Nicole Mendenhal sounded and looked like what I was looking for, but how I walked out, was shocking! She used thinning shears through my wavy hair and even though I told her I was growing my hair out, she cut off a good 2 inches. Lots off my hair fell out from the color. I honestly don't know what happened here. I sent her a message on her phone and explained everything, to which I got no reply and that alone speaks volumes. I like to use yelp as a platform to help small businesses, but what happen here was wrong in so many ways and on the text I sent her, I did say I choose to pray for her, but I have thought and prayed about this and I would hate for this to happen to anyone else. read more

I asked for a bright blonde highlight and even sent inspiration pictures to the stylist. My hair came out looking darker than then when I originally went in. My hair was several different shades of brownish blonde. I called the front desk to see if there was anything they could do to fix it and they said I would have to call the stylist directly. I then went back in for her to fix it and my hair looked almost white and still has some brassy spots to it. I was charged quite a bit of money and very dissapointed with how my hair turned out. read more

Beauty experts are in abundance at this salon. I have been enjoying salon services at Leidan Mitchell for over a decade now and every time I relax when I am there and feel like a rejuvenated woman when I leave. They provide all sorts of services including makeup application, massages, coloring, cuts, waxing, and lots more (likely services I'm not even aware of). Julia has been my hair stylist for a very long time and she is amazing. She is the most talented hair stylist/artist I have ever come across. She's quick, efficient, and does a flawless job. I have gone from my natural blonde (though sad to admit there are some grays these days) to brunette and back to blonde. Julia gets the color just right and if it's not exactly what I pictured she works until it is. I absolutely recommend Julia, however if she isn't available I have seen the work of the other stylists and beauticians in Leidan Mitchell and they all appear to be very professional and know what they are doing. The clientele at this salon are consistent loyal customers for a reason; it's wonderful service and they do a great job. The inside of the salon is comfortable and smells of product, perfume, and beauty (just as a salon should). The prices are not cheap, but when it comes to hair, nails, makeup and people massaging you I believe strongly that you get what you pay for. Some things are worth the money (and I tend to be cheap). The staff are always friendly, know their stuff, and quite frequently I see people I know getting a service done because it's a neighborhood salon that's inviting to everyone. The Leiden Salons are both high end, aesthetically designed, and comfortable. I had my bridal hair and makeup done at the Queen Creek location and was impressed. I am absolutely thrilled about my experience at Leidan Mitchell because of stylist Jessica Hiatt! I was recommended to her by a friend and from the moment I messaged her, she was always so quick to respond, so kind, and excited about my hair goals. Jessica does a great job of really trying to understand what your goals are so that she can either reach them, or surpass them. I always wanted to add some color and dimension to my naturally jet black hair, but was always super hesitant after a bad experience a few years ago. Jessica always made me feel super confident in her by walking me through the entire process and really helping me to visualize what I can expect before she did anything. I was very particular about what I wanted and I can confidently say that the results were even better than I expected. I LOVE looking at my hair any chance I can get and I've already received so many compliments. My hair looks healthier than ever! I don't get my hair colored/cut often so I usually just use whoever but since I found Alex like 3-4 years ago I literally don't go to anyone else for cut or color and I have super thick hair so to find someone who is skilled enough to deal with it feels like a miracle...so i beyond recommend Alex! I should've stuck to my gut instinct, BUT nope I had to against my better judgment. When I called in to make my appointment I didn't know who I was going to see, but the receptionist assured me that the stylist I was going to see had been doing hair for years! I went in blindly not seeing any of the stylist work, very bad idea! I was booked with Dixie. I showed up on time, and showed her exactly I wanted. When I showed her several pictures of the color I was looking for she seriously made a face. My hair is naturally dark brown, and all I was looking for was some chocolate brown highlights. She explained it would be a long process. I said to her if she didn't have the time to do it at this time I could just come back, and to please just cover my grays. side note.. (Not to many grays ) I guess Miss Dixie felt like this was boring & beneath her coloring skills, because what I got was light caramel highlights! I even expressed to her when I was waiting for the color to process that I felt like it was way to blonde. She tried to dismiss my concern by saying "it's not as scary as you think." Well it was. When she blow dried my hair out she made a J-lo reference about my hair which cracked me up. What because I'm Latina you think I want to look like J-lo!? Insert eye-roll here. She told me to give it a few days & if I wasn't happy with the color she could darken it back up. I left very unhappy, because what a waste of my time. I woke up the next day, and everytime I would see my reflection I would cringe at not only my orange hair, but the fact that she also chopped more hair off than I expected. Fast forward to today when Dixie agreed to color my hair back to brown. I went in not sure what to expect. When I said hello to her she completely ignored me. I should've walked out that moment, but I stayed and she acted all FAKE! She colored my hair and then asked if I wanted to sit under the dryer. I kindly declined. I was treated so rudely by her after spending over $250.00 & for what? After ruining my Saturday for her mess up she had the nerve to be mad at me!!? I'm sure there are some good stylists in this salon, but Dixie and her very bad attitude is not one of them. You've been warned! read more
