As for the work: Jaffet carefully and thoroughly brush-cleaned our entire complex roof, did some minor patching, applied moss treatment, and cleaned our LeafGuard gutter apertures so thoroughly that one could eat off them, if that was one's thing. My experience was…read moreessentially perfect, or as perfect as one of the most stressful home purchases you'll make can be. I got four bids from local companies and while Pfeifer was not the cheapest, they had the best combination of knowledge, experience, and price out of the four. Sam's advice about the best underlayment and important details of the panel structure and flashing made Pfeifer stand out from the pack. Pfeifer scheduled the removal of my composite roof for the next time that the weather cleared. Hector and his crew were out here early every day, and they worked hard. They worked almost every day for about a week including coming in on the weekend when the weather allowed. Once the underlayment was on they waited about a week for the panels to get produced and delivered and then Hector's team was back out at my house daily for about two more weeks installing the roof. Higher level supervisors from the company like Christian, Martin and others were regularly in touch and visited several times to make sure that the quality of the installation was up to their standards. Since I don't really know much about roofs there were a couple times when I was worried about the way several details looked. Hector was consistently patient with my questions and every single time his explanation for how he was installing the panels matched or exceeded the manufacturer recommendations I found online. My roof is significantly more complicated than I appreciated at the start of the project, but by the end I was confident that each valley, pitch change, and vent was expertly flashed and sealed. There was a small amount of additional work that needed to be done around some siding on the house, and the quality and the cost of that work were both fair. Metal roofs are a craft, and the details matter for the roof's long-term performance. Once the roof installation was done I asked an expert roofer I know to come out and provide a consultation for me about the quality of Pfeifer's work. He doesn't think very highly of roofers in general, but he was quite literally floored by the multiple signals of extremely high quality work he saw on my roof. Hector and his crew are excellent at what they do, and the whole team at Pfeifer are professional. There is a reason that they have so few CCB complaints for such a long tenure as a company: you can trust Pfeifer to install your metal roof the right way.

It hurts the heart to see comments on this company who goes all out for the customer, does superior work while the comments seem so out of character to what I experienced personally. Once married to a building contractor, I know those dealing with concrete is one of the most stressful for both the customer and owner. I also asked about the 1 star rating when getting my estimate done and the bad memory of the supplier who failed to deliver a working product is still there even though it has been 8 years. due to the horrible mal function of the product, no longer used, I can imagine how upset the customer was. The employees at OCR are not skilled psychologists, but very serious minded concerning their craft, nor do they have a department to handle malfunctions as well as they have no over head bringing much savings in cost to the customer. Even though OCR did make it right, ate the cost, because of the horror of the situation with only owner/employees to handle the anger, I can understand how conflicts could happen. Personally, if I write a comment in anger, it may be exaggerated as I suspect the comment with the one star is.

I called lots of places to see who could do this kind of job and Leupitz contractors was one of the only ones who could. Frankie came out to do an estimate and was so nice and explained everything to us on how it would work and what exactly needed done. He said his team could do everything we needed done. These poor men were covered in dirt everyday while doing the work and yet still powered through it and came back everyday to finish the job. They checked in with us all the time letting us know what was done and what still needed done. This was not an easy job at all, but this team powered through it and got the job finished in just a few weeks! Leeann is wonderful with the scheduling, Frankie and Erick (plus many other guys) are awesome at getting the work done. Thank you for all the great work you did for us! We could not have done it ourselves. Highly highly recommend them for any house project you need done! Inside or out!

They even gave tips on how to care for our wood stove to avoid issues in the future. Long story: We came home last Saturday to a heater that was shut off and a very cold house. We got a huge fire going in the wood stove and we to bed, only to wake up at 11 to a house filled with smoke, and a chimney pipe that was red hot and spitting sparks. We called every chimney company in town on Sunday. Cascade was the first to get back to us Monday morning and they scheduled us for the very next day. Zac and Skyler showed up in the window time frame that was given to me, and they did great work! Really nice guys, super friendly, super helpful, and very professional. I called Jason Cravenho on a Wednesday to get a quote on replacing my roof. He normally uses an…read moreonline program to estimate the job, but trees were covering the satellite view of my home. He came out the next morning (Thursday) and estimated the job. His estimate was very reasonable, considering the extent of the job. The estimate included materials and labor for 42 squares of shinges, a synthetic underlayment, ice and water shield in the valleys, new flashing and edging all around, and a replacing all the roof vents and up to 2 sheets of plywood. The shingles are Owens-Corning Duration 40-year architectural shingles. The coming weekend was supposed to be rain-free, and I asked if they could start right away. He said he could start at 0830 Sunday morning. I picked the shingle color from a link on his website and printed off the contract he emailed me. He asked for half the fee up front. At 0830 Sunday morning he and his crew showed up at my house in Otis - an hour from his shop in Keizer. I gave Jason a check for half the bid and a signed contract, they climbed up the roof and started tearing it off. Jason estimated they would be done Tuesday evening. In a few hours they had half the roof torn off and had started putting on underlayment and the ice and water shield.. I had to leave on business. When I returned Wednesday afternoon the roof was done. It looks FANTASTIC! New metal edging all along the house, flashing in an area where there had been a leak, no more leaks around my gutters, some rotted fascia replaced and the whole thing cleaned up. Jason had sent me photos of the roof that morning, but in person was better. Jason also told me that an addtional 4 sheets of plywood had to be replaced. He also emailed me an invoice for the remainder of the bill. When it was all said and done there was an additional 1 hour of labor plus 4 sheets of plywood billed - an extra $205. Very reasonable for replacing the plywood, fascia, and a rotted 2x4. The next day his crew showed up again to re-clean. I had thought it was fine, but Jason had seen some things he thought needed cleaned up better. I sent the check for the balance with his crew. I would use Cravenho Construction again without hesitation. From contact to final clean-up was a week and they straight-up did everything they said they would do on time and for the amount we agreed upon. I couldn't be happier with this experience!

He told us he's going to make it right and even sent people out to assess the damage and determine what it would take to remove the staining from the ceiling. This dragged on forever; in the meantime, additional rainstorms showed that they had not properly flashed around the skylights. They did fix those issues, including replacing one of the skylights at no cost. But the ceiling issue was never resolved. It dragged on for years, and we tried to be understanding and patient. We heard claims that the insurance company would be involved to help rectify. Nothing came of it, and our texts were soon ignored. The ceilings are still water-stained.
