Final Touch Showroom came in and appreciated the value of the existing setup and came up with a proposal that preserves one of the most unique parts of my house. The design met my expectations. The quality of the work was good. They did struggle a little bit on timing, but the communication was good throughout the project. Before the project was done, there was a minor water leak discovered, and they were out here the same day with a large crew and they fixed it, even though it meant taking apart a lot of what they had been working on. They have one skilled painter who has a finer eye for detail than any other workman I've interacted with. He came back multiple days because the rain was interfering with his paint job, and he redid some pieces of work that others completed in a less diligent manner. The end result is I can trust what they've done. Cost-wise, they weren't the cheapest, but they are an established business with insurance, and they do things right. And they went above & beyond expectations with design suggestions, and they threw in some vacuuming and yardwork as well to ensure the house stayed clean and the yard was presentable. Sharon and Liam were a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend them for a complex home remodelling project.

Together, we brainstormed with him on a new layout (including custom planter boxes around the perimeter). Within a week, the Sea Renovation crew had demolished the old deck, and three weeks later, the project was done -- right on time, just like the estimate we'd gotten. Steve came out and bid the project and did initial measurements where he walked me through the entire process and all the challenges we might face. He also provided great feedback about tweaks we could make from our initial idea to make things even better. After he left the site, Rescom set us up with an online portal where we could easily track all progress, make payments, and talk directly to Steve about the project. It was the best all-in-one experience I've had during our entire home renovation this year. Steve continued to be great, helpful, and responsive as we waited for the next steps in the project. When it finally came time for the installation, we had Dennis on site as our one man miracle worker. I couldn't believe how efficient and effective he was as a one man installer. He asked all the right questions out of the gate to make sure his work cutting and adjusting the railings didn't impact our day or that of our neighbors. They were one of the first to reply and set up a consultation. I set up an appointment. Received a phone call that I missed. I called them right back and a man answered rudely asking why I was calling... I politely explained I was returning their phone call and he still questioned me as why I was calling, short tempered. They were very specific to need to meet at my residency and needing my address apparently to meet but I was fine with meeting them at a close destination. They arrived on time, and I quickly realized the man I spoke to on the phone that was very rude was the guy that was pitching that he would be the GC of our job. He was persistent that he wanted to speak to my husband, as if I am not capable of making a decision if they are someone we would like to hire. I feel like he was overselling his capabilities of doing our job and he walked into that consultation as of needing to show me he was the boss. I need a GC that's capable of communication and fulfilling the job. Their tactic was very skeptical. I will give it to them, that they were quick to try to pick up a job, and they arrived on time and I was able to have a cordial short conversation with them to know they were not going to be our general contractor. He gave me a ball park bid. The price was higher than what I felt they were capable of, and higher than most other contractors. They also claimed they had a reputation with the local banks, but they wanted us to be the dealer. Maybe good for small out of pocket jobs??? But definitely not new construction builds that may require a lender, unless you are doing an owner build. Overall, based on my brief experience with them. Don't waist your time or money. Lack of trust in their ability to complete a job smoothly. This review is based off their communication skills.

We were initially recommended to a few contractors that specialized in restoration from leaks but started to feel uncomfortable with the process and like they were all trying to take advantage of us via the insurance claim. A neighborhood Facebook group pointed us to Chermak with consistent reports of them having great service, but also a fair price and staying on time and on budget. I was quickly connected to Angel the project manager and she was able to come out to our house that week for an inspection. She immediately built trust with us and showed a genuine care for wanting to get us back into our home (we had been out already for 3 months). We trusted our gut and quickly got to work with Angel and Chermak and getting the ball rolling on the scope of work to be done and approved by our insurance company. And to risk the obvious pun here, Angel was an Angel, there's no way this would have gone how it did without her, for all that she manages and does she's very efficient and good at her job and really absorbs a lot of the stress and difficulty that is common to this kind of work. She also was very reasonable with us in not upselling, offering suggestions where things could be easier or money better spent, which helped with our trust. Fast forward to the working starting EARLY (which was a good thing) and not only completing on time but even a week EARLY than what was planned, so exciting for us. Kim from the design team helped us get our plans together for the bathrooms to achieve what we really wanted out of them and set the plans in place. Tyler was our GC for the 8 weeks of restoration and I selfishly don't want to tell everyone how good he is because then everyone will want him. We were concerned about having so many people in our home and around our stuff, but he so quickly made us feel comfortable and was adopted into the family. He also really listened to us and understood our wants, needs and particular requests as the bathrooms were constructed, he knew it was important to us things be done the right way and was willing to take the time to see it through. He's also just an all-around good dude and we miss having him here. I've given many referrals since our job wrapped to other prospective clients for Chermak and we intend to hire them again when it's time to remodel our kitchen. Our job was not without any issues but they were determined to do the right thing and see us be happy with the end result, which is a really great experience in this kind of arrangement.
