I have eaten several meals here. Each time service timeleness for initial greeting and food delivery were great. The quality of everything I have had was as it should be for the price. Portion size is also good for the price. My favorite is the Bbq brisket with Mac and cheese. Last trip I tried the Rueben sandwich. Personally I have had much better than here. This unfortunately was not a great experience. So, when I arrived, I had mentioned what kind of flavors I like because the bartender usually has suggestions. I was not telling the person to choose for me. They walked away and I figured they were letting me look at the menu but they came back with a flight of flavors that I did not choose. I decided to try them but I mentioned that I would not normally choose one of the flavors and she did ask if I wanted something else. She told me to try it but then went elsewhere for a bit, so I just let it go. I was also disappointed to learn that you cannot try all of the fruit wines. That is why I came here. You can only try what they have on draft, unless a bottle of the flavor you like is already opened, and none of them were. Very limited selection on draft. I tried the raspberry, balaton cherry, strawberry, and black currant. I know taste is subjective but they were all bitter and off tasting. Like, I can't even imagine that it is the intended flavor for any of them, and I drink a lot of fruit wines. I didn't finish any of them. Came here to Buchanan with my friend for a quick lunch. He stopped in here. The sandwich was tasty and the chicken was cooked well. Avocado was fresh as well as the lettuce and tomato. Brioche bun always yummy. We ordered the coleslaw on the side. It was fresh and tasty. The place is open with a lot of windows and an outside seating area. Service was good. I love ciders. I couldn't wait to try them. I got most of the ciders with the lefty. They were all good but nothing I wanted to take home. The fiancé got their Manhattan which he typically can suck it up and drink it but this he couldn't finish more than a few sips. I don't know if the bartender actually knew how to make the drinks as I would watch her read the menu of what was in the drink. Also she didn't know the taste difference between the white corn and white rye (which he got and said was terrible) which I thought was odd as a bartender. The snack plate was delicious. I am writing this sitting in this place with no server or guests wearing masks. We got this place on a recommendation by the Makers Trail. I hope they read Yelp as this place needs to be taken off the list. First, we will start with the beers and the ciders. We got 6 different pours and they were all sour and terrible. I've had many around SW Michigan and this was by far the worst. It's so bad that my dad isn't even going to finish one of the tasters. The food was also bland. I had the worst Beer Cheese soup in my life (probably using their terrible beer). My chicken club sandwich was ok, but the "avocado" on the top was actually a sad smear of green. My mom got the bacon and apple pizza. It too was ok, but they chopped the apples instead of slicing them thin. My dad got the charcuterie plate which was good except the stale nuts. The apple butter was actually the highlight. Service was slow and pretty terrible. There is nobody in this place and it took forever to get food or service. Plus, once again, there was no mask wearing or social distancing. We left Round Barn for this garbage. We made a huge mistake. Please, stay away from this place! read more

We have been here well over a dozen times over the last year and it just needs a little nudge to make it great. They have a huge assortment of drinks suitable for everyone but nothing really stands out. The food used to be excellent but looks like they have cut back on some things. The beer cheese soup still rocks a cold and gloomy day but that's about it. Their snack board used to have several different meats and cheeses but seems to have shrank and have limited selections. It's just not as stellar as last year. Don't get me wrong, it's a great place in Buchanan but just wish they stepped it up a little bit more. Total love the old industrial look and the fact that they use their own fruits to make a lot of things. We will be back but might not be our first choice any more. I'm only being generous and giving two stars because the building has so much charm. The food was overpriced and mediocre. The pretzel appetizer was nothing but a concession stand item. Pizza had cracker thin crust. My Italian salad was presented nicely but not worth $9. The chicken noodle soup was extremely salty. In my first experience here I found nothing negative. The staff was prompt and friendly. The food was super delicious. I had a flight of hard ciders and the Bourbon Barrel was of particular genius. As was the pear. We had two appetizers, one a pretzel it was store bought not homemade which was disappointing but the sauces paired with it were pretty yummy. We also had beef brisket nachos loaded which were just lovely. I recommend sharing. They are big. Dinner we went old school and had the grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Sooo good. Perfect and crisp. Homemade peanut butter and jelly so that was fun. All in all we liked it and will be back Update: 2nd visit tried the wine on our 2 visit. Pass. Service is always friendly but..a little too casual. The food this time was ok. Just ok. $50 for a meal that is just "ok"left me feeling underwhelmed and still hungry. My Mac cheese side looked creamy and delicious but it tasted weird and had a hair in it by bite 3. My husband had a sausage pizza to which he said he loved the sauce but everything else was blah and I think I only found a few pieces of sausage and a soggy, ready made crust. Stopped here on way back north from South Bend as it was brewery just of 31. I have been to hundreds of breweries across the states and I hate to say that the beers and ciders here are the worst I have tasted. I have brewed at home for over 20 years and have never made a beer this bad. Tried 7 different beers and ciders and they all were equally bad. I also had dinner and the chicken philly was good which is why I gave it 2 stars. My recommendation is that they try to be really good at one thing and stop trying to do so much. They have wine, mead, beer, cider, spirits all made in house. Tough to master all of these at such a small scale. read more

Really fantastic. We were fortunate enough to go to their soft opening and sampled pretty much everything they had on tap as well as some of their spirits and cider. The real stand outs were the Scotch ale (slightly sweet, malty and rich) and their Kolsch (light, crisp, perfect for summer!) I personally thought their stouts were a little tangy, but but husband liked them. Their ciders are exceptional as well. They were serving food and the menu looked impressive. We shared the snack plate (charcuterie board) and it was good but a little small to be shared by 4. Service was attentive and eager to please. Everything is very clean and they have an amazing variety of bottled beer, ciders, wine and their distilled spirits. The owner was on hand and gave us a tour of the soon to be expanded dining area/bar and told us a little about the history of the building. He was so nice and there is such a passion for what they are doing I have to give them 5 stars. It is absolutely worth the visit to Buchanan and we are looking forward to our next trip down. read more

They should never serve turkey dinner. Mashed potatoes were like soup. Dressing was little pieces overcooked and dry. Turkey was dry. Biscuit was only good thing on the plate and had to ask for jelly and butter for that. Price was ridiculous. Would not recommend. read more

The beer cheese soup tasted like the strongest hoppiest IPA that had a little bit of cheese mixed in. It was not edible. The kitchen staff was talking loudly and the sound carries right into the dining room. So now we know that one of the cooks thinks the other should "Suck his d**k". We helped the girl behind the bar make a old fashion bc she didn't know where to begin. She said she never bartends, we felt awful for her. The managers saw us helping her and just watched. We ordered brisket salad as well as a sandwich and I don't know what kind of respite comes in a salmon patty much form, but it was absolutely awesome. We took one bite and immediately put our plates forward to let us was bad and moldy. I didn't invite complain, but our server insisted that we talk to the manager. Once we tried telling her it was awful. She immediately got defendant, and wouldn't let us finish your sentence before cutting us off and over speaking to us.. Unfortunately, some people can't take criticism. This is not someplace that we will return to. read more

Terrible service from the get go. Diana H. Was a horrible person to greet you when you walk in. She was very short with us and very unknowledgeable of the product she was suppose to be selling. The venue was a very simple place which was fine. However from a craft cider/beer/ wine perspective it just doesn't work. The 3 ciders we tasted were not exciting and just very simple. The 2 meads left a lot to be desired. The milk stout was sour... makes no sense. The wine was not bad. The petit Syrah was very tasty. For as far as it is from the rest of the wine trail it wasn't worth the extra trip. read more

A charming atmosphere; located in an old factory; high ceilings and a definite retro feel to the brewery. I've been here a number of times and it never disappoints. They have an interesting array of hard ciders that range between tart and sweet. the cafe menu has a great beer cheese soup; together with brisket this is a very filling combo. They have a good selection of sandwiches as well. I'm not as crazy about the beers and brandies but they have an interesting selection of orchard related items; jams, etc. as well as a lot of bottled hard apple ciders, some really good fudge as well. There is a HUGE opportunity for this place to go above and beyond the local rural bewhouse, considering the number of people coming to their orchard first and stepping by to eat on the way back. However, there is a ton of things to be changed. First of all, when you come in, you get to their merchandise store, with NOT A SINGLE PERSON AROUND, and God know how I found the door that took me to the dining area. Second, I picked the table in the middle of the hall, and I think it didn't belong to any of their server's areas. Bossy lady (she acted as a manager or an owner later on) was serving an empty table right in front of us, just ignoring us sitting next to her for 20 minutes. Finally, I took the menu off that table myself and choose what to order, but nobody was still around. In a little bit, a bartender guy noticed us and started serving... He was super nice, but that was still weird. After that, the food has been brought, and to be honest it was quite legit. We also got some ciders and they were great too. I can say, there is a potential here, and someone did include his soul into the project, but others did not finish the job. The other drawback is an interior, it looks like it was all made back in the 60's, but no, it isn't authentic, its just outdated!! C'mon, work on it, invest some and the returns won't take long!! People will really appreciate homemade everything in nice atmosphere! As a brief conclusion, entrance and interior deducted the star each, and the lack of service by everyone (BUT that bartender dude, he was great) got the third one. read more
