This place deserves all the positive praise it gets. After a particularly awful attempt at an experience around the corner at Orchid. We decided to come here, from the very start, the receptionist was incredibly informative and helpful. She pulled out jewellery trays and broke down pricing and procedure. My partner had a bunch of questions and the receptionist expertly handled them. We were very quickly whisked away into one of the back rooms. and met George, the owner. His room was entirely prepped and stocked and was a consummate professional. After explaining our ordeal at Orchid, George took some time to talk procedure out with us and really relaxed us back into a positive mood for the experience. I went first. He plotted the piercing out, and went to it. Spent two minutes or so giving aftercare tips. And then, he washed his hands. and quickly produced everything he needed to do my partners piercing. there were subtle procedural changes for hers, (the big one being that mine was done while sitting and she was asked to lay down, because it gave him better control of the piercing) and explained himself admirably. He in a way that didn't feel scripted or bored or like he'd been doing this for forever. He's a man very clearly still very enthused and passionate about his career choice. 10/10 for the experience and I'd give bonus points for saving our whole evening. Will definitely be back. read more

I feel like these reviews are lacking certain piercings that I'm sure people are wondering about so here I am to break that trend! I got my VCH and Christina pierced at the same time. The piercer (George) advised against doing both in one sitting but ultimately it's my body and he was comfortable with me insisting upon what I wanted. The process was VERY detailed and I appreciated how well he explained how he pierced and why he used what he did. I was a bit confused at first because from what I researched the Christina is often an L-bar but he was adamant on that a curved bar is better for that area so I trusted his judgement and am glad I did. The pain was intense but very short lived. There were no uncomfortable moments which was especially nice considering the fact that they are genital piercings. Overall I would definitely suggest this place. The price was FAIRLY expensive in my opinion, but I called around the city and it seems like $130 as a base for such piercings is average. Being from Edmonton (now living in Vancouver) I do want to make it said that just because this place is in West Ed Mall it doesn't make it a "filthy" or "Trashy" to get work done. I know that there is a stigma and unpopular opinion of it, but George knows what he is doing and is beyond qualified. Don't let stereotypes drive your decision. -E. read more

Hope this will be helpful to those of you looking to get a piercing done here? Here i was doing some christmas shopping at west ed and walked in to FX by two guys with pipes ,i was a bit hesitant to get anything done since its on impulse anyways i was greeted by the staff i gotta say a little too friendly but they answered all my concerns explained about the different metals they used and they even went as far as showing me what cheap metals VS the stuff they used looked and felt like which i was sold at that time ,so to make a long story short ,,here comes the piercing part walked in the room got my belly prepped marked and was asked to lay down and was told to breath in threw my nose out threw my mouth lol felt as if im getting ready to have a baby lol ,anyways the piercer George got the needles in hes gloved hand and asked me if i was ready ,at that point i was not to be honest and i asked him are you gonna use a clamp to hold my skin ?and he kind of smiled at me and said look im done practising years ago and no clamps used here not for a belly piercing at least ,he went on to assure me its a smooth process and needless to say it was done before i knew it during the process the guy changed hes gloves a million times which made me feel very pleased .LOOKS GREAT thank you george . read more

My friends and I came in this evening, two of us wanting nipple piercings and although it was close to closing they were more than accommodating. The staff was immediately friendly and welcoming, and I felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout my whole appointment. At the front desk we were told all the prices upfront for what we wanted and there was a good variety of titanium jewelry. The room was clean and George, our piercer, was friendly, easygoing, and efficient, making the piercings as painless as possible. He was also very professional and we both felt at ease even though we were topless. Before we left we were given care instructions which George ran through and we were also introduced to the other piercer at the studio because George is going to be away from the shop and wanted to ensure we had a contact at the shop in case we had any questions during the healing process or wanted another piercing done. It was the best piercing experience I've had even though it was probably the most painful! Thanks so much George and everyone at FX! read more

I loved my experience here. I wanted to get my first tattoo done, they were good about making sure it was the size and design that I wanted. I was nervous and while I waited they let me see the artwork he had done prior which was nice, rather than just sitting there thinking. When I went in it was a great experience. The artist was calm with me and allowed me talk with my boyfriend who I had brought along with me, which helped calm me down. He didn't require that I talk with him the whole time which in my eyes was better because it allowed me to focus on other things. He was quick but so good! The lines are amazing and looking at it now I have yet to find one flaw in the work. No issues afterwards and the pricing was really great. Definitely planning my next tattoo and most likely will be done there! read more

This is literally the best piercing studio ever. I have over 20 piercings and been to many places, and came here mostly to fix them from how poorly or wrong the other places have done them. I knew nothing about piercings at first from metal or positioning, so I was clueless but the people here taught me so much! Candace is absolutely wonderful. She's funny, she's talkative, and calms you down if you're nervous to get a piercing. She's super gentle and very informative, she's amazing! I've gone here to replace my tragus jewelry for a nice opal, my nose stud, and George pierced my navel here with a stunning opal. Very sanitary and lovely place with the best jewelry ever. I never have had any complaints! I would recommend this as the best place ever. read more

Absolutely amazing experience! Caleigh pierced my nipples for me, and she was professional, reassuring, knowledgable, and above and beyond accommodating! I was turned away by the Kingsway Mall location at 8:10 because the piercer there figured it would just be way too much effort to get me in and out of there before 9...so when I showed up at the WEM location at 8:42 and was welcomed in immediately, I was more than happy and impressed. Very very clean shop, all staff members that were there were so super friendly and just happy that they could help me out, especially since I'd had some poor luck just a few moments earlier. I'll definitely be a returning customer!! Thanks again guys! read more

Took my daughter here today to get her ears pierced. Clean and tidy shop, cost $110 for a set of basic earrings. (plus gst plus ear spray) Candice was so so so nice, kind, fun and made the experience wonderful for her. She was quick and gentle. I'm very happy with Candice's service. The couple others I talked with were not that friendly and I felt like I was a bit of an annoyance to them asking questions, however they were like that with another customer that had walked in while I was there as well....that's the only reason for the 4 star rather than 5 star review. Overall, I'd recommend it in a heartbeat :) read more

Everyone here is great! So friendly and kind. I got my tongue pierced here by Candice and she was awesome! Kept me feeling very calm, happy and safe throughout the whole thing! Did the piercing very quickly and kept it as painless and possible! Came in the next day to discuss an issue I was having with a piercing I had gotten at another shop previously and Candice was also an amazing help with that! Love this shop and will definitely only be coming here with my piercing/tattoo needs!! read more

I went in as a walk in for a nose piercing. Needed it done again because I didn't like the placement of my previous one George was very informative and helpful to help me choose placement Quick and very little pain. The atmosphere was really relaxing. Love the idea of it being in a mall. Safer environment then strip malls or downtown. Thank you George . I will recommend you to anyone who asks read more

I was between here and dragon fx, but chose here due to bad experience with a piercing at dragon fx. George did my piercings and he was extremely nice, professional and knowledgeable :-) I haven't had any problems whatsoever with the piercings and the price was competitive with all other places. Extremely happy and would highly recommend this place :-) read more

My aunt and I got nose piercings done here yesterday and had a great experience! The piercer's name was Candice and she was very friendly and put us both at ease. The shop was clean and very efficient. The whole process only took about a half an hour. Day 2 and my nose barely hurts at all so I am impressed so far! I would definitely come back again. read more

Great experience! I came by the shop as a walk in after reading great reviews on Yelp, and got my nose pierced by George. Staff was friendly and knowledgable, and took the time to go over their sterilization process with me. Process was quickly and literally almost painless, will definitely be back! read more

I got my nose and daith pierced by George. The staff was really great, and George is super knowledgable and experienced. Doesn't necessarily look as alternative as a lot of other piercers, but quite frankly, I'd go with experience over appearances any day. I would definitely recommend going here! read more

I needed a little tattoo therapy on Sunday and was privileged enough to have Dee do a couple small tattoos on me. She was super professional, fun and just the sweetest little thing! The tattoos turned out better than expected. 10/10 recommend seeing Dee for your next tattoo!! read more
