Fairly priced, for Edmonton this place definitely has the best quality/price ratio I've seen.

Everyone I interacted with was an aggressive prick, in person, over the phone and by email. I hate toxic masculinity. They get an extra star because they did try to right their wrong by offering a $50 credit, doing the existing tattoo at no additional cost and hooking me up with a new artist. I said no, mostly because I want a nice association with the tattoo, and not a constant reminder of this poorly managed tattoo shop. I also wasn't convinced that they could book appointments properly. Be warned, other reviews indicate that management and appointment bookings are weak areas for this shop. I'm not the first person to have an issue with the booking, and I probably won't be the last either...

Both artists had loads of tats - personally, if I was going to go for a tattoo, I would want an artist with lots of body art. The main area is filled with different skateboards, accessories, and clothing. This is a place for hardcore boarders who like to build their own set of wheels. I enjoyed seeing all the artistic and colourful boards and was inspired once again to think about taking up the sport myself.

I was there once before with a friend who wanted to get his eyebrow pierced and they took really good care of him. I decided to get a couple of body piercings and it was pretty close to closing but they were nice enough to take me in. I got two piercings, since it was get one and get the second one half off. The guy did a great job making me feel relaxed and not scared about getting poked. He placed some markers and if I didn't like the position of where the piercing would go he remarked me. The whole process wasn't too long and while I was getting pocked he kept asking me if I was doing okay. He kept reassuring me I was going really well for never getting a part of my body pierced, except my ears. I felt super strong and brave! The guy was pretty nice and very friendly. That was the reason why I decided to go to The Eye of the Lotus in the first place. When my friend got his eyebrow done the guy who was doing his piercings was just so nice and funny; he totally took my friend's mind off of what was going on. They informed my friend and me (when I got my piercings done) how to clean our piercings. Like I said the joint was really clean and the staff was really nice and very professional. They made sure they did things the right way and they way you wanted.

It's a very busy shop so I'd recommend planning well in advance and booking an appointment. I particularly like that there aren't tattoo pictures hanging all over the wall. They encourage custom tattoos. Mine was taken from a photo that I took while on vacation. The artist drew it on while looking at the picture. I went back for touch-ups and asked him to fix up one of the stones which was no problem. Actually my tattoo got infected and I was concerned about it so I went back to the shop and the owner at the time, Anastasia, assessed it and offered helpful advice. It's a very professional shop, super clean and the staff are really educated and informative. They offer a lot of interesting jewelery for the piercings they offer.

It's so great to have an artist that's creative, professional, and been in the industry for a decade as an owner and is still relevant! Also- even though we both chose a tender spot to have work done on- we were able to sit for the duration needed to complete the tattoo ( which is a sign of someone who knows what he's doing with a tattoo gun!) Don't let his cartoon-like portfolio fool u either- he has a huge creative range on what he can make happen !

They made sure I was super comfy in the chair and they had books to look at and when I needed a break it was no problem. I can honestly say I have never had a better experience even since then. Now it is the only place I want to go to get my work done and I feel that i have made new friends at the same time.

I sent him a few photos of what I had in mind and it's like he crawled into my brain! I could not be happier! While it took longer than anticipated, it was well worth the wait! What I love most about Urge 2 is how it's like a big, loving, dysfunctional family! Just like my own! Every single artist here is different in their style, and they are not afraid to send you to a different artist if what you're looking for is not their style and more someone else's! They also offer tattoo removal if you're looking to have that old one zapped away to make room for something new and fabulous! I've heard it's quite painful! Now, this isn't your back alley shop, so know what you want and have the appropriate budget in mind! Tattoos are expensive and really a piece of art displayed on your body! I recommend any of Urges artists!
