This review is just for the breakfast buffet, which is included if you have bonvoy platinum or higher and are staying at the Westin. I normally wouldn't leave this review, but they have a really great breakfast buffet! Drinks included coffee, milk, juice, and pressed cold juices. They have your usual breads and pastries, but notable things include the yogurt bar, quality of the fruit, the omelette / egg station, and the changing hot dishes (waffles, pancakes, frittatas, seasoned hash browns, etc). Service is very friendly and attentive despite most people getting the buffet. It was a really pleasant breakfast and also incredibly convenient if you're staying at the Westin and trying to hit the slopes early! Note: the line can be longer around 7:30-8am, especially on peak days. read more

Tasty baller restaurant in the 2nd floor of the Westin. Parking is pretty horrendous here, but at least it's available. Interior is very nice and modern. Interestingly enough, nobody used the outdoor patio which provides a great view of the mountain. Maybe it's only open in the evenings. Came here to try their brunch. Was told it was expensive but worth it. The food was tasty. All the fruits and vegetables were fresh. The eggs Benedict were crisp. Bacon and sausages weren't too greasy which was nice. They also make custom omelettes but I didn't try. Special mention to their blueberry pancakes. For those who don't do the buffet, they do have regular food options. However, the options can quickly surpass the buffet price if one wants to try multiple items. Also, we were told the "served" items are less customized and fancy. In other words, just do the buffet. Though my wallet hurt, my friends and I left happy and stuffed. I'd eat here again. Recommended. read more

This restaurant is part of the Westin Resort & Spa Whistler. If you're staying at the hotel I'd suggest settling the bill at the restaurant rather than signing it to your room. We charged it to the room and they added an additional food & beverages tax on top of our overall bill. The hostess and servers were friendly and welcoming. Salt Spring Island mussels: we loved the white wine broth, it was light and flavourful. BC Spot prawn spaghetti: we enjoyed the pasta, which was cooked al dente, but we weren't expecting the prawns to be so small. 10oz cab striploin: cooked perfectly rare and paired well with the roasted potatoes & veggies. read more

Came for breakfast buffet both mornings of my weekend stay at westin. Both times the servers were fantastic! The selection of fruit and pastries were great. Good, eggs and pancakes too! Food and cocktails were decently ok. The parsnip soup was great. However, took 30 min to get our cocktails from when we were seated when the dining room was half full. Our focaccia came out Luke warm. At all points the service was beyond slow to the point we assume there must have been significant struggles going on behind the scenes. We thought this would be more elevated than a standard hotel restaurant. There were also almost only families with kids. The service in this place is top notch, very attentive servers.we have the mushroom ravioli with fennel, tomato, mushroom broth, parmesan , the sauce was watery, it was ok but not what I expected,then got the Firerock Chicken Wings with honey garlic dip. That was really tasty. For the kids we got the fish tacos, i was surprised that was on the kids menu, it was really good, the mango salsa was yummy, adults will enjoy it too . I only had breakfast here and it was quite nice. The buffet is filled with lots of goodies. They have bread and gluten free bread, pastries, fruit, a yogurt bar, smoked salmon, cured meats, omelettes, made to order, as well as items in the chafing dishes (sausage, bacon, eggs, pancakes etc.). Not a lot of mind blowing food in Whistler I have to say, but here it was pretty good. Inside the Westin. We had the CRAB ARANICI 18 -- Nicely fried and fairly light but the crab was tasteless. I forgot I had this if it hadn't been because of the pictures i took. SMOKED BISON CARPACCIO 19. Delicious. I wouldn't share this with more than 2 people. I had the ARTIC CHAR 35. The fish was great, fresh and steamy hot. This dish made me stick to my healthy diet! the wild rice was tasty and the broth is rested on was very flavorful. My date had LINGUINE VONGOLE 29. The dish has lots of flavor that accumulates in your palate as you eat more and more of it. Although it was very oily, I found myself not minding that and having more and more of this pasta. Excellently al dente, with plenty of clam presence. Good. Service was excellent. We had an anniversary among the party and they delighted us with a complimentary dessert with chocolate writing. We were staying in Whistler Village and decided to have dinner at the Grill and Vine (which is in the Westin). The interior is modern and inviting. Service was really excellent. They have a good wine list although it is quite pricey. We ordered the Rodney Strong cab which was excellent. I had the mussels for an appetizer. They were really excellent. The mussels themselves were good--they were a little smoky and the white wine broth was great. I really loved the chorizo sausage and the bread them came with it--an excellent dish. For the main course I had one of the specials, tenderloin and scallops. The steak was cooked perfectly and was very good. The scallops were a little on the small side, but seared and seasoned perfectly. It came with a butternut squash puree--where I would have loved a bigger portion. For dessert I had some fruit sorbet. The mango and strawberry were both really nice. Grill and Vine is definitely worth a visit. read more

I am sorry to report our meal and dining experience was subpar. They have a limited bar as we asked for a few drinks using liquor usually stocked in any bar and they fell short. The meal was delivered poorly to the table with some meals coming first while others had to wait. At one point we had food but no utensils. I would not recommend this restaurant. It's a typical in hotel eatery which is not reflected in their high pricing. Here you do NOT get what you pay for. Our meal was over $700. We won't be back. read more

There really was no flavor to this small $21 salad. The crab cake was HORRIBLE. If there was any crab you certainly couldn't taste it with all of the filler- a huge $19 disappointment for one 'no-crab' cake. So this place is hit and miss. The service is excellent. The patio was lovely. The food was okay and inconsistant. The menu was fairly plain. The price was high. We went there two times because my friend owns a suite here and the dining room is 50% reduced. But after the second time we decided to grab some seafood and cook in our suite. So here is my breakdown at half off. The seafood pasta, and the mushroom pizza were really tasty and filling. We also loved the beef caparcio. What was a waste was the halibut ( it was tiny and overcooked, and the caprese salad. Honestly we felt ripped off at half off ... full price would have been 18 bucks. We barely got two spoonfuls each. And the menu was really simplified. 6ish pizzas, a hand full of of appetizers and mains and three desserts. We would have gone more but we didn't see much we liked. Get your act together Westin. For those prices you should be producing innovative and delicous food. read more

We visited for dinner on a Friday and had no problem getting a table for two (though it did fill up later). The food and service were great! Highly recommend the duck breast with lentils, veggies, and a delicious puree. Cooked perfectly. The beet and burrata salad was also amazing. My husband ordered a pizza and a cocktail from their old fashioned menu, both tasty. This seems like a great place for families or if you want a good meal without a long wait. As always Whistler Village was busy. We were lucky enough to stay in Westin and they have this for a restaurant. Awesome restaurant, with great food and great service. During our overnight stay, we pretty much ate here from breakfast to dinner. Oh and their Margaritas was awesome too. Their server Danielle, was uber awesome, she even took our photo. read more

My first morning at The Westin started off with a visit to their resident restaurant - the Grill & Vine - for breakfast. They offer a breakfast bar buffet - which includes a custom omelette bar and looks good - but is also VERY expensive - $32 to eat off the buffet! So I ordered an Omelette off the menu - the Smoked Salmon omelette - which also comes with Asparagus and goat cheese - I asked them to throw some spinach and mushrooms in - which they did. The food took a little while to come out - they were not very busy when I arrived. It took 15 minutes from the time I ordered until the food arrived. Which is not bad - but when you are hungry - it seems longer! The omelette was outstanding! About $19 and change for breakfast. While my omelette was very good, we opted for other places the rest of the week to eat breakfast that were a bit more affordable. read more

Everything was absolutely delicious, the only reason for the 4 star is that the pizza was extremely salty for our taste. Not sure if it was done by mistake or it's just salty cheese. Can't speak to the quality of the food. Since, even as hotel guests we were turned away at the door. The hostess stated they were "short on staff" and could not accommodate any more customers. The restaurant had only 4 tables occupied. Maybe this is their normal behavior, providing poor customer service; lack of respect with having the hostess turn us away instead of the manager taking on the responsibility of doing so. I'll start by saying the rib eye here is excellent. 12 oz of perfectly cooked medium rare Angus steak - nice cut, tender, juicy, well seasoned, and the sauce it came with was a great accompaniment. I would not hesitate to get this dish again. I also ordered a Kale, walnut, and apple salad to start and was glad I shared it because it was delicious but such a huge portion... So big in fact that I actually got a full off from it so couldn't finish my steak! Leftovers for later! Others in the group got a Caesar salad which was equally huge and could have also been a meal in itself, a carrot and Ginger soup, which was smooth and a nice subtle hearty, a seared ahi tuna steak which was a nice and light, but not very filling since it was a pretty small portion. The tomahawk pork was favored the lesat - it had some nice flavors, but was overcooked and my friend was a bit disappointed. Overall, we were pretty happy with the food, though service was a bit hit or miss. On normal occasions, the price point would be a bit higher than I'd normally pay but with my friend's discount, it was worth it. read more

My husband and I came here for dinner last night and were extremely let down. The service was excellent, so I was sadly disappointed when the food was completely average. Drinks were overpriced, but we expected that. We shared the cheese plate, a pizza, and the panna cotta. The cheese plate was good, but nothing extremely outstanding. The fig preserve was pretty good, but the brie and bleu were just ok. We had the Toscana pizza with soppressata salami, chorizo sausage, chili flakes. It was ok. The biggest let down of the night was the panna cotta, which was served with raspberries and passionfruit compote. The passionfruit was overwhelmingly tart and the panna cotta had no taste. Zero. It was bizzare. I cannot say I recommend this place and I definitely will never come back. read more

As we stayed in the hotel, we came everyday for breakfast as it was the most convenient for us. The service was ok and restaurant was big but there were areas around the buffet and dining hall that could have been a little more clean. Getting to the food, they had a good egg station (2 chefs making omelettes/frittatas/eggs Benedict of your choice), a bit of a decent fruit station but a sub-pair waffle/pancake station. The breads were good, hot oatmeal good but the juices were lacking a bit as they only had 2 flavors. Overall, the food that was there was good, but I was hoping for a bit better quality (waffle/pancake) and also quantity (fruit/juices) than what was there. Overall, for the price we paid it was good (as breakfast wasn't included in our stay, it came out to for 35 CAD/person for the buffet). Like I said earlier, the service good, food was ok and price was fair if you are near the base of the mountain and want to get something quickly before hitting the slopes, this place is worthy of a shot. Our server, Eduardo, was great. Food was really good, beer good, wine good, staff very polite. The only issue is our steak was a bit over done for 'medium' but it still tasted very good. I'm a beer snob, they only had two IPA's, but both were really good (one must have used citra hops, it had a hint of grapefruit to it. This is a great place for families that want a nice setting, good food and not breaking the bank. Is it cheap, no, is it stupid expensive...no, especially with the exchange rate. For less than $200 Canadian we had a very nice dinner for two adults, two kids drinks, appetizer, etc. Compare that to what we spend at Mama's Fish House in Maui and it's a good deal. Granted Mama's Fish House is on a whole different level of food quality, but the fact both are great with kids says a lot. read more
