However, she was a student doing her practicum hours, and I think it's very unusual for Silver Springs Massage to not inform me as a client that I was being treated by a student, and worse, they charged full price for the 90 minutes ($140+). So that's why I'm giving them a 3 out of 5 star review. I've been a part of student clinics at other massage therapy businesses, and it's always explained up front (in fact there's paperwork to sign indicating you acknowledge that this is a student treating you), along with the service being at a steep discount (50%+ or more). After all, you are being treated by someone who isn't yet a professional - they are learning by practicing on you. You are helping them by being practice, and you are getting the benefit of a less expensive massage in exchange - except Silver Springs Massage isn't doing that, which I object to. Sarah was clearly a student - she forgot her massage gel, forgot to charge her phone so we didn't have music playing during the massage, and had pretty rough transitions and technique in some ways - but she shows a lot of promise and did some stretches and techniques I'd never experienced before. Given more experience and time, I'm certain she will become a superb massage therapist.

The staff size has also been reduced so there is way less availability during the day. The massage therapist I've been seeing is good, but overall I feel the facility is losing ground. The place used to be immaculate and really felt like a spa like experience. I was in there last week, and spa shoes were dirty (they aren't cleaning them between clients - something I've noticed during previous visits), the floor has traces of salt and snow on it whereas it used to always be pristine, the decor is not as sleek as before -- there's a white leather couch that looks kind of tacky and holiday decorations that look the same. I always loved that they sent you away with a cup of hot tea. The tea is still there. I wasn't offered one during my last visit, but the time before was offered one -- so overall it's an inconsistent practice and I feel too silly to ask when not offered. I probably won't be returning once I use up my massage series, unless these new folks up their game soon.

I would highly recommend this spa and Nataliya to all of my friends, co-workers and family as I think everyone should have an amazing experience as I did. However, on the morning of her first scheduled day, she received a cold message saying: "Sorry, we don't have any clients right now. We don't need you." No prior warning. No explanation. No apology. To be treated so carelessly and disrespectfully, especially after two weeks of waiting in good faith, was extremely disheartening.
