I went to see Dr. Ross today for an ingrown toenail. It had bothered me for 8 weeks, but was…read morebearable. I thought I was doing what needed to be done at home; however, after a strenuous day of work on my feet - it became unbearably painful. I looked for a podiatrist- reluctantly - and found Dr. Ross. I easily made an appointment for the SAME DAY - as I told them I was in pain - so they squeezed me into their busy schedule. The office is in Bethesda with a parking lot behind the building. I drove over -- but was 20 minutes late due to traffic. After calling them to let them know I would be late, they said to come in anyway. So - I did. My wait-time was a bit longer, but that was my fault, not theirs. I was pleased that they were still perfectly happy to see me. After about 20 minutes or so, I saw Dr. Ross. My reaction was: WHAT A LOVELY MAN! He was kind, smart, efficient and pleasant. He clearly explained my options and recommended I go for the more conservative and less painful approach as it was my first ingrown toenail. He also said that a toenail will react that way in response to trauma. I had gotten a rather thorough pedicure the day before the pain started and he said that was what caused it. After the procedure - which wasn't too bad as he completely numbed my toe in a gentle and careful way - I was done. It only took about 15 minutes for the whole appointment. I was extremely pleased with his directions, explanations and expertise. Finding him was a lifesaver as an ingrown toenail can impede everything from walking to sleeping.
