    Beef & bone

Legs diamond is located in upper village, which has less people and quieter than Whistler village. The restaurants are less crowed. The inside is well decorated; clean, nice and cute. The French onion soup is a twist from the traditional one, less cheese, more sweet, equally tasty. The frog legs were well breaded, moist, but there are only two, and the rest is thick fries. It should be called the frog leg poutine instead. I thought it was going to be a whole plate of frog legs, but quite disappointed when there were only two :( and I didn't really like the thick cut fries. The beef and bone was nicely presented, tasted delicious, it comes automatically in rare, unless you specify otherwise. The bone is stuffed with very salty shredded meat and mushrooms. It could be a bit less salty. Overall, enjoyable!

Came to Whistler for a conference and needed dinner fast before getting some work done so opted to eat here as it's right across the street from the Fairmont. This is a small restaurant with a small menu but the food was good. I ordered the scallops and venison dish, which came with 2 jumbo scallops and a small piece of venison, and some steamed vegetables and some pureed vegetable. The venison and scallops were so delicious. The other stuff on the plate were ok, I needed to have some vegetables and steamed vegetables were fine not amazing. The server/bartender was very attentive and she made me a virgin citrus soda that was pretty good. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here, only wish it was faster. When I ordered, there were only 2 tables occupied (and the other table only ordered some desserts) but the kitchen took almost 40 minutes to deliver my food.

This place rocks! Not only is the inside of the restaurant stunning, the food is so flavourful and unique! The atmosphere is classy, casual and comfortable (checkout the ceiling when you're there). The drinks are delicious. Desert is a must. The owner, Greggy, is a great local chef. He makes all the recipes from scratch! Be sure to ask about the backstory to the restaurant name.

    $5 Caesar!

I'm so sad that I didn't see this place when my family was looking for a brunch place to spend our morning. Instead, we came here after our breakfast when we were on a stroll through the farmer's market right next to the Fairmont Chateau where we were staying. What initially caught my eye was their $5 caesar specials they had going on for weekend brunch. I was pretty full from my breakfast earlier, but after our stroll through the market my mom and I decided to come back here for some drinks. They also had $5 mimosas as part of the deal as well -- score! While we were sitting waiting for our caesars, we took a peak at their brunch menu. Damn. The minute we saw it we wished we had come here instead of spending the extra money at the hotel restaurant. They had a good variety of options, and from what we could see from the other tables the portions were decently sized. When my caesar came out it was garnished with a cheese curd and an olive, which I ended up giving to my mama. The caesar itself was super tasty and way better than the $18 hotel caesar I had the night before. I couldn't believe how good the quality was for how cheap it was. If you're staying at the Fairmont or decently close to the upper village, this is a cute little spot worth checking out. I'll definitely be back for their caesars and mimosas alone. Plus, their patio is perfect for people creeping, as it is the entrance into the market.

The Pettitor and I at Legs Diamond!

I went there opening weekend and it was fantastic. It's across the street from the Fairmont Whistler and has a very relaxed feel to it. One of the best parts about the restaurant is Sean Pettit's Dad is one of the Chef's! I had a few good drinks and also had the pleasure of meeting Sean Pettit himself! Very humble, happy and awesome guy. Check it out, it will not disappoint!

    Burnt crostinis

This place is not worth stopping here. I had the French onion which was weirdly sweet with burnt crostinis as the bread and the cheese was stuck to them so if you picked them out then you wouldn't have any cheese. (It was as if they took the crostinis that burnt and used them for the soup rather than throw them out). The "prawn Caesar salad" had 2 prawns for $16. The server was very friendly but she was the only server for the entire restaurant including the patio so I waited forever for the bill then my change. Maybe she thought I wouldn't want change???

First, there's plenty of seating. You come in, get a menu, seat yourself, and when you're ready, order at the counter. They will bring your food to you. We got a table outside in the sun. We ordered the Grants Platter for Two and shared it between three hungry adults and we still had a lot of leftovers (which were super tasty later)! My favorites from this platter were the brisket (so tender and just the right amount of smokiness) and the chicken wings with dry rub (fried to crispy perfection). The ribs and pulled pork were also really good, but since I prefer my barbecue without sauce, these didn't appeal to me as much as the brisket. I also liked the fresh and tasty mixed greens salad that we got as one of our sides--very balanced and delicious. The staff are super friendly here. Our waiter checked on us several times and even the chef came out to see if we liked the food. It was a wonderful lunch. If you're looking for a great meal in Whistler, definitely check out Hunter Gather!

We'd definitely come back again the next time we were in Whistler. We really enjoyed the outdoor seating.

Every time we're in the area we stop in a least twice - once as a family and again just for date night with my husband. I'm blown away at the food and drink prices (you can't beat them) . The food is pretty darn good and the drinks are the best. We came in for lunch and I ordered the Warehouse Mac and cheese which was a perfect conviction of cheeses and Roasted Red Pepper Alfredo Sauce on Cavatappi Noodles, and it was just spicy and flavorful enough. We also ordered the sun-dried tomato pesto penne and my son had the crispy chicken Caesar wrap - all were equally as delicious. Returning for drinks, i had a couple of the Sour Keys - (Smirnoff Raspberry, Peach Schnapps, Lemon, Sprite and Sour Key Candy) and oh man - they were dangerously good! Both visits the staff was very friendly and attentive, we never had to wait long, and the bar tender was on top of making sure we were always hydrated. Love this spot and will happily return again.

When you walk in you're promptly greeted by the hosts. We came mid week and tried their spring menu which was 4 courses for 33 before tax and tip. The server was prompt and attentive with a sincere, friendly demeanour. They were out of the tomato soup so we got the chowder and some chips and salsa (not pictured). Both were so delicious. The chips were ultra thick and reminded me of eating bugles as a kid, but way higher class. The salmon and chicken were way larger portions than we had expect , and done to perfection. Chicken is a little spicy but this is the type of service and cooking I liiiiive for! The place is part of Mark James group (Yaletown Brewing etc.), so one can already know what to expect if one has been to the other locations. Staff are friendly. Most of them seem to be Australian. Only complaint was that my friends and I couldn't be seated outside on the patio for some reason, even though there were clearly tables available (I didn't see any reserved signs). Not sure why the waitress insisted we sit inside where the place was maybe 30% full, but oh well. The place feels like a giant chalet, with the timber trim everywhere. They have a pizza oven, and the beer production tanks are visible over the kitchen area. There's even a toy train that does a circuit throughout the dining area (look up). One thing worth mentioning is that the bathrooms are on the 2nd floor, which may be a problem for some. Food here is Whistler pricing, so be sure to have deep pockets. I was told to try the High Mountain beef ribs, so there is now 1 less cow out there. 3 bones drenched in BBQ sauce, served on top of a pile of coleslaw and next to a pile of mashed potatoes (there is a fries option). Ribs were cooked well but the sauce was definitely on the salty side. I tried a piece of my buddy's prime rib and it's pretty solid. The portion size was definitely enough. I was stuffed. I also had a flight of their craft beer (4 glasses). As of the time of writing, they only have 8 beers available, but it was more than enough. Overall the place is worth a visit if one wants pub style comfort food.
