Lee and Son's are busy, which is typical of establishments that provide excellent work and services. After purchasing new tires, that included balancing from Costco, Jeff performed a check on my front end alignment. Struts, ball joints, and bushings were worn and replacement should occur prior to alignment. Unfortunately they also informed me that the tires needed to be rebalanced. Not something you would expect from Costco. After rebalancing I took my truck back to Lee, who ordered quality parts, but just the parts required. I elected to replace both struts and Lee got a deal on new coils too! Bottom line is my truck rides like new, and I know I received quality service. Jeff did a fantastic job. I know my way around a garage, spent many years working and building engines for fun, and know that Lee's 40 plus years of experience pays dividends. Would highly recommend Lee and Son. read more

Ya know, when you go to most places for a wheel alignment you get a guy who has a huge computerized machine, but no actual knowledge of his own about the dynamics involved in wheel alignment. Judging by all the trouble I have had in the past with wheel alignment it's not easy at all. The tires affect it, everything does. The "mechanic" is dependent on that computer machine to do his work. He has been trained, but he only knows what the machine says. And I don't think the machine knows it all. Not at Lee & Son. Here, you get a guy who actually knows how the car works. Who knows how the different adjustments affect the handling. It's really night and day. I got a wheel alignment at another place, and when I drove out of there the car was pulling to the left. It would make left turns by itself. Geez. So I finally took it to Lee and Son and they worked on it. When I drove out of there the car goes straight down the road. No pulling. It's perfect. I had to come to the conclusion that the important part of all this is not the machine, it's *experience*. At this place, you get that experience. I think it's just a waste of time going anywhere else. I can't recommend this place too highly. They just know what they're doing. That's the most important thing if you ask me. read more

My car fell into a giant pothole in LA where it felt like I flew off a curb. My car started bouncing excessively over little tiny bumps in the road and made noises like an old mattress. This shop explained to me clearly what needed to be repaired and why after their inspection. They really care about +1/-1 issues with alignment (if you care about your tires, you will too). Plus, they recommended I get a certain part replaced, but they didn't upsell me and suggested I take it to my own general mechanic during my next regular service. I'm usually really skeptical of repair shops, but Lee was very straightforward and honest. They're also really close to the metrolink station, so I was able to walk to my train after dropping off my car. I will definitely take my car here for alignment services. Best of all, my car doesn't make that old mattress noise anymore, and rides beautifully! read more

I went there and Lee said that my major problem was a minor (but getting worse) tire tread separation on the left front tire. He showed it to me, and I got a set of 4. I took my '95 BMW 3 series here years ago for an alignment, I was recommended by Ronin Autoworks. It was pulling to the right and getting really annoying. I came back a few hours later and right when I stepped through the door I felt a bad vibe. The guys told me there was what looked like accident damage to the suspension and that they couldn't fix it. But it was the way they told me that was really unprofessional, they treated me like some young punk who was trying to pull a fast one on them, which really caught me off guard. I bough the car used and it has never been in an accident since I've owned it, which I told them, but they acted like I was BSing them. It left me with a bad taste in my mouth since I was being upfront with them, but I could tell they had their minds made up and that wasn't changing. Maybe if I was about 20 years older they would have shown me some more respect? read more

I can't recommend this shop high enough. After the dealer ("stealer") wanted to charge $800.00 for brakes on my daughters car I decided to try these guys. Turns out the car didn't even need brakes, the automatic emergency brake adjuster was malfunctioning causing the pedal to travel too far. The honest guys @ Lee's were able to fix the part, advised NOT to replace any of the factory parts and sent her on her way for $40.00. In this day & age of "Parts replacing" shops, the old school "fix it right" mentality of Lee & Sons is a breath of fresh air. 10 STARS. read more

This place was recommended to me by various hot rodders from different cruise night events. So the day finally came when I needed to do a front and rear wheel alignment so I headed on over to see Lee. I have a 1934 Chevy Vicky Sedan with a Heidt's super ride front end and a 1980 corvette independent rear end. Obviously this isn't your local alignment Midas or gas station job. After discussing my issues with the car on how it rides I gave Lee the keys and let him have at it. Now first off, they were already busy but were very accommodating to my work schedule and let me leave it there for a few days to do the alignment. So the time comes to get cracking and I get the dreaded call.... "You got issues" so we discuss my underlying problems, come to find out the front A-arms were too long (notorious for Heidt's) and I had a bent pass anger rear trailing arm. I gotta say I'm pretty darn impressed with the amount of knowledge Lee possesses, he just a guy who's been doing this for eons and really know his stuff and pays real close attention to detail. So I give the approval to hack down the front A-arms and bang out my trailing arms. All said and done this car drives straight as an arrow!!!! Couldn't even tell he took 1/4" off the front arms. The rear arms are dead center in the front pocket. Now they even took the extra time to use the proper washer shims for the trailing arms rather than the split and slip in shims that magically fell out from the previous owner!!!! If you got a classic car or want a very trustworthy and honest alignment shop in your pocket then Lee and Sons is what you need. In the end for all the work and time spent I felt as if he undercharged me for the repairs... I even kicked him a few extra bones for good measure as an extension of my gratitude. read more

I recommend this place to my friends all the time, and the ones who take my advice become customers of Lee and Sons forever. The ones who don't waste a bunch of money going to a shop where the mechanic has no idea what he's doing, then go to Lee after the fact so his guys can fix what the last guy did. Lee and Sons is the only shop that touches my C6 ZO6 corvette. If they weren't around I don't know what I would do. I have a lifted Chevy Silverado pick-up with oversized tires that other shops prior to Lee and Son could not get aligned properly to save their lives. Lee and Son dialed it in perfectly in under two hours for an extremely fair price and I was on my way. WOW! this place is great! Took my F330 4x4 CC dually here for a loose steering box, and alignment based on research, and reviews here on yelp. Lot of places can't do the longer wheelbased trucks...Lee can! Stopped in about a month ago to check out shop and talk with Lee about my issues, options/prices. Lee was straight forward, and honest. I kinda had an idea what needed to be done, but of course don't have the specialized tools and skills for that type of work, and he's the expert!! Made an appointment for today, just got home, truck drives straight as an arrow, and no more loose steering. Very impressed!! One of Lee's sons did the work. Explained what needed to be done, needed one sleeve to correct alignment. On rack, put part in and he test drove, still not right he said. Three times on rack, making small adjustments, and making test drives till he got it right. I was so appreciative of his time and skill spent on my truck getting it right. Steering is perfect now!! Also discussed with Lee possibility of rebuilding front end, balls joints etc at a later date. Both Lee and his son stated front end is fine, don't mess with it, all looked OK at this point in time.
