forward to trying the lobster roll and will update my review once I tried the lunch options. Oh, they also have biscuits for your pup which I got for my favorite pup and she ate them immediately and she is pretty picky. Driving past here many times decided to finally stop in. It's a very nice interior. Very well organized, decorated and clean. Mix of prepared foods you can buy and take home and heat, ingredients to make your own meals and of course food you can order. The prepared foods looked delicious. Someone was cutting fresh vegetables. It was looking great. I opted for breakfast burrito which I thought was great. I usually look to add ketchup etc, but it was pretty well balanced and didn't need anything else. My wife got their avocado toast and was dissapointed. It was just covered in pepper. I'll upload pics later. It was also served on a metal rounded pointed bottom tin which made it near impossible to try and cut on a hard flat surface table. I'd opt for the bottled water. The bathroom specifically mentions old pipes and to be careful with flushing. Our waters had black specs. We ate on a rare recent sunny day. The fans were on full blast and was pretty cold inside. I eat vegan. There were no sandwich options which were vegan so I had a salad which was pretty good. I was really hungry and wanted something with bread but was told there were no options for vegan sandwiches. Really nice drink selection. They also had two soups which were vegan but I did not try them. I think having a hummus wrap or chickpea "tuna" sandwich option might fit in well with the menu. This place is so cute! My friend and I were in the Chagrin Falls are taking a knitting class. After the class we decided to stop and grab some food. That is how we found Lemon Falls. Oh my goodness the aroma of the place!!!! I wanted to order everything off the menu. They have vegan and gluten free options (#winning). OH and all the sparkling water brands you can think of. The décor was so adorable and while we were waiting for our food, my friend and I fell in love. They even had fresh flowers on the windowsill and patio/outdoor seating.
