They ship in grapes for their Cabernet and Pinot Noir, but the other grapes come from Michigan. Their fruit wines are delicious, the Merlot was sadly not my favorite. The semi dry wines we tried had 4 and 5% residual sugars, but still very refreshing and satisfying. The traminette was probably our favorite. The charcuterie boards looked delicious and they have some other snackish items that were very tempting, like a burrata and a butter sampler.

Robin was very helpful choosing and we sat outside. The acoustic player played some great tunes ranging from Tom Petty, to Elvis Costello, and the Eagles. We had the charcuterie board and the pita chips and dips with two bottles of one of their driest whites. We also walked through the vineyard. Three hours of bliss under the early September blue sky. So glad we became members.

My friends on the other hand chose the reds. At the very end of the tasting we had a chance to try his secret hot wine mule. It was super delicious and would be a great gift idea or souvenir. We sat outside overlooking the vineyard. Molly was our server. She was friendly and engaging. Lunch was a walleye sandwich with chips for hubby and the fig & prosciutto flatbread for me. The walleye had a crispy crust coating the moist and tender fish. I took a bite of hub's sandwich and it was so good. My flatbread, though, was amazing. I'm all about a good crust and this one was perfection. So crispy, yet light with all air pockets in the crust. Of course, I love anything fig and this didn't disappoint. I ate 3 squares and took the rest with me. Of course being at the vineyard, we ordered a glass of wine. My husband had the albariño and I ordered the sauvignon blanc. I didn't care for the sauvignon blanc. When the manager came by, we raved about the food but I was honest about the wine. She gave me a taste of the chardonnay and she was right. It was good. I was happy she switched my wine. The negatives are the wasps are nuisances, and there were no traps to catch them. I was dodging them the entire meal. I guess it's hazard when dining al fresco. The other annoyance was the water glasses are small, and my water was never refilled and my glass sat empty even with Molly and the manager stopping by during the meal. Since the glass is small, they should leave a bottle of water at the table or make it a point to check and recheck the water glasses. This is a nice stop for lunch on the Michigan wine trail.
