Lee's Candies is a Boise family-owned and operated candy business that was founded by Lee Nokleby in 1947, using recipes his father developed. Originally located on Jefferson Street, in 1972, Lee's Candies moved to the brand new Vista Village Shopping Center. In July 2024, they opened their second location in downtown Boise, right next door to another great business, City Peanut Shop. In 1983, Lee retired and passed the business onto his son Curtis, who continue to honor the family motto, "Never Change Your Quality." In 2020, Curtis retired and passed the business on to a new family, father and daughter Ken and Katie Fernandez. I have been visiting Lee's Candies since my parents first took me there as a young child. The house made chocolates I buy today taste exactly the way they did decades ago. There are very few businesses that have been around for 77 years that have maintained the same level of quality they had when they first started. This is one of them. Today, I was helped by a wonderful employee named Riley. He has worked there about three years. He was extremely knowledgeable about all the products and was incredibly helpful and answering all my questions. He did a great job of carefully packaging, my small assortment of chocolates and other items. The customer service was outstanding! *Approximately 90% of the house made chocolates are gluten-free. Highly Recommended!!!

A friend of mine sent me a box of chocolates from Lee's. I used to live in Boise and when I read the box's informational insert, I thought, "Why haven't I heard of Lee's before?" Then I took a bite and lamented that I don't live in Boise anymore. Fast forward a few minutes and a Google search later, and I realized that I DO know Lee's! BSU is right down the hill. My old office is right around the corner. I used to stop by allll the time for a post-lunch treat or a TGIF celebratory chocolate. How could I forget?! The people in this shop were always nice. Sometimes you got a little sample. For a period of time I was addicted to their sour cherry balls. They also have a great collection of gifts. Parking is easy and when I lived in Boise (5 years ago) always plentiful. I'm so thankful for the gift my friend sent me. It helped me remember this shop, the friendly people there, and all the wonderful sweets and gifts they sell. If you have a sweet tooth, this is a must-visit!

I have been to a lot of candy stores in our valley but just a shop that focuses on chocolate, a total different vibe! I made my way to the Chocolat Bar today. The perfect shop to help with my sweet tooth. I remember getting some chocolates as a gift but it was nice to be able to make my way into the store. The venue is so stunning. Beautiful displays of hot cocoa containers, chocolate bars and gift boxes of chocolates. Bright display cases of beautifully made chocolates and truffles. Everything looked divine! As much as I wanted to buy a whole pound of chocolates, I knew I couldn't polish off a whole pound by myself. My husband loves chocolate but isn't into anything fancy. I know he wasn't going to help me with a the chocolates I would have picked out. So, I opted to grab a small box of assorted chocolates. The little box I grabbed was simple and delicate. I love the little blue bow on the box. It was just the right amount of goodies for me. And since it's a variety, I get to try a little of everything. I appreciate that they have a list of what was going to be in the box. You get a nice mix of dark and milk chocolate. I'm not going to lie, I opened up that box and had 2 pieces of the dark chocolates drops. No guilt polishing off 2 pieces of chocolate right away. Later I had a milk chocolate drop with cashews I believe and I'm in love. I recall the chocolates I had in the past were fabulous but the chocolates I got today were delicious! And I plan on not sharing the rest of the box with anyone in my house. I was hesitant at the store purchasing a whole pound of chocolate but after eating 3 pieces of it today, I think I'm going to have to grab a pound the next time I come in. I know I'll have to pace myself with that many sweets but it'll be so worth every penny! Happy I stopped in for a treat today. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I got to support a local business. After reading a couple reviews, the coffee and Gelato are a must here too, a must have on my next visit. The store is so pretty and bright. The chocolates here are fantastic. I can't wait to come back soon for some Valentines day treats.

Do not skip the coffee because they do it right, and it pairs perfectly with whatever sweets you pick. Service is always friendly and personal, which adds to the charm. Whether you love milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or truffles, the selection is deep and everything is top quality. My personal favorites are the barks, especially the mixed nut, cocoa, and cherry. I have yet to find a bad one. The best way to enjoy it is to grab a selection, order a coffee, and sink into one of their comfortable chairs for a little break. Just be warned, you will walk out with a bag of chocolate that somehow ends up around forty dollars. Worth every penny.

The bakery itself is small, but the display case is anything but. It's packed with beautifully crafted pastries, each one more tempting than the last. Honestly, everything looked worth trying. We settled on the Rose Croissant and the Lox Croissant Sandwich, and both were excellent. The rose croissant was a standout with the rose flavor delicate yet present in every bite, which is rare for floral pastries. It never became overpowering or faded into the background or tasted artificial. The true star of the meal, however, was the lox croissant sandwich. It was absolutely stellar and one of the best savory pastries we've had in a long time. The coffee was just okay, but that was fine because the pastries completely stole the show. The staff worked quickly despite the steady stream of customers. There is a bit of seating both indoors and outdoors, although most people seemed to be taking their orders to go ,perhaps because of the weather. If you're visiting, come for the pastries. They're absolutely worth the wait.

I used to go to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory when it was out at the outlet mall. Now there's a new owner and new store front in Meridian which is so much closer to me. My friend swears by their Dubai chocolate bars here. I finally got to try out the Dubai chocolate and I see the hype in them, they are so good! I made my way in to see what kind of goodies they had. I like that you're not committed to a pound here so I'll be able to get a variety of treats. Walking in, you are smacked in the face with this amazing smell from the caramel they were using to dip the apples in. You are visually sent into overdrive with all the chocolates, Valentines decor and dipped apples perfectly displayed all over. I didn't even know where to begin! I wanted to look at everything, God forbid I miss out on something good. I would literally get one of everything if I could. The truffles, fudge, dipped twinkies, apples covered in caramel and chocolate, smores, it was all calling my name. Trying to narrow my selection down was going to be a difficult decision. But I ended up going with a milk chocolate sea salt caramel, a milk chocolate caramel, a milk chocolate truffle and one more piece that I can't remember. I also snagged a little bag of peanut butter melts for my husband. The gal that helped me out today was kind and patient with me. I was looking over the display case and wanted to make sure that I got anything that called out to me. It was neat seeing the dipping of the apples, it's an art for sure. The store is very cute, perfectly laid out and welcoming. I'm looking forward to eating my goodies later. I will have to make my way back soon. There's more treats that need to be tried out.

They always have such a big variety of goodies. Walking in, it's hard not to get overwhelmed by all the goodies, colors and displays. We went straight to the display counter to look at the truffles and to see if they had the Dubai bar. We were the only ones in the store. It was quite weird not to see a sales associate for a good amount of time. We located the bar, she decided against the bar since she can get one local for the same price and almost double in size. We walked around the store and looked at all the fun stuff. I love how everything is so organized and clean. When you have multiple customers through out the day going in and out of a bin, it's nice to see that it's clean. I personally don't like candy in bulk cause of potential germ contamination. But honestly, I have boughten candy from this joint and I have never had any issues since they keep it so clean. If your looking for a small sweet treat, Lolli and Pops would be a great store to grab your goodies at. Our even a fun gift for someone that likes sweets.
