We always stop by greenbush when we're in the area. Beer is consistently good and the BBQ food is pretty good as well. The star of the show was the sides though! I would drive all the way from Chicago just to have lunch here. It's an amazing little find off of 94 in Sawyer. The BBQ brisket, chicken and pork were all tender, juicy and delicious. Just enough smoke to make them tasty. The sauces are all great too. You have to try the Joique sauce, a little sweet with jek flavoring. The shrimp and grits are huge, delicious and unique. This is our second time at Greenbush and both times the experience was ok. There is indoor and outdoor seating, but even on a sunny afternoon there was no one sitting outside. They have a variety of beer, my husband had the Low Life a lager. They have an extensive food menu, with a wide variety of food options. We had the Pub Cheese appetizer with crostini. The portion of the cheese was very large and the crostini was more than enough. The cheese was smooth, sharp and tangy. Service is ok, but nothing stands out or makes the visit special. read more

My fave beer hands down this visit was the scotch ale, there was a double ipa imperial that I did not spy until later so will have to try that one next time. My bar mate recommended the cuban with a cucumber salad side and he was not wrong, it did not disappoint, as you can see from my picture it was delicious. This place is popular so expect to wait for a seated table in or out, outside seating on both sides of the building, bar seating is first come first serve. Service is no nonsense and you have to respect a menu that features a fried bologna sandwich, that one brings back some memories for sure. read more

Had all the toppings on the burger when we made sure to say plain just cheese and the top bun was so hard you couldnt bite into it if it was plain am allergicto onions so couldnt even eat the burger... chicken was cold and Texas toast was soggy had to put it in the air fryer. It had been at least seven years since I had dined at Greenbush Brewing last, so it was time for a return. As a vegetarian eater, I wondered what Greenbush would have in store for the meatless crowd. Fortunately, I was really pleased to see smoked tofu and vegetables on the menu...and combined in a sandwich! Shmeared with their tehina (tahini) pub spread, it was a solid effort. We came in on a fairly busy Friday night. It's a brewery pub restaurant type of environment. Plenty of beers on tap, including a cider. All pretty good. The food is actually quite good as well, even has vegan options. Many many sandwich options, and there's a BBQ theme here - they make a lot of smoked meats including selling their own bacon in the same fridge as their beers that they brew! We sat at the gorgeous and expansive bar and enjoyed a variety of their beers. The staff was hustling, but attentive. My husband loved the scotch ale - it was a beautiful caramel color and was malty. I noticed that many customers were enjoying a Mexican lager and purchasing growlers of it. The menu was expansive and it was so hard to make a choice. Lillie's Q is better and you can buy it at the local grocery stores. The brisket and pulled chicken were ok. The breading on the fried chicken was dark and just tasted burnt and salty to me, not great. The hand pies were good, blueberry and apple. I tried the pilsner and red ale, both good. I took a Sunspot home, just ok. Friendly service. I asked for mild hot sauce and I guess I was supposed to ask for no heat sauce. Mild is level 2 and is way too hot for me. An acquired taste I guess. I was overcharged on my bill. That should always be checked before it is brought to the table. When you walk in, there is no host but there is a counter, where a host would normally be in a restaurant. I guess you check in at the bar? I was waiting a bit before anyone noticed I was there. Enjoyed a day going from wineries, to the lavender farm and finishing off with dinner here at the brewery. We chose to sit on the patio, which was a nice ambiance aside from the train that passed in the middle of our dining only feet from our seats - extremely loud of course - so just be aware. The metal furniture was also fairly wobbly on the patio but got the job done. All the staff were extremely nice a friendly but service was a little slow. The food however was very very good. I enjoyed the smothered grits that had the greatest flavor from the veggie sauce it was topped with. I added chicken and it also had a very unique and delicious flavor. My party also enjoyed a variety of bowls and sandwiches that they were all happy with as well. Food portions were generous and we all left happy! A nice little stop in a cute little town. read more

Stopped into Greenbush Brewing in Sawyer and was blown away by the brisket and mac & cheese--easily some of the best I've had anywhere. The brisket was smoky, tender, and packed with flavor, and the mac was creamy, cheesy comfort food perfection. The beer lineup was excellent too, with a solid variety and bold flavors that paired perfectly with the meal. Service was average--not bad, just nothing that stood out--but the food and drinks more than made up for it. I recently visited Greenbush with my girl and her cousins after a nice day at Lemon Creek. We ordered the gumbo, chicken wings , and brisket po boy. My gf really enjoyed her gumbo, and I liked my Po boy but I wish it came with a bbq sauce on top instead of the sauce they used. The wings were crispy , with a great smokey taste . It brought a whole new crowd to the area and gave it some life. The beer here is great. I got a flight today and was a fan of their Hefeweizen and their Oatmeal Stout. They taste fresh and classic. Great with lunch. Their food is also great! I ordered their hot chicken sandwich (I believe it was called the Americana). It was HOT so be prepared! I ordered a level 3 spice and it had me sweating. I love spicy food so it really hit the spot. All of their sides are tasty, but I'm a particular fan of tots and potato salad. This place goes a bit downhill every year. At one time the food was spectacular and the service was decent. The place had a quirky fun vibe. Now there are LOTS OF RULES and you are greeted by a sign that tells you to wear a shirt and shoes (it's law, no need for a sign) and some healthy virtue signaling. You can't take food to this patio, there is no service on that patio, this is table service, that is walk up.... Spare me. Also, I was sold an "italian beef" that looks like a sandwich for a old ladies day at Chikaming Country Club. It had a few slices of meat and a spoonfull of giardinera. Anybody who has been to Al's, Charlies, etc... knows an Italian Beef is a whopper, piled high with beef, peppers, onion, and optional cheese. It makes a giant mess. read more
