Volt Doctors - Shiny new and better than before

I think this is only the second online review I've ever left but Volt Doctors provided such amazing…read moreservice that I was compelled to write. A tree unexpectedly took down my power line on a Saturday and pulled the entire power meter and pole off my house. Since it was a weekend my usual electrician wasn't available and he recommended Volt Doctors. Their 24 hr dispatcher immediately answered and they had an electrician on site within two hours on a Saturday evening. Erik, helped get my generator running and hooked up, and an hour after that I had an estimate and repair plan in hand. On Sunday and Monday Summer was in frequent contact with updates and by Monday afternoon the repair was complete and good as new! The job came in under the projected time and under budget, so they reduced the cost to the real hours worked. I can't speak highly enough about Volt Doctors, THIS is how you run a business!

We moved to North Carolina from the west coast which means you don't have a network of plumbers and…read moreelectricians, and mechanics and such... It is such a vulnerable situation. My daughter bought a home and it need some electrical work done to fix a few minor things and to hardwire some flood lights, patio lights and other projects. After a first attempt with a company that charged a service fee ($129) and sent 3 men that did absolutely NOTHING that we needed...I had the lucky fortune of finding Volt Doctors. The owner is a very nice and hard-working local man businessman that knows his stuff. They were able to work on many items on my list and I am excited they will be coming back to give the house a complete check for older sockets and some loose plugs. (Clearly I don't know the correct terms) - But I DO know what it feels like to have someone NOT take advantage of me. THANK YOU Volt Doctors for running an honest business with reasonable pricing and good quality work!

Poor customer service. Conflicting solutions from different technicians in the same company. We…read morehave had E&W service our Generac for well over 10 years and their actual maintenance service was good but they were always trying to upsell us to a new and different generator. It was the early 2000's when ours was installed (not by them) with permit and to code and inspected. But when E&W started their maintenance agreements with us they said the codes have changed and we must upgrade. But no we did not have to. And our Generac has lasted over 20+ years. Then they said we needed a part that cost over $5000 and they would have to remove our generator, bring it to their offices and repair it and bring it back. Could not get answers to my questions because the woman who answers the phones would not let me speak to a tech even though one was standing right next to her. Just rude. Time to move on to a better firm. If I am now going to spend for a new and more powerful generator I experct to be treated with a little respect. Look at your other choices, there are good Generac dealers around - just not E&W.

However, at completion of service they charged me an extra 1.25 hours - when I asked they said it was to cover travel time from the provider's previous location to my home. I requested a refund for that amount and was told it had to go to the owner; for the past 3 weeks I have been leaving multiple messages and emails a week with no response at all. Plus, after a maintenance visit costing $1100, I was told that the coolant still needed to be changed, which would include replacing belts, sensors and thermostats. I don't trust them, feel swindled, and am very disappointed in what had been a go to company for years.

Do I thought now was the right time to get a generator! I bought a Generac generator from Costco, via Generator SuperCenter, and they performed the installation. The workmanship was fantastic, and my consultant , Nick, was super helpful. He basically held my hand through the whole process, and managed the timeline. They handled the permitting, and the approval with my HOA, the gas technicians, installing the gas pressure sensors and new gas lines, as well as the after inspection with the City. The city inspectors only had minor comments/concerns, which the team at Generator SuperCenter took care of quickly. Once complete, Nick came out and showed me how to operate and set up the weekly service and maintenance tests. If I had any issues, I could contact the service team through the app and schedule any service requests! The Generac mobile app is also helpful to see the status and history of my generator, and super helpful -- especially if you're away! Value wise, I thought the price was very reasonable. The price was all inclusive and I just paid the initial down payment and then the balance the day the workmen came. I bought through Costco, so at the end I got $1600 gift card to spend at Costco. If I had to do it again, I'd do it in the spring or fall, as they had to shut off my electricity for 5-6 hours. One last tip, make sure you keep records of all paperwork and payments, as this is also proof for improvements made to your home. Definitely happy with my investment and the work done by Generator SuperCenter
