Cranberry wine

So glad we stopped here while we were passing through! They had a very nice selection of wines - specifically a lot of semi-sweet options which are my favorite. Definitely do a tasting to figure out what you like, have a glass and then buy a bottle! Our server was also amazing. She was extremely sweet - very friendly and chatted with us the entire time. Atmosphere - also amazing. Very cool, relaxed vibes.

Loved Karen. Loved the Thursday night music. We had the wine flight and found a wine that was our favorite.

Staff have always been friendly and informative, nice looking place, has some character. Wines are pretty decent- like the Old Escanaba.

Not wanting the winery to disappear, Julie and Tony bought the bar so that this Escanaba landmark can continue its legacy.

There was only only other couple there on a beautiful Monday afternoon. My husband and I got two…read moredifferent flights, the selection 2 and 4. We didn't really enjoy any of the ones in selection 2. We liked a couple in selection 4. We then tasted the strawberry rhubarb, cherry, and honey peach. They were all really, really sweet. We bought their rosé and Riesling, those were nice. So why not a better review? We spent about 15 minutes talking with the owner and he wouldn't make eye contact with me, only my husband. I finally walked away. It wasn't just me, my husband noticed, as well. Later he did tell us that women are 90% of his business. He may want to make women feel welcome then, because I certainly did not.

This is a quaint little winery. We wanted to get some wine from the UP. Yooper, the term used for…read moresomeone from the upper peninsula adequately describes the ambiance here. Much of the wine reflects the local harvest. Apples, pears, strawberries, rhubarb, and locally grown grapes are used to make wines that are truely Yooper. I ended up getting a bottle of the 4 berry wine. It has a perfect blend of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. I had a sample and was delightfully pleased with the balance between sweetness and tartness. FYI: they charge $5.00 for wine tasting. Next time in the area, I plan to get the strawberry rhubarb wine.
