I hired Olympic Decks for a 12x15ft deck project on the side of my house. After checking quotes from 3 other deck companies, we decided to go with Olympic. Their quote was a little higher than the average compared to the others, but the reviews and pictures they shared of their work convinced us to try them out over the competitors. We're very glad we did. After our initial quote, we visited the showroom in Tukwila and choose our colors / style of our deck. Dmitri was helpful and patient with our questions. After we signed the contract, he was responsive in communicating, and even let us change the start date for the contractors to show up. They were working at our house two weeks after signing. Roman and Andrei (sp?) were the primary contractors, and were super talented and detail-oriented. They spoke almost no English (they came from Ukraine like 6 months ago), but they were proactive in seeking input throughout the project when questions arose, and were clearly proud of their work. We used google translate to stumble through talking. Our project took 5 days to complete, from demo - foundation - deck - finishing touches - junk removal. Dmitri came by at the end to answer any questions and ensure we were satisfied. 10/10 experience, would recommend. read more

I just wanted to give a shoutout to Olympic Decks and the fantastic job they did on our backyard deck replacement. A 3-day turnaround (after materials arrive...only a 1.5-week wait). The craftmanship FAR surpasses the original deck construction. Great communication, professionalism, and free estimate (with color choice samples available to view). Full cleanup as well. I let our deck settle for over a year before writing a review. In my opinion this is sub par work. Gaps I pointed out at the end of constructs came back (they just covered they up by adjusting things so they didn't appear after construction) They did not build to the plans they commissioned and provided. Plans called for 24" deep cement footing and they poured 13", plans called for 12" wide and they poured 8". Plans also called for tensioners they did not install. Fascia warps and bends out and gaps aren't properly done in some places causing dirt traps that are hard to clean. read more

We highly recommend Olympic Decks! We asked them for a quote for resurfacing our back deck that had peeling paint and rotting lumber. They came quickly to listen to what our vision and our goals. They offered friendly, gentle suggestions where we felt unsure, but never pressured us to do anything. We received the incredibly detailed quote and Dimitri quickly responded to a couple of clarification questions we had and tweaks to the plan to keep the project in our budget. I was really pleasantly surprised at how quickly Dimitri responded to my many questions. We decided to move forward, and Dimitri came to get our color choices- he was very patient as we waffled in our decision making. We were very surprised when Dimitri told us they could start work the very next day! We were anticipating a long wait since summer is near, but as luck had it they had the supplies available and a crew ready to go. The guys that came to do the work had the old deck demo-ed in record time and the whole project was done in two and a half days. The level of detail and precision is amazing. They tolerated our frequent questions with lots of grace. My naturally curious husband frequently went outside to admire the progress and never felt like he was intruding or unwelcome. The crew cleaned up nicely and hauled away all the demo lumber and the little amount of waste leftover. They even got rid of some old shutters we hadn't had time to take to the dump ourselves! Dimitri was either on site or checked in with us every day of the project. I really appreciated that Dimitri came back for a "final walk through" before collecting the final payment. He touched up one weird spot of paint on our house left behind from the old deck and wanted to make sure we were totally satisfied with the project-- and we are!! He even touched up a paint spot that had nothing to do with the deck- it was around a light fixture we replaced after painting our house. Dimitri noticed and touched it up to make everything look perfect. Dimitri and Team did a great job on our deck this summer. Upon request they came out to do the demo work earlier than the supplies were in so I could level the ground and do some dirt work I wanted before they started the build on the new deck. We were very pleased with the craftsmanship and love that they had samples to choose from (went with the Trex product). They also poured a concrete slab for a hot tub (which is on backorder). We had a deck on our house when we moved in that was built by the previous owner, but it became unsafe pretty quickly, and with two kids around, we needed something more solid. We live in Bellevue and have done a lot of work to our house the past couple years and have worked with many contractors. This company was by far (not even close) the best contractors we worked with. On time, responsive, fantastic craftsmanship - they knew what they were doing. We had an issue with the township permits but they took care of everything. Icing on the cake - the ONLY contractor we've worked with that made sure their work area was spotless when they were done. We almost went with another solo deck contractor that was a little cheaper but so happy we went with Olympic Decks instead. Would definitely recommend to anyone. read more

We had a terrible experience with Olympic decks. They were supposed to come and do an estimate on our home on a Saturday, and they never showed up. We called multiple times and left messages but no one ever showed up. I sent a follow-up email to see what happened. I received no response. We called on Saturday about two hours after the window had closed, and she said she would try to get in touch with the person coming to see our home. No one ever showed up and no one ever got back to us, including Ion, the person we were emailing. We will definitely not be using this company or referring them in the future. I needed to enclose an existing balcony-deck on the upper floor of my house, so that my cats could go outside and not run away, or get run over. The project also required a transparent roofing material, and flower-boxes surrounding the entire balcony. Also there was an existing cat-enclosure at ground level that needed to be improved. Terrible experience with this company. I ordered a deck on cedar. They were fast at building, but the problems started to appear right after finishing. They left several gaps in the joints, missed some facia and some of the boards they provided had cracks or started to crack within a couple of weeks after installed. They provided the boards, so we complained with them about the quality of the material. The manager, Dmitri, justified the cracks saying that "it's wood and it cracks", sometimes even smirking at us. After weeks of complaints, they came and fixed some gaps and a couple of boards. Several other boards (and posts) were cracked, other gaps appeared and we had to continue complaining. They came back last week with another 3 boards and said that would be it, even though the problems with the posts, boards and gaps persist. The person responsible for building the deck was apparently new to the company and at no point any senior person came to check and verify the quality of the work. I tried last time to have them fixed but the manager (Dmitri) said they did more than any other company would do. Be no fool: they don't provide a good quality work or quality material and tou have to spend a lot of time asking them to do the work they were supposed to do. If they build good decks I'll never know. I requested an estimate online. An appointment was set up by email within a few days. Two guys came out to the property. The one who appeared to be in charges was not a good listener. He was focused on what he wanted to do and not what I was saying. He gave me the impression that he was in a hurry and I had no knowledge of anything. He said they were going to take measurements and leave, basically I wasn't needed. He did not give me a business card or nothing. When I received the proposal it was cumbersome to understand and missing key items I wanted ( like steps added at a certain area). Needless to say I replied to the email with all my comments and questions. I tried several times to send ( using reply) and the email came back undeliverable. I tried several different ways with no luck. So I called to get a valid email address. After several rings the phone was answered with a quick greeting and without a breath placed me on hold.
