Picked up through doordash pick up. For about 13 bucks, I got crab rangoon and general tso's with a spring roll. Quite a deal! Plus one of the only chinese places in the area that allows you to pay online before, so you don't need cash. The general tso's chicken was an okay flavor (no spice), but upon futher inspection, I began to question if there was any chicken in it. While the portion was large, most of the chicken was actually fried breading. I counted only a few obvious bites of meat. I enjoyed the brocoli and rice though, and the shrimp roll was a bit fish, but alright. read more

I just moved to Brewerytown, and after a long day we were looking for something to eat that's close by. It was late, so most everything was closed, but we found Lee's Kitchen. It was easy to find a spot to park on Girard and walk over to Lee's. It's one of those places where you walk in the door and there's a big plexiglass wall and behind it is the person taking orders and the cooking staff. So no seating anywhere, but we weren't looking to sit, we wanted to grab and go. We placed our order and it took about 15-20 minutes, but they were pretty busy so the wait was expected. I could tell this is a favorite neighborhood spot for late-night eats, lots of people came by in their lounge clothes to pick up food then walk back home. They had the typical Chinese food on the menu, and they also had stuff like popcorn chicken, cheesesteaks, fried shrimp, chicken nuggets, Buffalo wings, etc. They had lots of drinks on display, candy, as well as cigarettes if you're a smoker. So typical almost bodega-style stuff. Once we got home the food was great. It was nice and warm, and just what we needed after a long day of walking boxes and furniture around. We had the sesame chicken, general Tso's chicken, spring rolls, and crab rangoon. The chicken was great, nice and crispy, not soggy like you get from some places. I was a little disappointed in the crab rangoon, there wasn't very much filling in them, instead they were mostly the puff pastry dough. The sauce for dipping was great, I was very happy with it. A lot of places will give you runny, watered down dipping sauce, but this stuff was nice and thick and actually stayed on when you dipped the rangoon. They did not give us fortune cookies, which really bummed me out. So after a long day we had two happy tummies. This will probably become our go-to Chinese spot in the neighborhood. read more

But I remembered seeing this place on 29th st and decided it'd be worth trying it out. We walked in and in all honesty it's a bit sketchy. The employee (owner?) is behind some thick (bullet proof?) glass. We put our order in for some chicken w/ broccoli and veggie lo mein. While waiting for our, the place was frequented by a bunch of folks in the neighborhood getting cigs, candy, soup, etc. It was a popular place. We got our food and headed home. I thought the lo mein was really good, but the chicken w/ broccoli was alright. I've had better. However, I'll definitely be back. Just received my order through doordash. I ordered General Tso, (wasn't spicy enough) but wow great taste. It came with the run of the mill eggroll, but the pork fried rice was the best I have ever had. The meal arrived fast, and portions were large. Great Chinese food for low cost. Also, if you're looking for some great french fries, they've got them. They fry them in the same oil used for their funnel cakes, egg rolls, cheese wontons, etc. so they have a sweet and excellent fried flavor. The reason I rate on the lower end is the service. They'll tell you it'll be ready in "10 minutes" and you'll go and wait at least an extra 5-10 minutes. After I stopped going at the 10-minute mark, I'd get calls telling me my food was ready. I'd go and no, it wouldn't be ready yet. I'd wait another 5 minutes or so. So, don't trust them on the time. I do think showing up speeds up the process in the long run though because once you've paid and they mark you as paid, they definitely go to work on your order. Wow! Incredible Chinese food. It is nothing fancy as it is a corner take out only kind of place complete with loosey cigarette sales and off brand single serving chip selections. But the General Tso Chicken, fried dumplings, and egg rolls (fabulous) were very good. Not only is the food very good and cheap, we met quite a few interesting people while we waited for it to be cooked, the most entertaining of which was Farmer. Great guy. He is a father of 15 with 57 grand kids (#53 was with him) and 4 great grand kids. You have a blessed day too Farmer, my man. Hope to see you around the neighborhood soon. This was the first place I ate when I moved here three years ago. I've probably visited 100 times since then, as it is our standard go to especially late at night. They are open until 3 am every day, even on most holidays (late Christmas dinner anyone?). I can speak for a few menu items I regularly get. Sweet and Sour chicken is the bomb dot com. The sauce is great and the chicken is fried but soft and fluffy delicious breading. I also recommend the crab ragoons. These are a sweat cream cheese filled fried pastry. The other usual chinese fare (General Tso's, Fried Rice, Broccoli dishes) are all good as well. The only complaint I'd have is the other riff raff that stumble in here late at night. I've met some interesting characters but no one has ever given me any trouble. This place often will call me to let me know my food is ready, and they definitely have my number and order memorized no matter who is working the counter. The girls there recognize me and meet me with a smile and good attitude when I walk in. Check out Lee's, you won't be disappointed. P.S. Don't let the bullet proof glass and all deter you. This review comes after my 4th visit to this place and Ive had it with how this food tastes and makes me feel. Slimy lo mein, horrendously salty and poorly prepared fried rice. There were three pieces of chicken in my lo mein tonight and while i was at first mad i halted my disappointment because i was just thankful i would have less a chance of getting sick. Nothing special, average Americanized Chinese food. My boyfriend and I only get it spur of the moment when we don't want to drive anywhere since it's within walking distance. Fried rice can get pretty greasy. Sweet and sour chicken is mostly dough and generals tsos chicken is just okay. I would recommend coming here if you aren't looking for anything special, just something cheap to hit the craving. read more

Pretty terrible Chinese food, even for a hood spot with the bullet proof glass. The veg lo mein was edible but everything else I've ordered from here has been disgusting or super mediocre. The prices were the only thing keeping me as a repeat customer, but I found out the hard way they have recently raised prices dramatically. Extremely mediocre fried pork wanton just shot up to $5.50 when just the other day I got it for $3.50 there. When asked about it the young lady working the window let me know prices are now up. There's a few other china houses in the area open late, I'll have to give them a try. read more

I'm so happy I found this hidden gem. You can get extremely cheap, delicious, authentic home-cooked Chinese food. The snow peas are awesome as is the chow fun. This place has better food than many of the more expensive restaurants in Chinatown. And it's open super late! Definitely best Chinese food restaurant in the area. Ingredients taste pretty fresh. Broccoli and veggies in veggie fried rice are crunchy. I never, post-eating, ask myself, while staring at my reflection in the mirror, "what have I done?" In fact, i feel pretty good about myself. Staff is friendly. I will say though I don't think I've ever exchanged a word with the employees that wasn't directly related to the food transaction. Service can best be described at brisk.
