The meatballs had amazing flavour and we loved how they were a bit crispy on the outside and stuffed with spaghetti in the middle. Then for mains, I had the pasta pillows, and my gf had the roast chicken. The pasta pillows were warming and delicious with a lovely combination of the pesto and ricotta cheese on top for the butternut squash filled large raviolis. The roast chicken that my gf had was also great and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The only thing extra she would have liked with the chicken would've been some sort of sauce like a mushroom gravy or something. We made it out to this great little restaurant in the upper village for cornucopia with another couple and it was a great meal. 5 courses and a different wine with each one. Haven't had any wine from Mount Lehman before but the pairings were very good. All 5 course were great but a couple stood out. The sambuca spicked prawns and the soup were beyond delicious ! You have to have the deep fried cheesecake but I'd split it next time cause after all that food and wine 1/2 a cheesecake would be more than enough I realized later that night lol The service was very efficient and pleasant. I would like to note this has nothing to do with the food, location or atmosphere, this has everything to do with Marilyn from Legs of Diamond. I made the reservation close to 5pm on Thursday for an 8:15pm reservation on Saturday. This is not for myself, this is for a clients friends birthday. I received an alert later that the reservation had been cancelled, and I texted the number asking what happened (which is how the reservation was cancelled). I received a call from the number with an explanation about the COVID out break in the reservation group and very quickly in the end was advised about the $20 cancellation fee per person before she wanted to hang up the phone. This part and what happens next is the reason I am writing a yelp review. I then asked, even for a COVID exposure? She then rudely advises the size of the restaurant, how the table of 6 affected them, how it is a family long weekend last minute and how this would financially negatively impact them. She advises that she was sorry and there was nothing she can do about it. I then share and ask, how was it possible to make a reservation on Thursday for 6 people last minute if it is really going to negatively impact? As you said it is family long weekend and mentioned how there will definitely be walk ins wanting a table. It's Whistler on a Saturday, the fact that she was implying that there are not enough people, yet at the same time, saying how busy of a time it is, is so hypercritical. She then cuts me off and says how she has to go because there are people walking in and asked that I do not call back. I completely understand the impact COVID has had on businesses. If this was a dead week or during the week, I can see how the restaurant was banking on our table. However, as she brought up, it is family long weekend, Whistler is busy, and they are easily going to be able to fill the space and more. Additionally, this is due to a true COVID exposure. I would honestly been fine with the cancellation fee if she could have just handled it better and was will to work with a reschedule or something, but Marilyn was not allowing it. It's a shame this is the first experience we are having with Legs of Diamond and unless something is changed, I cannot and will not recommend this place. read more

We were here during a summer heat wave and found the shaded patio dining very pleasant in the evening. The service was friendly and good and sufficiently attentive. My wife had the game burger (made with elk and bison). It was good size and served with very nice frites. She especially enjoyed the wild boar jam used as a condiment. I thought it a little dry and overcooked, but had to admit it was very delicious. I had the braised lamb ribs served with lentils, beets, carrots, and broccoli and a dark flavorful gravy. Not a dish for big eaters, but a perfect fit for the rest of us. We shared a bottle of the seasonal house red which was a light Pinot noir perfect for warm weather. For dessert we shared a baked banana with hazelnut spread wrapped in phyllo and served with a little Chantilly cream and berries. We had to rate the dish served to us as a very near miss. The phyllo was insufficiently cooked and was pale and gummy rather than crispy and golden. It also didn't have any of the usual buttery goodness usually found with phyllo. It was also only barely warm and packed brightness that a little salt might have added. It was almost great, but not quite. Despite the near miss on dessert, I'd still say that this place is well worth a try. read more

Legs diamond is located in upper village, which has less people and quieter than Whistler village. The restaurants are less crowed. The inside is well decorated; clean, nice and cute. The French onion soup is a twist from the traditional one, less cheese, more sweet, equally tasty. The frog legs were well breaded, moist, but there are only two, and the rest is thick fries. It should be called the frog leg poutine instead. I thought it was going to be a whole plate of frog legs, but quite disappointed when there were only two :( and I didn't really like the thick cut fries. The beef and bone was nicely presented, tasted delicious, it comes automatically in rare, unless you specify otherwise. The bone is stuffed with very salty shredded meat and mushrooms. Came to Whistler for a conference and needed dinner fast before getting some work done so opted to eat here as it's right across the street from the Fairmont. This is a small restaurant with a small menu but the food was good. I ordered the scallops and venison dish, which came with 2 jumbo scallops and a small piece of venison, and some steamed vegetables and some pureed vegetable. The venison and scallops were so delicious. The other stuff on the plate were ok, I needed to have some vegetables and steamed vegetables were fine not amazing. The server/bartender was very attentive and she made me a virgin citrus soda that was pretty good. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here, only wish it was faster. When I ordered, there were only 2 tables occupied (and the other table only ordered some desserts) but the kitchen took almost 40 minutes to deliver my food. read more

Frog legs were ok but the gravy on the poutine was super salty and bitter (they added wine I think). Steak was well done and dry, we pointed this out to our server and she helped us replace with something closer to medium rare... I'm so sad that I didn't see this place when my family was looking for a brunch place to spend our morning. Instead, we came here after our breakfast when we were on a stroll through the farmer's market right next to the Fairmont Chateau where we were staying. What initially caught my eye was their $5 caesar specials they had going on for weekend brunch. I was pretty full from my breakfast earlier, but after our stroll through the market my mom and I decided to come back here for some drinks. They also had $5 mimosas as part of the deal as well -- score! While we were sitting waiting for our caesars, we took a peak at their brunch menu. Damn. The minute we saw it we wished we had come here instead of spending the extra money at the hotel restaurant. They had a good variety of options, and from what we could see from the other tables the portions were decently sized. When my caesar came out it was garnished with a cheese curd and an olive, which I ended up giving to my mama. The caesar itself was super tasty and way better than the $18 hotel caesar I had the night before. I couldn't believe how good the quality was for how cheap it was. If you're staying at the Fairmont or decently close to the upper village, this is a cute little spot worth checking out. I'll definitely be back for their caesars and mimosas alone. Once we sat down and started looking over different reservations we realized this place would not be suitable for kids. READ THE FINE PRINT! You must cancel with in 48 hrs or they charge you $20/per person. So when we left a message to cancel and they called to confirm our reservations we told them we had canceled yesterday via phone message. No one mentioned that we would be charged...$100 bucks later?!! If we had known that we would have gone in for drinks. At minimum, the chic that called should have notified us of the policy... Update: So instead of losing $100 we chose to go. We had drinks, shared some food. Food was very good, ambiance was quaint, located in a quiet location. In our opinion not a great place for kids. In both positive or negative perspective, you know how one person can change your perception of a business? This is one of those. Came here for a meal with friends after enjoying drinks here two years ago. It's a small dining space - about ten tables. After we were seated, we waited a noticeable amount of time before our server came back. When she did, she simply asked "What would you like?" As if we had already been served water, drinks and had no questions about the menu. We ordered drinks and starters. She brought the drinks and vanished for a period of time. She brought the starters and one of two salads that had been ordered. She dismissed the question about why the salad was served with the starters with "It was ordered with the starters". OK. Ordered another bottle of wine. She vanished for a time. We reminded her. She vanished for another 5 minutes and returned with the wine and entrees. We are a group that generally tips well. At this point, the table discussed how to handle the tip. She had been treating us in such an off-hand way. Fast forward to the bill. We applied our modest tip and were done. Server was quite friendly now. One of the people noticed that we had been charged 18% with the bill. We had then added another tip on top. OK. Shame on us for not thoroughly reading the bill. The punchline. Shame on her / them for zero disclosure that the tip was included. No mention on the menu. No call out by the server. Just happy as can be to compound the 18% with our added tip. We tried this place last night after browsing a couple of options in the upper village. While not a bad meal, we certainly left a bit disappointed. The service was not good - it took 10 minutes for the bar staff to get us the bottle of wine we ordered, water glasses were left unfilled, and utensils were missing. The food was ok. We had a winter salad that would be more accurately described as a slaw, a good bowl of French onion soup, and we shared a main of venison and scallops. The main was underseasoned, and when we told the server this, they said, 'I'm sorry that you feel that way'. We ate at Legs Diamond mainly because it wasn't busy and we could have our dog with us on the patio. The restaurant is cute and the owner/manager? was quite nice. The waitress not so much. I started with an almost flavorless mojito. How do you do that? Anyway, on to the food. My husband and I shared the prawn Caesar to start. It was actually very interesting and quite tasty. My husband had the chicken for dinner and I had the pasta pillows. The chicken itself was good, but the potatoes tasted like yesterday's dinner. I know what those taste like since I'm an avid cook. Now on to the pasta pillows. Not good. If they were pillows, they were the kind you've had around the house for too long and they are really hard and flat. The texture was not good and they really didn't have much flavor. Oh, and my husband and I both had very upset stomachs afterward. I would definitely not recommend this place. I almost forgot to add that our waitress claimed to give us two full-size portions of the prawn Caesar and then offered to take the drink off of the bill for her "mistake." I believe she messed up and was trying to take advantage of tourists. I didn't have the energy to confront her. This place was overpriced, the waitress was not good, and they ripped us off. We were up at Whistler and got an unexpected chance to try out Legs Diamond for dinner. We were in Whistler for Cornucopia, an annual wine and food festival that has an array of events that showcase wine as well as other spirits like whiskey, beer, gin and sake. We had gone to a lunch event and had a little too much to drink to drive home straight away so we decided to stay for dinner. Our concierge recommended Legs Diamond and helped us to make a reservation. This was a good idea because this place can't seat more than 40 by my estimation. We arrived promptly at 6:30 pm right on time and we were seated right away. This cosy venue is casual fine dining. The people sitting next to us said that they got there right at 6 pm and they were a bit worried because they were the first ones in. It was busy when we arrived but still a few empty tables. We could see what was on the tables around us and the food looked good. The person beside me had ordered the bison and frites and it looked great so that's what I ordered and it was as good as it looked. I also had a taste of the soup of the day, a cream of cauliflower and shared an order of the meatball starter. Two big meatballs stuffed with pasta - meatballs and pasta inside out! Original and yummy. Everything was good, well prepared and tasty, but because we were driving home right after dinner no wine for us. We will have to go back for another dinner with wine because for a small establishment, it looks like they have a decent wine selection. Apparently a bunch of the cornucopia people has descended on Legs Diamond after the official Saturday events had finished up and it was a very late night for the staff. TLDR: Food is awesome! Not so much the cocktails... better then Araxi - Reserve ahead A welcome addition to the limited Whistler landscape of restaurants. A little hidden gem that I hope stays that way. Their menu is definitely off the norm and prepared with care and delicacy. It is a really small space (around 30 spaces or so) so reservation is recommended especially if you are more then 4 as there is ONE booth. Decent portions and good prices for the location and quality of food (it is Whistler Village after all). The waitress at this restaurant was so rude and disrespectful that we got up and left with a very bad first impression before we could even try the food. There was only one other table that was occupied at the time. When the waitress finally came out, my husband asked if they had a certain type of beer. She said, "No," and started listing several brands that were available. He then asked about another favourite of his, only to be sternly told that, "No, like I said, we only have the ones I already just listed for you," followed by, "I'll give you guys a few more minutes," when she just turned around and rushed off, cutting me off as I was about to order a drink for myself and ask about appetizer options. I raised my hand and yelled to her, "Excuse me," and I know for a fact that she heard me but she just ignored us. At that point, we just got up and left, walking right by her when she strongly avoided making any eye contact or acknowledging us turned in the other direction pretending to be busy. We were not interesting in commenting so as not to ruin our own evening/vacation and we just went to a restaurant in the Village where we were greeted and treated with respect. The server at Legs Diamond obviously decided that she'd had more customers that she could handle and wanted us to leave. We ordered the steak frites and new school Fish 'n' chips. The steak was dire and didn't even look real. Completely tasteless. Very small for the price and poor quality. If the pre-cooked size was on the menu, you might know what to expect but it's not. The plate is filled with a coleslaw of some sort. The batter on the fish was sloppy. The portion was small. It needed a few more minutes to be crispy. The inside was sloppy. again the chips and coleslaw was used to fill the plate. Made a reservation on our trip to Whistler. Our extended family have been here many times. We were a party of nine and were placed in this corner, large, excluded booth which was amazing. Our server was very charismatic. All of the China is different which is such an eclectic touch. Drinks were good. We ordered the Caesar Salad, Prawns, Mushroom Tortellini, Venison Carpaccio, and Winter Salad. The Caesar, Venison, and Prawns were exceptional. The winter salad was really fresh but nothing special (except the goat cheese croquettes were something else). The Mushroom Tortellini was very good and creamy but it was lacking salt and seasoning. It was a bit sweet and bland. We ordered the Duck, Chicken, Pasta Pillows, Lamb, Salmon, and Steak as our Entrees. I thought the Pasta pillows were in a kale pesto but to my surprise they were in a similar creamy sweet sauce to the tortellini. Again, very good but lacked seasoning and was a bit boring. The lamb was TO DIE FOR! So tender and flavourful with no farm taste (hopefully someone knows what I mean lol). The duck was great and so was the Chicken. The salmon was overcooked (by a lot) but because the fish was so high quality it still was delish. The Steak was good but a bit boring honestly. Finally, dessert. We ordered the fried cheesecake and baked banana but we were very tempted by the pear chocolate tarts. Both were incredible. My brother loved the fried cheesecake and ate it in record time. This establishment does not even deserve a 1 star rating. From the rude service, to the fast food quality food I am surprised this place is still in even in business. The kitchen is filthy, we were served water after waiting an exuberant amount of time for that and one of the glasses still had red lipstick on it from a previous customer, along with our utensils having old food on two of them. After our concerns went unnoticed with the staff, we turned to the table next to us and after chatting for a minute discovered they were having similar problems as well with no help from the staff. Here is the list: 1) the six of us sat down, it was not that busy, approx 5 tables for brunch, waitress took our drinks order (we all ordered either tea or coffee), she came back with the hot beverages but no spoons, no stir-sticks. And after reminding her twice, she came back with two teaspoons. 2) coffee is $3.50 each up and refill is NOT included and it was not specified on the menu nor the waitress advised us. So, each person head two cups of horrible coffee with shared teaspoon and the cost is $7 per person!! 3) we had toast and bread, it is not unreasonable to ask for peanut butter and jam. When I asked for jam, she asked me to follow her to get it myself. So I did it because i thought she was very busy but when I step foot into the restaurant (not even near the kitchen area, we were sitting at patio by the way) the manager yelled "what are you doing here?" so I answered your staff asked me to follow her. OMG... i was not trying to go behind the counter or near the kitchen. He had no reason to use that tone!! I rather get Tim Horton's which is 5 min drive away. OMG read more

Loved their food! Their menu was created by a chef clearly because their combinations of flavors was amazing, and the careful preparation by their chef was worth the wait. We tried the 3-course offer with steak/fries and chicken/gnocchi and were very pleased. The portions were nicely sized, the quality of the ingredients was great, and the dessert was fantastic and not overly sweet. The waiter was quirky and friendly. Be prepared to wait between courses and chat and relax, especially if there are other customers. It is worth it!
