We had a Trex deck installed 11 years ago. It was installed by a Trex certified contractor but the Fascia was installed flush with the deck boards and not recessed. Leaves and crud would get wedged between the Fascia board and the deck boards. The Fascia would warp and have gaps at the ends. We wanted to extend our deck five feet and have the Fascia recessed under the deck boards. Lee came out and looked at the job and understood the Fascia problem immediately. He took measurements, checked to see if the decking material was still available and gave me a bid. He and his crew arrived promptly at 7:30 each morning during the job. He had to modify the framing to allow the Fascia to be installed under the deck boards. He reused the existing material and bought new Trex decking and Fascia where needed. I truly cannot recommend Lee and his crew enough (seriously, all of my neighbors now have his number). After really poor experiences with past contractors, Lee was incredibly understanding and gracious with our many questions throughout the job. From the first meeting, to the end of the build, it is clear that Lee cares about his clients and the work that he does. Finding a contractor to rebuild our large 800-sf deck had been a nightmare over the past few years. We had one lined up who kept raising his quote, a few who never bothered to give us a quote, even after coming out and measuring, and one from across the Sound who bid three times the average cost for the job with a big, smug smile on his face. Then I found Lee Lewis. Lee came out and discussed the project with me, and immediately I got a vibe from him that this was a true craftsman who took pride in his work and wasn't looking for anything more from the job than providing excellent, quality service at a fair price, as well as making me a very satisfied customer. Lee's quote was right in line with where I had estimated it ought to be, allowing for inflation, and after checking out his great reviews, we booked him for the job. Lee estimated he could start in mid-May, and that's exactly when he and his assistant, Bradley, showed up to begin work. Their communication skills are top-notch, quickly letting me know of any issues that cropped up so a quick solution could be agreed upon and executed. I don't like to micro-manage the contractors I hire, and with Lee, you absolutely won't have to. But often, when I did glance out back to check their progress, I would notice them discussing the job, ensuring they were on the same page, or re-measuring here and there to make sure everything was exact and to a high standard. When I would ask them about something that confused me, they explained it to me in layman's terms that were easy to wrap my head around and made sense, and always with a friendly attitude. Early on, Lee asked me if he could alter the plan from the pre-existing footprint to move the stairs a few feet over and eliminate one of the angles. This would not only save time and expense, but wound up saving us money on the rail system, as well as expanding the area at the top of the stairs which gave us room to place our BBQ there, something my wife was super happy about because it made it much more convenient for her outdoor cooking. And we hadn't even asked for that. Lee just visualized a better design and ran it by us. After a brief discussion, we saw the advantages and gave our approval. From our initial consultation with Lee's Enterprizes to the finished product, the knowledge, careful craftsmanship and attention to detail during the project were as good as can be. The crew arrived every day promptly at 7:30, ready to work. Our 50 year old T111 siding had seen better days and Lee's crew carefully removed it. Lee knew without that siding in place the framing structure was weakened, and his crew installed new 1/2" plywood to restore the strength before installing the cement fibre siding. The exact measurements and cuts they performed on the plywood made it very tight fitting with almost no gaps around windows and doors. The siding and trim pieces were even tighter fitting - leaving gaps only for expansion/contraction. All of the flashing was expertly installed to insure no future internal leaks that could cause rot. The original deck had been rebuilt once, but not properly. Lee re-engineered the support structure for the deck, and it is much better now than when the house was built - and I'm a retired engineer. Lee's craftsmanship, care and attention to detail were on full display as they built the beautiful new Trex deck. Lee's a platinum Trex installer, and Trex guarantees the workmanship on their decks for twice as long if you use a platinum installer. I've seen a lot of contractors use laser levels, but these guys put in the time consuming work to ensure the structure is perfect before installing the decking. Our deck was installed using a picture framing technique, so there are no exposed ends of any deck boards. I started calling Lee "The Professor" after they were here just a few days. It's not just his knowledge, but his dedication to doing things right that sets them apart. We had Lee and his crew out to do 2 large concrete pads, and were incredibly happy with the service. The work itself was great, but also they just casually did a lot of other things - like we'd asked them to throw the excavated dirt out back, so we could fill some holes back there, but they just ended up filling (and tamping!) all that themselves! They even rehung this janky door leading to one of the work sites that we half thought we'd have to rework entirely, and now it swings perfect. It was lots of little stuff like that, that we'd never have expected of them, but they just did. I guess because it was in their way, or they wanted to do it right. That kind of work ethic went through everything, and of course into the concrete pads themselves, which came out great. Would absolutely work with them again. read more

After moving to Port Orchard, WA, we wanted to replace our existing 12 ft X 12 ft cedar planked backyard deck with Trex brand decking and add a 23 ft X 20 ft Trex extension of that deck. While attempting to get bids from many contractors for this work we encountered all sorts of negative issues ranging from missed appointments,no callbacks to messages left on voice mail, clear lack of experience and/or knowledge, verbal bids not in writing, and even one contractor who provided a bid by e-mail based solely on a picture of our back yard that we sent, never visiting the site at all. The bids we did receive were much higher than we expected. We found Lee's Enterprizes on the Trex website where he had stellar reviews from others he had worked with.
