They answered any and all questions I had and wanted to make sure that the idea I had for a tattoo was what I wanted to stick with for sure. They drew me a picture and sent me home to make sure that's what I wanted exactly and they saved me a spot in their books. I came back the next week and again they were very welcoming. They made sure I was super comfy in the chair and they had books to look at and when I needed a break it was no problem. I can honestly say I have never had a better experience even since then. Now it is the only place I want to go to get my work done and I feel that i have made new friends at the same time.

Tony sketches your tattoo right in front of you allowing for adjustments and input while he is drawing. I have dreamed of getting an elephant tattoo for so many years and I am so thankful I found such a talented and kind artist to make this dream a reality. I was also very pleased that Tony was able to complete my tattoo, which takes up a good portion of my thigh, in a one 6 hour sitting. I sent him a few photos of what I had in mind and it's like he crawled into my brain! I could not be happier! While it took longer than anticipated, it was well worth the wait! Every single artist here is different in their style, and they are not afraid to send you to a different artist if what you're looking for is not their style and more someone else's! They also offer tattoo removal if you're looking to have that old one zapped away to make room for something new and fabulous! I've heard it's quite painful! I was there once before with a friend who wanted to get his eyebrow pierced and they took really good care of him. I decided to get a couple of body piercings and it was pretty close to closing but they were nice enough to take me in. I got two piercings, since it was get one and get the second one half off. The guy did a great job making me feel relaxed and not scared about getting poked. He placed some markers and if I didn't like the position of where the piercing would go he remarked me. The whole process wasn't too long and while I was getting pocked he kept asking me if I was doing okay. He kept reassuring me I was going really well for never getting a part of my body pierced, except my ears. I felt super strong and brave! The guy was pretty nice and very friendly. That was the reason why I decided to go to The Eye of the Lotus in the first place. When my friend got his eyebrow done the guy who was doing his piercings was just so nice and funny; he totally took my friend's mind off of what was going on. They informed my friend and me (when I got my piercings done) how to clean our piercings. Like I said the joint was really clean and the staff was really nice and very professional. They made sure they did things the right way and they way you wanted.

It's a very busy shop so I'd recommend planning well in advance and booking an appointment. I particularly like that there aren't tattoo pictures hanging all over the wall. They encourage custom tattoos. Mine was taken from a photo that I took while on vacation. The artist drew it on while looking at the picture. I went back for touch-ups and asked him to fix up one of the stones which was no problem. Actually my tattoo got infected and I was concerned about it so I went back to the shop and the owner at the time, Anastasia, assessed it and offered helpful advice. It's a very professional shop, super clean and the staff are really educated and informative. They offer a lot of interesting jewelery for the piercings they offer.

Stacy is my regular artist and he has basically covered my back and stomach. I've sent a few friends/family to him as well and they've always said he is professional, fair and talented. I love my tattoos and can't wait to keep covering my body! I have an absolutely bomb back-piece and stomach tattoo from Stacy - he does good work. I've also gone to Adam for some small tattoos and touch ups all around. I'm happy with those tattoos as well. Have yet to go to Kat, but I enjoy chatting with her about my tattoos, and we are planning on doing a pet piece soon. She loves Sphynx cats and I have an adorable Sphynx who I want to commemorate in as a tattoo - and my other pets too. Her style is very new traditional and is right up my alley so I can't wait to get started. I have no doubt in my mind that I'll be here getting tattoo'd. He was friendly and explained all I needed to know about getting a tattoo and the aftercare. He was also fast. I was in and out within the hour, it was a quick tattoo. The other staff there are friendly as well. Prices were reasonable for the tattoo I got - script on my upper arm. I wasn't sure what to expect for the price, but no issues there at all. I'm happy to pay the price for a good tattoo. Overall, it was a quick and efficient experience. I am very happy with my new tattoo. My only qualm is that there is barely any parking because the parking lot is very busy.

So I was very unhappy to show up early for my appointment and wait and an hour after my appointment time I was still waiting. I ended up having to leave. The reception girl was lovely and rebooked me for the next day. They booked me with the same artist and I got the rate I would have gotten the day before. Unfortunately the artist was awful. She was conceited and had no manners. She complained about not being able to use the computer and about the design. She complained about the "thin lines" despite there being no demand for thin lines. She ignored my requests. And she chose the font and then proceeded to complain the entire time about it. I got three small tattoos and each one has a problem. One on my wrist has two lines coming off of it instead of one where she had tried to go back over it and messed up. My forearm spacing is messed up (my fault for not bailing and getting it anyways) but she did messed up part of it so the lines aren't clean. When I suggested an edit she told me she didn't like it and wouldn't even humor it. I had to use the pen and draw what I meant. An "&" shouldn't be too complex of an idea. And the biggest problem I have is a colored one on my leg. I asked for it to be shaded and instead it is flat color. It was supposed to have a certain number of lines through it and she messed up and said "oh well". She was very heavy handed and did not hide that she was irritated with me. It is healing horribly. I'm not sure if I had a bad reaction to the colors or what. It bubbled up and when some of it finally flaked off what is left looks terrible. It will definitely need touching up. But there is no way I would consider letting the artist near me again. Can provide pictures of this horror show if needed. She also did not go through any care instructions with me. I had, luckily, been with friends the day before and heard theirs, as well as having had one before. But it seems like something the artist should go through every time. She was whiny and had a bad attitude. I suspect she was mad about having to give me the Wednesday rate (I was fine paying regular rate - I just wanted a quality artist) and her work certainly showed it. The studio itself was great. The other artists I talked to also were. The reception was great. Just the artist was awful. Absolutely awful.
