I came to Urge 2 when they were having a fundraiser. My husband had come here a few years ago, and had his first tattoo done here as well. I always knew I wanted tattoos but just have not gotten the courage to get one. Well, they held a fundraiser for the Edmonton Crisis Support Shelter, using the semi colon as their campaign tattoo. I had wanted the semi colon for a while, as what it stands for holds very true for me. When I was waiting I was nervous as could be, sweating bullets one might say. They called my number and I met Jen Danger, she was so sweet! Very nice to me, over the top to be honest. She made me feel like I was special for it being my first tattoo. I know, I know, I am not, many others got their first that day too. But I loved how she made it about me and not about what everyone else was doing as well. She made sure I felt like I was supporting something good, even mentioned a different fundraiser they are doing in the fall. I thought that was great! That they give back like they do. This woman, to me, was an amazing person on many levels. After I finally had my tattoo, I handed her a tip, she then let me know all her tips were going to the cause that day too. I thought that was good of her! She really likes to give back :) That my friend is a good person! I will definitely go back there again, and would ask for Jen to do my next one, she was just awesome! Urge 2 is a true world class tattoo shop. Clean, trendy, professional and they do fantastic work. Johnny Faulds is a true artist who takes pride in his shop and his work. I went in to see him on a recommendation. After checking out his work and having at least a one hour consult I threw many ideas at him of what I was looking for. He took the ideas, gave me great feedback on what he thought would work and not work, and came up with the exact piece I was looking for. I spent 7 hours in the shop getting my tattoo done on my lower arm and Johnny worked straight through with minimal breaks. When it came to price, Johnny was more than fair and even threw in a great t-shirt for the road. The other artists and Ben (who does tattoo removal from the shop) kept the the atmosphere light hearted and comforting. I spent 2 years searching out the right artist and Johnny and the Urge 2 Crew nailed it. The fact that I was able to have a consult with an artist and get their professional opinion was awesome. I had attempted to get work done at previous shops with artists who didn't care to take the time to sit down and listen to what I was actually looking for, and then when I went in to see the artwork they had done up, it was nowhere near what I was looking for. A true artist will take the time to hear what you want as a piece and put in the time to help you come up with piece of "art" that you'll be proud to wear the rest of your life. Thank you Johnny. I've been to several shops in and around town and for the sake of this review I've also attended several tattoo conventions, I have learnt a thing or two about tattoos. Not a tattoo artist but I am an artist (drawing and music). I've seen a lot of talent but Urge seems to cover it all, all styles of tattooing with many talented artists and being open 7 days a week it's not hard to book an apt. The artists have portfolio's to view on their website, however, each artist has a hard copy portfolio in shop to browse from (in my opinion had better pics than online to choose from). This is a custom shop so they can do anything you want (within reason, I've seen some other clients be so un-realistic Haha.) Compared to other shops I found this one more clean, infact I was there once while health inspector was there and he was thrilled as usual according to him, which makes me feel safer!!! $150/hr plus tax which seems fair since a few other shops have been raising their prices. And finally they also have a laser removal in the back called 'Second Skin laser removal". read more

I had a few small tattoos done in the past at other shops and was looking for a new artist. A friend of mine highly recommended Urge as the place to go. I called to book a consultation with Jen after looking at her portfolio and she returned my call right away. As soon as I walked in the door she made me feel extremely comfortable. She was friendly, professional and understood everything I wanted. I ended up getting a 3/4 sleeve done by Jen that turned out more beautiful than I could have imagined. I have since had my upper arm and thigh done by her. Love, love everything she has done for me and her custom work is amazing. Going back to see her again in a few months and I can't wait :). It is filled with some of the most talented artists this city has to offer, and I am proud to have several prices from Jen Danger and Jillian Thomas. I receive nothing but compliments on my work, and am proud to tell people about the shop and the artists. This is a true custom shop, and the work that comes out of the shop is second to none, and reflects the pride each artist has in their work and their profession. I have been getting tattoed By Rich Harding foe quite some time now. He is doing a killer sleeve for me. I will say that the shop is immaculately clean, the staff are awesome, and the tattoos they produce are awesome. My Wife has several tattoos that were done by Jen Danger and they are amazing! Anyone here that writes a bad review of this shop is obviously an angry individual. And not the brightest bulb in the pack, considering they are getting punctuation (semi-colon) tattoos. I suggest you come to the shop for 5 minutes and judge for yourself the awesomeness of the people, cleanliness, and killer art work. In a nut shell Urge 2 rocks! read more

I've been getting tattooed for years, found urge and settled down lol. Had a few pieces done here now And by far some of the best work I've had or even seen. I get compliments at work or on holidays all the time. I've had work done by a few different artists there but they all seem pretty good based off their portfolios and art work on the wall... Not to mention my friends that have been tattooed there. I first went there on a recommendation and I would also recommend urge 2 to anyone looking to get a rad tattoo. Rates are standard with that of any good quality shop. And it was very clean and they always seem to have rad music playing. read more

The artists are awesome and they work with you to design the perfect tattoo for what you want. I have a health condition involving my heart and lungs so being clean, sanitized and sterile is a very BIG MUST in my books and Urge 2 doesn't disappoint in this area ! I have to say that this is the best shop in town. If you want to go to a place with a great vibe, lighthearted atmosphere and some SERIOUSLY skilled artists this is the place to be. Urge 2 is really a fantastic business. Very clean, well organized, and welcoming. I started off at Urge getting a couple little tattoos covered up by the amazing Jen Danger. 4 tattoos later and I'm heading back for a 5th.
