The good first: the pastries did taste fresh (not stale or frozen), and the chocolate éclair itself was genuinely tasty -- smooth filling, balanced sweetness, and the best item from my order. But the execution + value were disappointing, especially for the very high prices vs to prices and sizes for similar items in multiple nearby bakeries. Packaging / delivery issue: the two éclairs were put together in one box without being secured, so during transit the chocolate ganache rubbed off and smeared onto the mango éclair. For $7 per éclair, that's not acceptable -- they need to separate or secure them properly. Almond croissant: very small and had only a thin layer of almond filling with NO sliced/shaved almonds, which is not what you expect from a classic almond croissant! Raisin & custard croissant-many people think of as a "raisin + custard spiral", traditionally called Pain aux raisins (also known as an escargot). This one tasted fresh, but had no custard at all -- basically a raisin spiral without the cream component. Mango éclair: the filling was bright orange but tasted strongly acidic, extremely sour, more like citrus or an apricot/citrus gel than mango -- no real mango flavor or aroma. It didn't smell spoiled, but it was not what was expected based on the menu. Coffee: very mediocre, flavorless and arrived barely warm, definitely Do NOT recommend wasting money on that when even regular franchise coffee shops produce much better tasting coffee. Overall: freshness is there, but portion size, packaging for delivery, and flavor accuracy need improvement. I'd come back for the chocolate éclair only if they fix packaging, size vs price & quality control issues and will tighten up the recipes/descriptions.

I spent weeks trying to find a bakery who could create a custom cake for me. Weeks!! No one ever replied or was so slow to communicate but Pastry World Bakery has an excellent coordinator. I called them and within 10 minutes, I was able to tell Anastasia what I was looking for and what I wanted. We spent a few days confirming everything I wanted for the cake and wow wow wow.. They were able to deliver the cake from Brooklyn to Queens, on time for the surprise birthday party and the cake was AMAZING. All of my guests were so amazed, they loved the theme, the design, and most of all, the FRESHness of the cake. I provided them with images from Google/Pinterest to create the custom cake and they did 100% a fantastic job. I got chocolate cake, the frosting and cake was delicious! 5 days later and we are still eating the cake. I highly highly recommend ordering a cake from them. I asked for a lot and they delivered everything, down to the big sparkler candles. I'm beyond happy and all of my guests were asking who made the cake. The red bag of weed was not provided by the bakery, it just happened to be placed next to the cake. Pastry World Bakery truly made an exceptional cake, 100% recommend calling them and ordering a custom cake at least 2-3 weeks ahead of time. Ask for Anastasia!! Excellent communication

My go-to Italian bakery is Rimini, and they've rarely disappointed, so I was hoping that going…read moreoff-the-beaten-path wouldn't be a mistake. I ordered Nuccio's off the Too Good to Go app (a first for me) and got there a few minutes early. However, the app actually makes you wait until your scheduled time to click the button indicating you picked up the goods. The staff member seemed a little annoyed by the situation and even said they usually start the orders half an hour later, but I think they would have to make that correction on the app. I was worried she would pack mediocre goods for me, as the order was for a random bag of "leftovers," since she didn't seem to be in a good mood. However, I was hopeful when I left with one huge bag. I received three croissants, one chocolate frosted donut with cream inside, three brioche buns, and one muffin. The almond croissant was really good; I'd go back for it again. At Rimini's, their almond croissant is just almond flakes on the outside, but at Nuccio's they have almond paste on the inside of the croissant -- so delicious! I would steer clear of their donuts, it was very bland and the texture was no good; even Dunkin' has better donuts! The bread was acceptable in taste but had a really tough texture. The muffin was not memorable.

I've never been to this bakery physically. Interestingly enough, what made me look up this bakery…read morewas because I purchased some Italian Cookies in the market with their bakery name on them. I've had many Italian cookies in my life so I think I can be a fair judge. The Italian cookies made by Nuccio's just simply not very good. I can't pinpoint exactly what ingredient was in the cookies but it was off putting. It had a weird aftertaste to it. The only thing I Like about it was that it was crumbly and soft. Most Italian Cookies tend to hold up a little bit better and less powdery when you bite into it. The soapy taste has to go though. I rather eat Scotto's Italian Cookies.
