I went to dinner here this evening and was impressed. The first thing I was impressed with the welcoming ADA entrance for my wheelchair. It just got better from there. The lumpia, mango salad, and the crispy chicken wings are the cripiest I've ever had. Needless to say, i was immediately impressed. They also have one of my favorite beers on tap, Mac & Jack's. The waitstaff was so nice and attentive, too.
I'll always love a local business and this is a total hidden gem. Customer service was amazing, their cocktails are awesome and their flavors are unmatched! My personal favorite was the lumpia!
Back again, this place is on our rotation list for sure! The all day breakfast is a great offering! Love the lechon pork benedict and also the pork adobo fried rice with over medium eggs. My dining partner got the kare kare this time and it was delicious too!

The food was so delicious! From the Lechon plate, burrito, ube waffles with garlic fish sauce wings- everything was so flavorful. Even my picky 9-year old enjoyed the food. The ube horchata was also so yummy. Loved the creativity of each dish on the menu. Service was also excellent. My only callout is that ambience feels very casual though food is upscale (our meal for 3 with tip was just under $100). It's great if you have kids but if you're looking for a fancy setting- just wanted you to know what to expect!
Unfortunately while they have some filipino dishes, but unfortunately whole tasted decent, they are not authentic. We got sisig (with pork belly), savory and edible, but it's not crunchy. The portion is fairly small as well As for halo-halo, it tasted bland for a dessert. Shaved ice is very rough almost like crushed ice instead of shaved ice. The jellies etc toppings are too little. The only thing carrying the entire dessert is the taste of ube ice cream on top.
Had to try this place and thoroughly enjoyed it. We are Filipino so can be highly critical and skeptical. But, this was so good! It is located in McKinley area and have limited food options but this is a cool spot. Paying homage to their Filipino culture, they have art work and show the Philippines on the tv screens. And the music playlist is all my old school jams which I really enjoyed. The food was soooo good! Had the longanisa, lumpia, chicken adobo and ube drink. Wow o wow wow yumminess. Def try all the dishes. You won't regret it. The people are nice and always get seated fairly fast. Feel that the service is on point! Def will go again. Must try!!!

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday and the place was pretty full, always a good sign. The atmosphere felt warm and homey, like a true Filipino spot. We started with the lumpia, which were super fresh and had a perfect meat to wrapper ratio; crispy, flavorful, and not greasy at all. The longganisa was really good. Sweet, savory, and well caramelized. Reminds me of home! And the garlic rice was absolute fire' The tapa was a bit dry and could use just a bit more marinade, maybe a touch more garlic or vinegar to really make it pop. Overall, it's a solid spot if you're craving Filipino comfort food done right. Great food, great energy, and definitely worth a visit! Will be taking my mom here to try the palabok and lechon!
Food: Kate Kate with crispy pork. Delicious! I was skeptical at first since the sauce didn't look like the normal color but I believe they used fresh ingredients. Also ordered ube coffee which had a good balance of ube and coffee and it wasn't too sweet like others I've had. To top it all off, the turon for dessert with vanilla ice cream! This place has to be the best Filipino restaurant in Tacoma. I had been driving to Kent but now I can go here!! So glad this opened up. Service was excellent! Ambiance was good! Clean and well maintained. I wish this establishment much success and that you open more throughout Washington state!
As a Filipina, it was a must to try this place out! My husband and I loved the food, staff, and ambiance here. For food, we ordered the longanisa which came with eggs (can be scrambled or sunny side up) and fried rice. Fried rice was a bit too salty vs garlic. We also ordered the palabok (can be crunchy noodles or soft noodles). Palabok sauce came separately and tasted great. Lechon was juicy and crunchy. Noodles melted perfectly and werent soggy with the sauce. For drinks, we ordered the calamansi iced tea and ube horchata. The ube horchata was too sweet while the calamansi iced tea was just right. Not too sour, not too sweet, and not too bitter. Place was small, but was able to house enough people as people only spent about an hour or two if they had a family. On a Sunday it was busy. Overall, I definitely recommend! Small, delicious, and ambiant Filipino restaurant that will satisfy your cravings.
I'm always looking for good lechon, and I think I found one here. Highly recommend the Lechon Belly $23, which comes with lechon, sunny side egg and adobo rice. The skin is so crunchy, almost too crunch when it's hot. Believe it or not, the skin remained crunchy when I had it cold later that day. The homemade sauce is so good, tasted fresh, not overly salty and binds all the components together. Service is stellar. The young waiter is very friendly with recommendation. I forgot to take my calansi iced tea (very refreshing!) when I left, and found it was already taken away when I came back to grab it a couple minutes later (fast clean up lol). He offered to make me another one without me asking. Thanks dude! Overall, I had a great first experience here. The inside is clean and bright, with fun wall decor. I came for lunch during the week so it wasn't too busy, but was told it gets crazy busy on the weekend, especially Sundays.
The restaurant is located in a quaint neighborhood near other businesses. The interior is a very homey vibe with Filipino touches with the interior decor. I came to visit Lechon Loco for a Yelp Elite event a few weeks ago. I received a complementary calamansi tea and lumpia. The lumpia served here is the closest thing to how my late mother made it and it just soothes my heart a little. The calamansi tea was a refreshing take on ice tea. The business had a few customers on a weekday evening. The server was friendly and attentive. I was a big fan of the salmon, but it was a little overcooked for preference. The sauce and the veggies with the salmon with rice were such delightful bites. The pollo ala parilla was great too. My husband had a preference for this one. I loved the sauce for this dish. My husband's critique was he wished the garlic rice had more of a garlic taste. The portions sizes were generous and we had enough for leftovers for the following day. I would definitely recommend this place! I'm excited to bring my Filipino father to try out this restaurant in the near future. Funny enough, he heard about it recently and told me he wanted to try it. I can't wait to try the other items like the crispy palabok.

I decided to drop by here for lunch yesterday after having passed by this restaurant for several months now. I'm glad that I did decide to come in for what is one of the best meals I've had in a very long time. I arrived alone at around 1:00 PM. The dining area was about half full and the server had me seated fairly quickly. The server was polite and welcoming and got my order in fairly quickly as well. The menu had plenty of options but was not overloaded to where I needed to review it a few times over to make my decision for what I wanted to eat and drink. My drink only took a couple of minutes to prepare and my meal was prepared about 10 minutes. The food was flavorful and not overly spicy. The portions were plentiful making the price point a great value. My experience at this restaurant was so good that I recommended it to a friend. My friend decided that he wanted to try the restaurant a couple of hours after I had my meal. I came back because I was excited to see what his reaction would and he was as pleased as I was! He loved the food so much he decided to put in a takeout order for his dad who he was going to visit after finishing up at the restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone interested in a welcoming environment and great food. For those who consume alcohol, the restaurant has a full bar and beer available. read more
I grew up with a lot of beautiful filipino folks and the perk to having that friend circle was all the amazing food I got to eat. I finally was able to stop in here. I had not been here since it was under previous ownership and a different name but same food genre... is that what it's called? Food Genre? Anyways, stopped in finally. It was a late lunch/early dinner. Usually I don't like being the only customers in a restaurant but given the time of day, I was the only hungry person in Tacoma. We were immediately greeted by friendly staff. The inside looked like it had been updated a bit, the floor looks like it may still be a work in progress... but things take time and that doesn't affect the food. I had the chicken adobo. Man! That gravy/sauce was amazing. I couldn't help but think of other things I could put that stuff on (loco moco immediately came to to mind). It was so good. My girl ordered the pancit. The pancit came with two different types of noodles, pork belly, and shrimp. It was very tasty as well. I was used to only having pancit with the rice noodles but I believe the other more thick noodles were egg noodles. Either way, it was very good. Now, we started out with the lumpia. I like to think I know good lumpia, and these lumpia definitely did not disappoint. We will absolutely be back because there are a few more things on that menu that I need to eat. My review is solely based on a takeout order and includes only the appetizer - Lumpia and the Calamansi iced tea. Since this is a Filipino restaurant, I appreciated how the vibe and presentation aligned well with the cuisine Now, onto the food I believe this is the best lumpia I've had so far. The flavor of the pork and the overall balance of ingredients were absolutely perfect I honestly couldn't believe I was eating pork, it was that good. The Calamansi iced tea was also a highlight. It wasn't overly sweet, which I really appreciated. It had just the right amount of sweetness and was very refreshing. Overall, both the lumpia and the tea were delightful. So good! Thank you Yelp & Lechon Loco for being able to try this gem of a restaurant. The Calamansi Tea was tangy and delicious. The lumpia were hot, super crispy, meat was well seasoned. I ordered the Ube Iced Coffee was creamy, not too sweet and smooth. In addition I also ordered the Pork Bagnet Chicharon and the Pasta Con Camarones "Palabok Style". The Chicharon were crispy , but the pork melted in my mouth. The guava chili jam was sweet and tangy. I didn't get a lot of chili heat, but it was still really good. My absolute favorite was the Palabok! My friend used to make it from scratch for me every year for my birthday, this is THAT good. The sauce is a rich shrimp flavor. I got it with the soft noodles, but they also come crispy fried which is also so good! Amazing experience, I'll definitely be back soon! read more

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with kindness and a genuine sense of local flavor. The atmosphere was friendly, cozy, and family-friendly--exactly the kind of place that makes you want to come back. We tried the calamansi iced tea and the lumpia, and both were delicious. The lumpia was fried to crispy perfection on the outside, with soft, juicy meat on the inside. It paired beautifully with the bright, tart notes of the calamansi iced tea. The flavors complemented each other really well and made for a light but satisfying meal. We were there around 4 or 5 PM on a Sunday, and even though it was starting to get busy, the service was wonderful. Each server was attentive and made sure everyone felt taken care of. There was also plenty of parking, which made the visit even smoother. If you want good Filipino, than this is the spot for you. The lumpia and pancit were absolutely delicious. I believe we tried almost everything because we couldn't decide on what to get. The service was great and the restaurant was very clean and quiet. Will definitely come again! read more

Dine in We stopped by here for lunch and ordered the Loco Moco, Palabok, and Kare Kare. The food was absolutely delicious! The Loco Moco was my favorite--it was the best for me. We will definitely come back again. The customer service was great as well. The ambiance was warm, welcoming, and relaxing, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. read more
I had gone here over the summer for an event and it was tasty so I've been wanting to come back (that ube waffle left a mark on my heart ). I think some people are expecting authentic Filipino food and forget it's a Latin-Filipino fusion. I digress...I met with some friends for dinner and I ordered the Lumpia Smash Burger. I personally wouldn't get it again, it wasn't really a smash burger to me... there were 2 patties and one seemed just like a frozen burger patty and the other was a thick meat shape... not a patty but not a meatball. I didn't taste any chipotle either... My friend got the Pandan Fried Chicken and I tried a piece of his chicken. You ever get food envy? Because that's where I was. Everyone at the table loved what he got. No one went hope hungry and our server was so friendly and patient with us trying to decide what we wanted. We definitely think overall this place is a winner and would go back. read more

As a fellow Filipina whos been wanting to satiate their craving for filipino food - the entire experience--from the food to the service--was outstanding. The chicken adobo was easily the star of the meal: tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. You can tell it's been slow-cooked with care because every bite was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I showed my non-filipino friends who's never had filipino food and they agreed the food was OUTSTANDING and want to come back again immediately. The lumpia came out hot, crispy, and packed with well-seasoned filling. They were the kind of appetizer you could eat a dozen of without realizing it--light, crunchy, and incredibly satisfying. To finish, I tried the ube cheesecake, and it was beyond expectations. Creamy SMOOTH, it had just the right amount of sweetness with that unique, ube flavor shining through. It's the kind of dessert you keep thinking about long after the meal. On top of the fantastic food, the service was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Cute little spot! Parking is limited, so make sure you time your visit right. We went before 11 a.m. on a Sunday morning, and there were only two tables occupied--so yay! They had late 90s and early 2000s music playing, so you already know the vibe was great. I forgot to take a picture of the menu, but it doesn't have any photos of the dishes, so we used their social media or food reviewers for reference. When our food came, it was exactly as described on the menu, so don't worry too much about that. I'm sure whatever you choose will taste exquisite. The customer service was friendly and attentive. It's a bit pricey, but in my opinion, the nostalgia in both the food and atmosphere made it a wonderful experience. I would definitely go back to try more of their menu. The 4-star rating is only because the menu lacked photos to better describe and highlight the dishes. Also, I saw a food reviewer visit this exact location but couldn't find their stuffed Ube French toast, which was one of the reasons I wanted to go. Maybe it's a seasonal item; I'm not sure. By definitely give Lechon Loco a try! I'm positive you'll enjoy it. read more

The place is not that big, you can't miss it, the building is black and it's in the corner of the street, very visible. We went after 1pm and it was not busy. We got a table right away. The menu has Filipino, and Mexican dishes. We opted for the lumpias, Calamansi ice tea, palabok noodles, chicken/pork adobo with garlic rice. The lumpias were very good and crispy, the palabok needed more shrimp sauce. It tasted a lot better after we asked for extra sauce. The chicken/pork was very good(not salty or vinegary). For dessert, we had the bibingka and turon with churro ice cream. Overall it was a very good lunch for my wife and I. We will be back here! read more

Silverware are nicely wrapped in napkin but when opened, a very excited insect came running out of it!! Didn't get any apology from "the boss" nor from the waiter. Prayed before I ate, that we don't get sick after seeing that bug run out of the napkin and across our table and landed safely onto the tiled floor, and quickly went into hiding. (So I guess I had "no proof" it ever happened) The food is served with portion sizes that is probably considered "a lot", at least for me. Since after a few bites I'm already done. Ordered: -beef tapa (not bad; meet is ughh) -sisig (7/10 good) -loco moco ( not great.) Being served as a loco moco style; this definitely tasted like meat loaf without the kethup, So it's meatloaf with loco moco gravy. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back since it's located in a sketchy part of Tacoma. Plus the prices!! omg $64 for breakfast for a "party of tres". Just give it try and let us know. read more

OK so I don't cook or order pancit in a restaurant normally because 1. I don't know how to make it for less than 12 people and there's only two people in the house and 2. if I can cook it, I don't usually order it. Anyway: believe me when I say that this place is making my mommy's pancit. The only thing it's missing is maybe snow peas and chinese sausage. But the taste is my mother's. She died 36 years ago so maybe my food memory isn't quite right but it certainly looks like it. It's delicious! So now if I'm stuck in traffic on I-5 near the Tacoma Dome and I need a good food memory, I will go up the hill to McKinley Ave. I don't normally cry in private or in public, but given the right mood, I could sit there sometime in the fall or winter and just sob and eat this. Is there a higher compliment that I could give somebody than "you're making my mommy's pancit!" ?? I asked the kind waitperson where in the Philippines the chef is from and he said Ilocos Sur. Don't sleep on this place! Lumpia came out piping hot- and their sauce is waaaay better than the one you buy at the store. Calamansi iced tea wasn't very sweet but still had the flavor. Lechon was on point- perfectly paired with adobo rice and a fried egg! The bibingka stole the show for me. The service was just as good as the food. We were checked on constantly to make sure everything was good! Loved the dining area. Felt like home. Will be back to try more! read more

I really enjoyed this place. I think a good Filipino restaurant in the Tacoma area is hard to come by. So I was very happy to try this place and I have to say it was well worth the price. The people were nice, the restaurant was clean and tidy, and the food was great. The Lechon was delicious and comes with Atchara (a delicious papaya salad). The lumpia was also impressive, and they make their own lumpia sauce which was also pretty yummy. Our favorite part about our visit was the bibingka and the churro ice cream. I know everyone makes their bibinkga differently, but this stood out. And the churro ice cream was a fantastic touch and paired well with the bibingka. We'll be recommending it to our friends, and we will be coming back. read more

I came here with my mother (but will come here with my Filipino boyfriend) to try them out! We were able to find parking luckily and we also were lucky to grab the last seat as they had a full house inside. Our waiter welcomed us very warmly and professionally before grabbing some menus and then taking us over to the table. The table had little mats with utensils and at the wall end of the table had condiments, sauces, and little sauce dishes. The walls had some art on them with yellow and green paint on the walls. I felt the decor was cute and gives vibes of street eateries, which also feels amplified with street food videos at the Philippines playing on the TVs. The bathroom is all gender too as they had a urinal and toilet as well as a baby changing area. Our waiter did a great job checking in on tables and providing the same hospitality he showed us to everyone else. The check ins were less frequent once the restaurant was getting empty, but I am impressed with how fast they cleaned up tables once they get cleared. When I told him that I was a Yelp Elite and here for the event, he immediately told me that he would get me the Calamansi iced tea and got the lumpia getting made for me. We ended up ordering the lechon belly and a little later we got the ube iced coffee. The drinks were very refreshing and not overly sweet, which made us very happy as more often you get overly sweet drinks. Also, I noticed not one review mentioned their complimentary chips and salsa but I learned from the waiter that you can ask for it and they will provide it. Additionally, they will refill it for you too! The salsa didn't really have anything memorable but it's a complimentary so I'm not really going to say it was a negative. The lechon is by far one of the best that I have had in Washington. The stuffing they put in the lechon, especially the lemongrass, is such a burst of umami! Definitely coming back and trying more of their menu as well as return back for some favorites from this trip. read more

Easily one of the best new restaurants we have tried in Tacoma! So good and there is nothing like it around! We got the lumpia and fish sauce wings for apps, very good! The star of the show was the Pandan fried chicken and creamy noodles, so delicious, unique, and just perfect. The lumpia burger was devoured as well! The lechon pork was a perfect mix of crispy and fatty pork with amazing fried rice and topped with a fried egg. Service was great as well! Highly recommend if you're looking for great, authentic local food! read more

Are they pet friendly?
They dont have an outdoor patio, and its a smaller indoor place, so I doubt it unless its a service animal, but Im not certain.
