My first time at Lee's this morning and I must say It is quite rare to feel so pressured to make a choice and I had just arrived at the counter. The person serving me seemed very impatient and aloof. The donuts were really good but slightly overpriced and I will likely never go back. read more

Had an absolutely great maple donut. Try to come earlier in the day to catch them while they're fresh and for a wider variety because their popularity helps them sell out quickly! read more

Theyr ok Some donuts have baking soda after taste and greasy Poor customer service- there were three people in front but only one was taking orders while the two girls are busy sweeping the floor and counting money and the customer line up was insane read more

Perhaps today was not the day to go. Even before ordering, the staff were not in a good mood to deal with the crowd lining up. There was no signage of where the line starts and we were served after the people who came after us. They were lined up by the cash register - which we were told by the angry staff member the line starts in the other side in an unpleasant manner. The regular honey dip donut wasn't all the hype we thought it'd be. It was greasy-wet on the side it was sitting on the tray but it was soft and not too sweet. Not sure if I'll go back just because of the staff with a 'tude and the donut wasn't what I was expecting. read more

Had high hopes for this place as it's such a well known donut place and has been featured on news articles and TV shows. Honey dip was nice, light and airy but nothing too amazing. Had a Bavarian cream as well. Unless you told me it was cream filled I might not have even noticed. I kept going through the donut expecting the cream and there was only a smidgen of cream near the end of the donut. Honestly, quite disappointed. Might go here again to try other flavours if I'm in the area but definitely not my favourite donut place in Vancouver. read more

The donuts remind me of certain Hong Kong style Chinese donuts. A bit savoury and a bit sweet. Definitely worth a try but I prefer donuts from Lucky's instead read more

Delicious Donuts! We visited Grandville Island and ran into Lee's Donuts. The smell was so inviting that I had to get Donuts. My wife had a strawberry glazed donut and I had the sugar jelly filed donut. It was so fresh the jelly was still warm on the inside of the donut. The outer part of the donut had a light crunch to it, which I loved. I love fresh donuts! These are definitely worth it! read more

Staff there is great. Friendly. But let's get to the good stuff. The donuts are delicious. Tried the honey glazed donuts. They were nice and fresh, soft and flaky. It's definitely something you should try. read more

These donuts were very delicious! They remind me a bit of Round Rock donuts in Austin Texas. The honey dipped donuts were good but my favorite was the jelly donut. I didn't care for their chocolate glazed ones or the chocolate crunch. But the best part.. we bought donuts here today and I dropped one accidentally. When I went to get 2 more jelly donuts I told the girl because I thought it was funny/silly that I dropped one accidentally and she said "well that's really unfortunate. But that's why you will only pay for one. We don't like something like that happening to anyone!" So she only charged me for one after double checking how many I dropped. I thought that was super sweet of her! read more

I love the glazed donuts here especially when they're fresh and warm!! Hit them up on a Saturday morning.

OMG. I will never buy anything from this place. My wife and I were taking a walk around 10 pm and peeked through the window to see what was there. Through the window, we could see about 5+ mice running around, jumping on the equipment, crawling on the shelves, running along the floor, and just having grand time looking for food. The next night, we decided to see if this was just an anomaly or actually a big problem. The small opening that we looked through the night before was now covered with cardboard. Very suspicious that the window to a donut shop has to be covered so that you can't actually see the preparation area. read more

A good donut but nothing mind blowing. We had the honey donut which was fine but no more amazing than other glazed donuts I've had. They have some intriguing flavors but other than that it's a nice snack for munching on while browsing what the rest of Granville Public Market has to offer. Quick and easy and located next to one of the entrances. read more

Best donuts in Vancouver. I have to say their honey dip is the best I've tasted, puts Krispy Kreme to shame. If you're lucky you will get a fresh warm donut....soooo good. Their coconut cream is delicious too.....this place is dangerous to my waistline. read more

Amazing donuts!! Loved the honey glazed ones especially! And, at $13.25 for a dozen of homemade donuts, it can't be beat!!

I can't believe I've never reviewed this devilishly yummy place. I eat a "honey dip donut" (who are to die for and heavily addictive (you've been warned)) at least once a week. With 70 employees taking turns to buy 6 boxes of those weekly (sometimes twice) I am not surprised we all fail to keep to our New Year's resolutions, so... none of us make resolutions anymore. I guess we burn some calories by running to the kitchen to grab a warm delicious "love handle" waiting to happen. At least I know who to send my bill to if I ever need a "coronary artery bypass graft". read more

If you ever want an amazing donut and T. Ho's isn't cutting it (it's not cutting it), head here. This ain't some assembly-line, frozen mass-produced deep-fried pastry, this is the real deal. Fresh donuts made right there, every day, and for a great price. I usually pick up a glazed and a lemon jelly every time I visit Granville Island. Perfectly soft and chewy, not dry in the least, but not too fatty (like that well-known donut chain with the initials K.K.). Deliciously glazed, and if you're lucky, still warm. I would eat these every day if it wasn't guaranteed to make me fat. Now I went and made myself crave it. read more

I've been coming here for years to get my donuts and although they're not quite as good as I remember them, I love a light, fluffy donut! Get one (or two) when they're fresh because that makes all the difference. My favourite treat are a bag of fresh sugar-glazed donut holes. Heaven. read more

I think Lee's Donuts are better than Tim Horton's, but I think I am going to follow Brian K's advice next time. I've had better donuts and he's right, there are better ways to enjoy fat and calories at Granville Island. I'm looking forward to doing more research on that and will report my finding back on Yelp to help justify my sweet tooth. read more

These donuts are just like Grandma used to make! They are a little crispy on the outside, with a dense, but soft and chewy interior. These are hefty donuts! The way they should be made, and not overly melt-my-teeth-out sweet, either. Perfect. Granted I only tried one, which was cinnamon, it was still one of the best donuts I have ever had. read more

Sugar rush! I have never had a better doughnut. Ever. Krispy Kreme? You must be kidding. Tim Horton's? Don't even start... The cakey atrocity they sell at Starbucks? Oh hell no... Lee's Donuts is the real deal. These are fresh made, fresh cooked. And so tasty. I've never tried the crepes. They're probably good, but I come here for the light but substantial honey dipped. read more

The donuts here are perfection. I always get the simple honey glazed donuts, cause they're just that: Simple. And classic. And delicious.

I don't know what happened. After all these amazing Yelp reviews, I was so excited to try Lee's Donuts. I was ready to get some doughnut loving on. The strawberry doughnut I had tasted dry and didn't do much in terms of flavour. A big disappointment compared to Cartem's and Lucky's. Maybe it was because we went in the evening, so the doughnuts were more stale. So perhaps that's the lesson, come earlier in the day for a fresher batch. May have to try them again, someday! read more

I have trouble believing the ratings and reviews that I'm seeing here. For me, Lee's positively makes *the* best donuts in the city. I've yet to come across anything quite as fluffy and yet still substantial. I can't say I've ever had Krispie Kreme, but I do think I've sampled most of the other major players in the area. And as far as I'm concerned, none of them can hold a candle to Lee's. read more

Saw a review that this is a place to visit while at the market. It was so good! Bought a bag of frozen donuts to have for the week and got a long john. My husband had the honey dip donut. I'm kicking myself for not getting more than I bought. I took a bite of the honey dip and it was delish. The long john I thought would be like the long johns we have in Hawaii but it wasn't. Hawaii's long john has a filling in it. Anyway, Lee's long john was still good. It's a BIG A$$ donut with maple on top. The donut was krispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Donut could last for a couple of days. Wanted the fritter but that was too huge. Definitely a place to go back when I go back to Vancouver. read more

We don't visit Granville Island very often - parking a few blocks off the island was advice some reviewers gave and we are glad we heeded. We didn't come to the public market for the donuts but having a Lee's jelly filled donuts for the first time was worth the trip by itself. As many have said it had a nice crispness to the outside (made better with the sprinkled sugar and soft and fluffy on the outside. Perfect sweetness to the jelly filling. We've tried other donuts around town including Lucky's which we really love. For the price and the fresh ingredients. I prefer Lee's. We will be back! read more

Can't go wrong here! Classic, well-made donuts that are the perfect amount of light and doughy. It was hard to narrow it down to just two but the classic glazed was scrumptious and the Dutch crumb was a treat!! Will definitely come back next time I'm in Vancouver. read more

I wish I had more donuts while I was here... Husband and I split the honey dipped donut because we were on our way to brunch and didn't want to eat too much beforehand. But geez, this donut was so good. It was SO soft and fluffy - I've honestly never had a donut this fluffy before. Must try! read more

I have only tried the Glazed (usually the only donut I will eat) and the jam donuts. I loooooved both. 100% better than Krispy Kreme! They have a good assortment of donuts and if I was less of a picky eater then I am sure I would have tried a better variety of their products! I recommend an afternoon down at Granville perusing the stalls whilst sipping fresh lemonade and walking out with at least one item from Lee's Donuts! read more

Best donuts in the city. The cake donuts are so-so. Everything else is amazing. Honey dip and cinnamon bun are my favourites by far. The Bavarian chocolate is also super yummy. Worth the line up wait. read more

Amazing donuts. So good that I bought one, ate it, and enjoyed it so much that I waited in line again to buy another for myself and a few for my family so they could try how good they were. I only got the jelly filled varieties which had the best dough in the world and great, perfectly balanced filling. No frills, classic donut flavors that easily beat the overly complicated donut places. read more

This place is a bit pricey for what you get. The donuts are pretty mediocre. You can spend half the money at Tim Hortons for the same amount of enjoyment. read more

Wasn't hungry when we got here since we had just eaten lunch but I was told I had to try it. I bought the honey dip, their signature donut, as well as a chocolate donut hole. Both were delicious and even though I was stuffed, I managed to eat them as I walked through the market. I reasoned that the walking provided enough exercise to warrant this indulgence. One of the best lies I've told myself. read more

GET THE HONEY DIPPED. This doughnut was so light and fluffy I felt like I was about to crush it with my hand. Perfect stop in Granville Public Market!!! read more

I moved to Vancouver a few months ago and was told by friends, that have lived here for years, I had to visit Lee's donuts on Granville Island since I was only a 10 min walk away. After my first bite of the donut, I can see exactly why they told me I had to go. Compared to a popular Canadian chain donut shop, who am I kidding...compared to Tim Horton's, the donuts are superior in every characteristic. They have more flavor (but aren't necessarily sweeter, which is a good thing), larger and depending on the type of donut, are either more cake-like or airy. You can tell they're made fresh, in-house and not frozen. They are more expensive than Tim Horton's at $2+ a donut. I've tried their Honey Dew, Chocolate and Apple fritters at separate times and have enjoyed all of them. Others on Yelp have complained that the consistency of the quality or the quality itself is an issue. To be honest, I have no idea where these allegations are coming from. I don't expect to achieve nirvana from a donut. I really hope enjoy the treat and that's exactly what Lee's delivers. Compared to others: it's fresher and tastier than Timmy's or Dunkin' Donuts and less artificial tasting and nauseatingly sweet than Krispy Kreme. I must agree though that the staff is what prevents me from giving Lee's a 5 star rating. Every time I've gone, the staff have been short with their words and they don't reflect that they are happy for the business you bring. Now, it is just a donut shop in a very busy Granville Island Market setting, but I know for myself, I am extremely more likely to frequent a place that gives a good product and make me feel "welcome" for lack of a better term. Perhaps, this compounded with the little bit higher price leaves a negative overall impression to some people and their resulting review. For myself, I choose to focus primarily on the donuts in this review, since when a product is good, I'm willing to put up with a little lack in customer service touches since I'm only interacting with the people for a minute at most. All in all, these are the best donuts I've had in a while and stand well above in taste and texture compared to other chain store donuts. Lee's Donuts is a shop I recommend you check out to get your donut fix in Vancouver. read more

This is a place to get a FRESH donut! :) I always get their mini-donuts and it never disappointed me! They also sell their day old donuts which still taste good. You can get a tons of donuts with a very reasonable price! I shared the donuts with my roommates, and they all loved it! read more

We tried their mini donut holes-pumpkin and glazed and left impressed! We'll be back to try their famous honey glazed donut next time

Get their signature honey dip donut, do not be disappointed and sad in life.

Classic, authentic and simply delicious donuts! Lee's is one of the most under-hyped donut shops in the city, but in my humble opinion, the best. Their donuts are lovely, nostalgic, soft on the inside, crispy on the outside, melt in your mouth wonders. They're not high end local/organic $3 a pop hipster donuts - but they are the real deal, hand-made, fresh, classic, yummy. After tasting one of Lee's donuts it's hard to go back to chain store donuts. There's a good reason why Lee's has been cranking out donuts for 30 years on Granville Island. read more

Not just the best doughnuts in Canada, some of the best doughnuts I have ever had out of the 4 continents I've travelled through. Incredibly delicious and cheap! You can't go back to Timbits after you've had their doughnut-holes! read more

This is our go-to place for donuts. They make the best yeast donuts - tender and delicious! I don't know why it's taken me so long to post this review as I've been here half a dozen times already. Today, like all the previous times we've been here, we picked up a dozen donuts and it came to $14. More expensive then Timmy Ho's but worth every penny. I always ask for which donuts have just been made and pick up half a dozen of those. Even though it is always the same donut (glazed donut) it is still delicious - warm, fresh from the fryer - yum! Makes my mouth water just thinking about them. Tip: get there by 11am and order their fritters ($5). These are giant donuts about 8 inches in diameter and are filled with fruit. They only make a few per day based on how much dough they have left over from making the regular sized donuts. read more
