The drink was extremely flavorful and tasted amazing. The inside was a definite island vibe feel and very relaxed. People had their puppies which were so adorable. After leaving I did a search on what a kava bar is and it's so much more than just a bar. It's meant to be a safe space to mingle and collaborate with people in your area, year round, alcohol free. This definitely embodied that, and I have to say that I was quite pleased with how I felt while I was enjoying my drink at the bar. I ordered food from a place across the street, walked over to Craft, order a coffee, it took 18 minutes, and then by the time I picked up the food and got back - my food was cold. Crazy work. All the other shops do it fine; Deeply, Stemma, Lineage. Framework etc - their average wait time is like 5-8 minutes once you order. Craft has some serious issue with the efficiency of their barista line. And I am aware craft coffee isn't immediate unless you're getting drip - I'm only ordering an Americano, its one of the easiest beverages to make. I will sometimes even people who ordered after me get something fancy and then get their drink before mine! And to that note, its not the best coffee. Its surely good, its quality; but they're not making the best stuff in town. If there's some extra steps or something going on, its not worth making me wait at minimum 15 minutes for a drink when there's literally no line, 5 people sitting down in the shop and 6 employees. It makes me not want to go to this shop ever, its just so unfortunately convenient to where I work that its THE place to go. So thats why I'm writing this - were in the same space and I want to see them improve their wait times. They've been consistently bad for far too long! I got 2 drinks here: an iced latte with honey syrup for my friend and an iced cider americano for myself. I forgot to ask for the americano decaf when I ordered, but they very kindly made it decaf when I caught them before adding the espresso. The latte was really good, and the honey syrup was really nice. The pastries from buttermilk bakery were amazing as always. But then there was the americano. I was so excited for this cider americano, I absolutely love cider and I had been thinking about trying it all week since I saw their seasonal menu on instagram. I got in the car, but I didn't try it until I was about halfway home, and that was a mistake. Now, friends, I am from Massachusetts, which is a country of great apple abundance. We love our cider, and we're all pretty aware of the dangers of bacterial contamination in the cider making process, and how you can easily create the repulsive tasting and smelling dream wrecking cider ruining disaster that is butyric acid. Butyric acid is what makes vomit smell and taste like vomit. So when you get butyric acid in your cider, it tastes like, you guessed it, vomit. And if you get that vomit taste, you need to chuck the whole batch or it could give you diarrhea and vomiting. This cider Americano very sadly tasted like vomit. While I was pretty confident in my assessment after taking many sips and wondering if I'd imagined it, I had my friend try the drink too, and he confirmed that it tasted like vomit. Now, if I'd called and they'd shown some remorse and maybe apologized and said they would look into it, then maybe I'd be giving a 3 or 4 star review, but that's how I found out that they don't have a phone number posted. So now I'm here, home with a coffee that I can't drink, trying to figure out the best way to tell these people that their cider is likely infected and could get people sick. I should probably send them an email. TLDR: perfectly nice looking place served spoiled apple cider drink and didn't have a phone for me to contact them to let them know. UPDATE: wow!
