When…read moreI began acupuncture in October 2024, my high blood pressure was 192/97 and I was dealing with low range of motion and pain in my right shoulder due to pulled/strained muscles. I had recently weaned myself off high blood pressure medication because of non-stop persistent coughing, and I was really scared. Dr. Shawne and her staff was very compassionate and listened to my concerns. Dr. Shawne assured me that with acupuncture, excercise, meditation, tai chi, and diet, my situation would improve. She also ordered a vitamin routine for me, which I began immediately. I continued with my acupunture treatments until the end of January 2025, when my high blood pressure reached l35/64, and my range of motion became normal. I was not comfortable and I asked how long I would be in treatment. She said 25 minutes - so i just went with it. She left me a button to push if I needed help. I did not have my watch on but i was feeling numb in my feet and legs and thought it had been at least 25 minutes. She never checked in during the treatment and when I looked at my watch - it had been 35 minutes. I had a hard time getting up and stablezing. I asked her why I was in so long and she said she had a couple of phone calls. This morning my bad spots were no better so I decided to write my concerns. She asks you a series of questions and checks your pulse and tongue, a traditional chinese technique. She answered all of my questions and put me at ease and has educated me on acupuncture. After my first visit I actually felt better. I have been 3 times and I already have seen a great improvement in my condition. We walked in and Dr. Lee immediately ushered us into a room for acupuncture without saying a word or asking any questions. Dr. made no attempts to find out about her issues. In previous visits to acupuncturists they asked us many questions, specifically about her stroke, and where she was feeling discomfort or pain. Mr. Lee did not ask one question, even about where her pain was. He proceeded to put in some needles at various places and left the room, and said he would be back in a half hour. When he returned, he took the needles out without asking any questions about how she felt and we left. Obviously, we would never go back to his office.

It's in a run-down building that doesn't look like much from the outside. But his treatment rooms are clean and comfortable. And his manner is amazing. He speaks in a very comforting voice and explains every thing he is doing. Parking is easy, but you do have to climb stairs (no elevator). He accepts insurance and you can schedule online. All very convenient. My only complaint is that his appointments fill up quickly - a testament to his popularity. You'll have to book several weeks in advance. I'm very grateful to Dr. Lee.
