Great service in an old bar/restaurant. That said the food got very mixed reviews. The patty melt was generous and well done cooked to order on a marble rye with crispy onion rings, not home made but ok. Same review for the Rubin sandwich. Decent corned beef on marble rye. The pizza was a complete disaster, our party ordered 2 large, both came burnt and dried out, lacking appropriate sauce and cheese. Maybe it all crispified?? They should not have served it but did. In a past visit the food was ok, prime rib was good but the green beans were from a can and then cooked beyond recognition. Overall, I won't go out of my way to go here but if I end up here, stick to the sandwiches. You can do better. read more

the food can sometimes be hit or miss, but that may just be because the restaurant sometimes seems to get a bit more busy than they are prepared for during the spring/summer months. when it's busy, the food can be a bit less predictable- but go on a slow day and sit on the patio and you will have such a calm, lovely time. wait staff is nice! the girls are great- especially miss destiny! but the wait staff im sure also has to deal with a lot of men who were drinking at the bar... they sometimes seems to get a bad rep of being rude- but i think they are just keeping themselves safe and doing their jobs as best they can. love this place, even when its busy. minus one star for sure solely because of the name- does this place have any connections to local indigenous communities? if not- a name change is needed. read more

We went here on our way home from South Bend. We went out of our way to go and try it because of reviews on Yelp and Facebook. It was definately not worth the extra time & miles unfortunately We had a 14"pizza - just ok I had a side salad which was ok but had browned edge lettuce. We had the whole bbq wings and they were the highlight of the meal actually. But we're not exceptional by any means. All in all a disappointing trip, not worth the time or effort and no return trip unless we're already in the area. read more

I had the barbecued baby back ribs very very juicy the half a rack was more than enough for a person. The meal came with a vegetable and a potato which I selected the baked potato which was very fresh very fluffy and you could tell it was just recently cooked course we drink some beer and had a good time. read more

I've been meaning to write a review for Indian Lake Pub for awhile but have procrastinated. We were there most recently on Monday night and enjoyed our visit immensely. They had a fairly large crowd and the staff was hustling. We enjoyed a pizza and also tried the Hot Italian sandwich. Both were delicious! Yes, food coming out of the kitchen was a little slow but given the current pandemic and all the issues with staff shortages, we understood and just relaxed and enjoyed another cocktail while waiting for our meal. Also, our server, Holly, was awesome, attentive, and always had a smile on her face. We are very much looking forward to our next visit! read more

If i could give 0 stars i would! We had a group of 6 we ordered 2 appetizers one of them being the pretzel bites. We all grabbed one and ate as we come often than my grandmother was looking and saw they all had the same spot, IT WAS MOLD. And what did the owner do? Give us 10% off the pretzel bites which was not even a dollar because "we ate most of them" like of course we weren't trying to inspect them! Disgusting. First off, pizza is my thing. If you sit down across from me at a Great Clips, or a Oriental massage parlor and you fire up a conversation about pizza, you better bring your A game. We can talk about Blodgett ovens versus Bakers Pride. We can discuss The subtle differences between San Marzano tomatoes and California plum tomatoes. Proofing dough in aged wood bins or plastic bins. I dont F around when it comes to pizza. That being said, their is a little leeway for Tavern/bowling alley pizza. I dont hold it to the exacting standards as I do parlor pizza. However, if you read my last review I went to great pains to split the Wounded Minnows ass about that filthy pile of crap they slapped on a cookie sheet and called pizza!  But I digress. ILPub recently had a second opportunity to wow me. My wife and I stopped in after  spending the day drinking and betting at Dowagiacs dirty little secret. The seedy disgusting world of snapping turtle fights. Drop 2 turtles in the ring, sit back and watch the carnage. This underbelly is the bain of southwest Michigan. So we ordered the Fried Brussel sprouts. Home run! A really great appetizer I highly recommend. It was a damn shame our waitress, axe handle Betty, was kinda bitchy, slow and not very attentive. Fast forward to this last Saturday. Gave the ILP another shot, that's me Mr. Sensitive. Took the wife to the ILP ordered the sprouts, a burger for the lad. A large ILP special pizza. Sprouts were spot on. The Pizza......well after an hour and a 1/2 and a dozen beers we decided it probably wasn't coming.      However  to our suprise and delight we were treated to some entertainment. An Elvis impersonator was beginning his show!! I watched, I watched with the glazed over expression of a child watching his first Chainsaw Massacre movie. As he rolled into CC Rider I laughed so uncontrollably the waitress told me I would have to leave if I didnt stop. I said I can't. Pizza Aint Here!! She went into the kitchen 3 times and finally after 3 hours our pizza came! The dough in the middle never cooked it was still raw. We showed it to her and asked her to bring our check minus the pizza she was very sweet and did. So..  Elvis!!......where do I start?? You can't make this shit up. I think the poor bastard was suffering with bersitus. He couldn't get his arm up over his head and it really detracted from the show. If your doin Elvis that arm has to be high. He did have middle age puggy Elvis goin on and Had all the old dames over 60 up and dancing. But...the pizza. This is starting to bother me what the fuck is wrong with the Dowagiac pizza scene? I keep picturing this poor old Potawatomie  Indian. Staring out over the Dowagiac creek near the waste water treatment plant, a single tear rolling down his weathered face. A nasty slice of Dowagiac burnt pizza in his hand and him saying one word.....how? read more

So I live in sister lakes. This was about the 5th time I've tried to order from here. Each time a while before they closed, the "kitchen was closed" like tonight 905 when it says they close at 10 they told me that they were closed. Haven't stopped in for a couple of years due to the terrible service... BUT new owners now and they seem to be interested in taking care of customers! Visited here in March with Hubs, sister and brother in law. We each ordered different items from the menu (all sandwiches) and were pleasantly surprised. Food was pretty good and the beer was cold. Our server was new-ish and had a tough time keeping things straight and staying on top of the new customers coming in. We gave her a break though and will more than likely to stop back in. I live just down the street from ILP and eat here at least 2 to 3 times a week (sometimes more). The staff is fantastic, the food is great and the portions are generous. New owners took over last fall even with Covid restrictions going on and they have done a WONDERFUL job keeping their standards and morale up through all the new rules and restrictions. Sis makes a point to meet her customers and you will often see her pitching in to wait tables when they're busy. This is night and day from the former ILP/Irish Spartan establishment. The interior has all been remodeled and they also have outdoor patio seating for those who like that. Lots of good specials and the regular menu has a lot to pick from. The cheese curds are amazing and the best I've had anywhere around here. I love the pizza and my husband likes the wings and salad. Lots of drink choices and our usual waitress Erin remembers what we like before we even have to ask. They are a great addition to this area and are always busy when you stop in :) read more

Honestly, their logo is highly offensive. I do not believe the owner is of Native American decent. The name/logo really could have gone in a better and less offensive direction when it was purchased and renamed. read more
