Lemon Crerk Winery truly is a charming place to relax and enjoy delicious wines with family or friends. We saw many different size and types of groups, including girls weekend groups, family, kids, and a bonus for us that outdoor seating is pet friendly too. Our dogs loved hanging out in the cool grass while we tried their wines. My favorites were the sparkling peach and the ciders were equally crisp and tasty. The sparkling rose' is nice too and a great bottle for celebrating. There wasn't a food truck while we visited, but heavy charcuterie options for purchase. The cute Farmers Market is a nice place to pick up some fresh fruit or popcorn to enjoy with your wine too. We look forward to a return visit next time we are in town. read more

Great to come back. Love their white and dessert wines. Some of the better Michigan wines I've had but the dessert wines in particular really stand out. The last of the wine tasting flights is all the dessert wines and they're incredibly flavorful, unique, just really good. the New Moon, Blood Moon, and Snow Moon. It's a shame they're so expensive to buy in bottles but they're so worth the flight. Looking forward to returning again. read more

Always our favorite stop on the wine trail! Since I've gone so often I settled on sharing a bottle of Weko Dunes White, one of my favorites. One of our friends was new to the scene and she got a flight. We visited with the famous Vince as we sat inside. The day was rainy and so we didn't get to sit outside which is always lovely but they did have a nice La ilion and some igloos outside. Definitely one of our favorites! read more

When you enter the winery, you are greeted with a chalkboard that has about 20 different flights for you to pick from. I had a flight that focused on sparkling, rosé, and orange wines. My wine was delicious and the lovely staff here added to my tasting experience. The staff walked us each individually through our flights (we had all ordered different ones) and they even gave us a free glass of one of their famous red wines to try. They were really thoughtful and it was obvious they wanted us to have a great experience. The food situation here is a bit odd-- they have a menu that is a bit misleading. It's essentially grocery store items (a full block of cheese, a jar of jam, box of crackers). For example if you order a cheese, it just comes like it would from the grocery store in plastic and you have to cut it yourself. I think someone like prepped charcuterie or cheese plates would really elevate the experience. read more

This past weekend I had an amazing time traveling to this Vineyard. So the original plan was for me and my girlfriend to come and go peach picking. Unfortunately this year they didn't have a great harvest during the winter season so we could only do the wine & cider tastings. That turned out to be a great experience of its own, especially when one of the farmers came to our table and talked to us about each cup of wine and cider we had. To be fair, they have a great setup. Wine tasting and fruit picking are a plus, but the overall feeling just kinda sucks. There is no warm and fuzzy feelings there at all. You just get the feeling of you are number and they shoot you through as fast as they can. As for the wine tastings, everything is predetermined by style. If you are a person that enjoys all the styles of wine, you're pigeon hole to a certain style. The price is right along $20 a tasting and you only get a glorified shot of each. No real choice in what you want. They basically make you pick a style, no real assistance in choosing and ship you over to a pickup area. They do have a nice area for seating but that's it. Nothing for activities for the family just random tables in a gravel parking lot. One nice feature is they do have a U pick and farm stand but the extensive amount of signs telling you what you can and cannot do seems a-little oppressive. And finally the staff is kinda rude. We had one person wanting to take a good look at some of the fruit trees near the farm stand and they jumped on them and basically yelled at them to "not touch the fruit!" If you're going to have full fruit trees in the seating area, at least let the customers see what they have. I get some people like to damage fruit and be stupid, but when you have someone admiring the fruits and just looking at them, don't get crappy with them just cause they are close to the trees! Maybe a little warning or conversation would work much better. I know there are a lot of other wineries in the area that are more, helpful and easy going with people, and I get there are some stupid people that push the issue with damaging fruit, but sometimes, polite people just like to look! I'm really not trying to be stuck up, but the entire place really didn't give us the warm and fuzzy, relaxing type of place read more

Stopped here yesterday afternoon for wine tasting. My best friend has been here many times and it was my first. Her favorite wine is the Cab Franc so I went with the #1 Dry Red Reserve tasting and she went with #3 Dry Red & Dry White tasting. It was Memorial Day weekend and a gorgeous day. Additionally they had food trucks, a band, and a mini art fair so it was busy. We were luckily able to join 2 other strangers at a picnic table and enjoyed the wine and atmosphere! I also ordered the Cherry cider which was yummy! We both bought bottles to take home with us. My favorites were the Carmanere & Cab Franc. My bestie's are the Cab Franc and Pinot Noir Rose. The whole staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They know their wine very well! Vince visited our table a few times and was able to offer suggestions on what we should try. Ended up walking out with 16 bottles of wine, and we don't regret a second of it! The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. Wine is good, their flights are varied so you should find something that hits your likes. The charcuterie....this leaves something to be desired. However, I must qualify this by saying you get the entire package of meat, cheese and crackers (or whatever you order). But you get the entire package and have to make your board, cut the meats and cheese and open the cracker package. It's nice sitting outside but I don't particularly like seeing the trash containers, and various "stuff" behind the barns. Maybe I should sit with my back to that view? Prices were double what we paid in St. Joseph but the pours are larger and you get the entire package of meats, cheese and crackers (see above). You do get a souvenir glass with a flight, that's what made our decision to come here They were out of a few items (meat and cheese) but the were very accommodating. Would I stop again? My daughter and I were on our way to Indiana to visit my mom. We saw several winery signs and decided that we choose One and lemon Creek happen to be the one we chose. Was very hot that day so we opted for something refreshing. We had a delicious mixed wine slushy, the two flavors were incredible together. didn't make it to the small market but wish we had. This was a bit of an odd experience, and a little expensive compared to other places. The staff is very nice, no complaint there. $18 for the sweet flight. I don't like having to pick a pre-determined set of wines. Why can't you just pour whatever people ask for? I guess it is because no one spends any time actually talking to you or telling you anything about the wine. You get a number like you are at a deli and then get your wine and go off to a table. The seats at the inside tables are uncomfortable. You pre-pay and pre-tip at a register. This is like a fast food place for wine tasting I guess. The initial vibe is a bit off-putting. You walk in and there is the menu and the register and a sign on a table for pick-up. I don't want to feel like I am at McDonald's when going wine tasting. Not a great tasting experience, but I would still buy the peach spumante and cherry wine, my favorites of the sweet flight. The other 2 were whites and a raspberry spumante. They were good. St. Julian has one of the best tasting experiences, in my opinion. Very knowledgeable staff who like to talk about wine. Tabor Hill and Round Barn are also good if you like the sweet stuff. read more

WOW First time at Lemon Creek in many years. Talk about McDonald's type ordering and that is what it is. You can't just taste wines you like - you have to select from a grouping of wines they want you to taste. When I asked I was told "they have over 57 choices and it is impossible to have a person to taste what they like in today's world." Where is the service in wineries? Our first stop on the wine trail on a Saturday. Nice spot with indoor seating and a large open seating area with picnic tables. Also a large pavilion space for shelter from the rain we. Wines are good and some of the better we had throughout the day. Some have noted that bottle prices are a little high. As an experienced windy person I'll say it's all relative and you get what you pay for. Wine is good with the reserve line up getting good marks from my wife and I. We are not wine experts, however we are members of two wine clubs, do several tastings and dinners every year and almost always hit up local wineries wherever we are in the world. This to say that we know what we like. And we have had bad wine and great wine. That's what's great about he tasting experience. You get to test your own palette, learn from others, and find the best for you. read more

A group and I decided to go fruit picking and drinking some wine flights. We had a great time picking fruit and enjoying our day, until we sat down and started drinking our flight. The owner comes up to us and tells us we are drinking it wrong? "We give you a complimentary glass so you can put the small samples in it. Unless you like drinking them like shots". Yea, maybe I do sir. I bought this and didn't ask for your advice or ask you to speak to me. Please leave us to drink what we paid for. He didn't have a mask on and he was just really close to our drinks and faces. First time here tonight as are enjoying live music and some food Al fresco. Ok here's the deal. As I found out tonight, you can either buy from a food truck that comes on sight or a charcuterie board from inside when buying from Lemon Creek. Their charcuterie board is all all Carte & $$. And it's all pre packed not prepared. I gotta problem with this, as nothing is all that spectacular. I will say that the wine chips are a nice snack. From a price prespective, go with the food truck. In addition, it's MI wine. That being said I'd you prefer something sweet than go with the rose. But the safe bet from my second bottle, is either a Chardonnay, Oaked or Unoaked, Pinot Grigio or Pinot Blanc for a nice dry white wine. Live music on Friday nights! read more

We were there for a class, that we paid for, and were treated very rude!! All of us being adults, and the way the two mothers were spoke to that were unable to participate in the class because it was full, was VERY uncalled for. Lemon Creek Winery was the first stop we made on our Michigan wine tour. I was super excited to be apart of this tour and was looking forward to a great experience. The tasting room was set up in the backroom for the tour. They set us up around a bar with glasses and a sheet of wine selections. The lady who was serving us had a slight attitude. She wasn't friendly and had a mean look on her face the whole time. Poor Customer Service. I lost interest of even buying my favorite wine on the list. The Peach Wine had a nice crisp taste. We got a chance to select 5 wines off the list. Since the lady had an attitude and was unfriendly like she didn't care to be serving us. I didn't want to purchase not one bottle of wine from her. And I indeed wanted to purchase 2 bottles of that Peach Wine it was just so tasty. I did like the fact that when you looked out the window on the side it had a nice view of a lake. Probably the best winery in the area! For $15 you get a flight with a free keepsake glass which you use to pour your wine flight into. This is an awesome approach bc (1) it serves to quickly decant and (2) you are not drinking out of plastic--ew. Great deal and great wine. I'm from So Cal and can be pretty pretentious, and was surprised at the quality of the Cab Franc and Petite Verdot. My husband loved the Blanc pictured with this review. I would buy the Blanc again. There were also a few bachelorette parties there and the staff still greeted every guest. There was an older gentleman who was like a wine consultant going from table to table, extremely knowledgeable (and generous with his knowledge!) We loved the ambiance, the wine, and the price. Lemon Creek was the last stop for some friends and I on a wine tour in SW Michigan. It's a really nice spot with a separate shop full of items to purchase and then quite a large tasting room. We went in the middle of a day on Saturday and it was pretty busy! Tastings are $8 each here and you get to try 5 wines.The person pouring our drinks was very friendly and well informed in all aspects of the drinks. You got to pick any 5 to taste of their 13 offerings and they had every type of wine possible covered. They even had ice wine to taste at an additional cost but c'mon...ice wine is like dessert in a cup! You can't pass it up. Of the four wineries we went to, Lemon Creek was the only one we ended up buying wine from. That has to say something about their great vino! read more

I've just about reached my goal of visiting all the wineries in Southwest Michigan. Lemon Creek has been on my radar and we finally were able to visit the winery on Saturday afternoon as we were heading that way for a concert. Walking in I was very impressed with their tasting room. It's large with items for sale, bottles of wine displayed, and a good size U shaped tasting counter. Plus there is also an event area for larger groups. I was happy to see that they were doing a bustling business late on a Saturday afternoon. We bellied-up to the bar to partake in their $10/person for 6 tastings offerings. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable. We both enjoy dry red wines and Lemon Creek did not disappoint. We fell in love with the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Barrel Select and purchased a bottle to take home. When we were walking towards our car, we mentioned the body of water at the end of the parking lot and wondered if it was man made. A gentleman overheard us and he told us it used to be a cow pasture. Come to find out the man was the owner and he's lived in the home next door his whole life. We chatted about the site, the wine, and upcoming events they have scheduled for 2020 and left agreeing that we found a new favorite winery. read more

I came here at a recommendation of some friends in chicago. Overall the social distancing in place made me feel safe and the winery itself was gorgeous -- All the wine tasting was done outdoors. We got the white reserve tasting for $18 and were very disappointed. This was the only Michigan winery we've been to so perhaps our standards are too high having been to Napa etc or maybe we picked the wrong flight -- but rieslings/sweet whites/ice wines are my favorite. What's happened to this place? I've enjoyed a number of their wines over the years, especially the whites, but on this visit, EVERYTHING I tasted -- four whites, two reds -- was thin, often bitter, and nearly flavorless. Five of these six were varietals. Their Chardonnay used to be very nice, but on this visit I found it undrinkable. Compared to what's available in a typical grocery store, there is no need to buy this stuff, even if you're doing it just for "local flavor." Skip it and hope they have some better vintages in the future. I also dislike the physical setup they're using since COVID. Their large, attractive tasting room is off limits, and you can only purchase pre-set flights. This place may once have had a quaint rural charm, but compared to nearby local competitors, I'm sorry to say it seems to be slipping fast. read more

1st star: The wine was good, but on the pricey side. Which even then I would get some to treat myself if it is worth it. 2nd star: The barn on the property were selling peaches. The peaches were so sweet and juicy we took home a bushel. Oh and you have the option to pick your own peaches too. The people working in the barn were also nice and helpful. No more stars: The people who worked in the winery were unfriendly, rude, and very stuck up. The one lady in particular was older and made us feel not worthy enough to be in her winery. I talked to a couple people I know who have also visited this place and had the same experience. Try it out if you'd like, everyone is different. I go to wineries to relax and have fun.
