Candice was super patient with my daughter and explained all the steps to ease her tension. The piercing was pretty quick and done in a very clean and sterile room. I would definitely bring my younger daughter back here to get her ears pierced when she is ready. The cost was about $140 including the jewellery. I found it a little pricey but I'm sure it will be worth it in the end since $100 of it went towards the high quality nickel free body grade jewellery.

I decided to get a couple of body piercings and it was pretty close to closing but they were nice enough to take me in. I got two piercings, since it was get one and get the second one half off. The guy did a great job making me feel relaxed and not scared about getting poked. He placed some markers and if I didn't like the position of where the piercing would go he remarked me. The whole process wasn't too long and while I was getting pocked he kept asking me if I was doing okay. He kept reassuring me I was going really well for never getting a part of my body pierced, except my ears. I felt super strong and brave! The guy was pretty nice and very friendly. That was the reason why I decided to go to The Eye of the Lotus in the first place. When my friend got his eyebrow done the guy who was doing his piercings was just so nice and funny; he totally took my friend's mind off of what was going on. I went back for touch-ups and asked him to fix up one of the stones which was no problem. When I tried to clarify the discrepancy between what I was told on the phone, what is written on the website, and what was happening in practice, the owner responded by raising his voice, calling me names, and repeatedly telling me to leave in front of staff and other clients. The interaction felt extremely disrespectful and unexpected from a business owner. My intention in sharing this is to describe my personal experience so others--especially those looking for a safe, respectful environment--are aware. The owner, Noni, has owned the business for over 25 years (yay for stability) and works at the shoppe daily. She is THE best person to see if you have *any* piercing needs. She will give you sound guidance to look after piercing-related issues and inform you of how to properly care for your piercing(s) holistically. There is a great selection of jewellery readily available and the prices are very reasonable. If you're looking for something they do not have, or want a custom piece, Noni has long-established relationships with many vendors and custom order pieces. The shoppe has been impeccably clean every time I've been there (and I have just dropped in a couple times). Proper sanitisation was maintained every visit as well. I suggest making an appointment in advance as people are seen by appointment due to high demand. I had an urgent issue with some fairly bad swelling (due to my compromised immune system and having multiple inflammatory conditions) and she was kind enough to squeeze me in to get longer posts in place. Noni is definitely NOT someone who is money hungry; rather, she cares about people genuinely! She is down to earth, honest, and direct. If you are a sensitive person, please don't allow yourself to be offended as these are good and rare qualities that can sometimes come across as gruffness. Please hear her out and know what she says comes from a place of wisdom and experience. She also gives good hugs (I asked first and she was warm and welcoming)!
