Lebowskis was Finnieston before Finnieston was cool. And while the owner might have bought over my beloved Wise Monkey and turned it into LUAC / Crafty Pig (meh), the original Lebowski's is still decent. It is, as you will have guessed a Big Lebowski theme bar. There are more items on the white russian menu than the burger menu - which, considering how overdone burgers are in Glasgow right now, quite nice. We had the lunchtime special of sandwich, drink & wedges for £5. Waitress was a little slow with the drinks service but the food was good. The chopping block plates need replacing, but I'm nitpicking. This is generally a good solid bar with an interesting spirits collection. First things first, I have visited here a few times before but mostly to partake of a beverage of the White Russian variety of which they have many (note to self: you are out of Kahlua). It's an odd-shaped place, but I think that adds to the cosy vibe it has, wider at the door to welcome people in with some nice dark little nooks towards the rear. Being in Finnieston I guess it falls into the 'hipster' scene but hey, the Dude abides. This time I was finally in to have some food and, having seen and heard of their food offerings I was looking forward to it. We managed to get a booth to ourselves, a stroke of luck as we hadn't booked anywhere (it was a Tuesday night about 7.30pm), and our drinks order was taken promptly, alas I was driving so had to look on with envy as a white russian was plonked down in front of my dining partner. Hey, I like Diet Coke, IT'S FINE!! The menu is pretty standard, burger oriented, fare, but my eye was drawn to the specials which include a Venison burger. Well I *am* trying to be a little bit healthy... When it arrived it was the, now standard, stacked high affair. A thick patty, thick sliced beef tomato, with cheese and red onion chutney. The brioche bun was nicely toasted - not so crumbly that it disintegrated - and once I'd dismantled it I was able to eat it! The venison patty was nice, but nothing amazing, the chunky chips on the side were good as well but overall I wasn't overwhelmed. It wasn't bad, it was an ok burger, the type of which I've had before. I've had some great nights in Lebowskis in the past, the DJ on a Friday night is pretty damn good (no dance music here, this is definitely one for the indie/rock/rap crowd) and whilst the service was ok, they did seem a bit lost - again my pet peeve of having to wait overly long to pay the bill because the staff don't pay attention!! I'll be back, but more for the drinks and the atmosphere than the food. read more

Again just a drinks only review here (promise I don't have a drinking problem!). Lebowskis is a great bar to head to in Finnieston, and an absolute must for any White Russian lover. Though it is VERY busy at weekends, the service is extremely quick, which is a huge plus. Huge range of drinks on offer, all reasonably priced. The main drinks on offer are White Russians (it's the Big Lebowskis favourite drink after all) in numerous different combinations of flavour (I'm sure there was a Buckfast one on last time I was in!). If you like White Russians, you won't be dissapointed, and if you've never tried them, you won't be dissapointed either! A must visit for anyone in the area. read more

Booked for food on a Friday night at eight. The menu is quite small which wouldn't be a problem if they had not run out of most things. Settled for the big lebowski burger whilst my girlfriend got the Mac and cheese. Both were awful. The burgers were dried nasty looking things and the macaroni cheese was a congealed non cheesy slop. Last year in Iceland the Lebowski Bar in Reykjavik became a go to for us and we got pretty excited to find another one in Glasgow. This one, while not affiliated with the one in Reykjavik, did not disappoint. We had a very good portobello burger, fries and the waiter pointed me to an excellent Bourbon I had never tried before. White Russian heaven! Who knew a Lebowksi themed bar would be a dream come true? I got the Donny and fell in love with the amaretto flavor and the added texture, it was my favorite by far. Great laid-back bar with a lengthy white russian menu. I opted for The Jesus and it was sooooo good. If white russians ain't your thang there's a full bar too. It's in an ideal location for a pre-gig drink if you're heading off to the Hydro, SECC or Clyde Auditorium afterwards, or if it's a sunny day there's a decent sized outdoor area on the street. I remember eating here with friends a few years ago and having a great burger but I think I'll need to refresh my memory of the eating experience here with another visit soon... I know places can get busy however on a trip to lebowskis it's clear that people love to drop in, which is certainly no bad thing For me it was overcrowded and you literally couldn't stand without being jostled around let alone try get to the bar. Only reason I stayed is a group of us had booked a meal before a show at the hydro Firstly with our 6pm booking we were not seated till close to 6:30 7 of us were crammed in to a booth that should be for 4 people with space for some elbows We ordered, food took ages to arrive even with asking several times Once the food got there it was tasty however eating it with your arms pinned to your sides wasn't great Again slow to get bill Due to all the hold ups with our booking we all missed the opening of the show. Nice quaint pub. It is super close to my apartment so it has become my go to place. The ambiance is nice as a Canadian I always manage to stick out and start conversations with all the locals Super cool thing about this place is that they have speciality White Russians. I am not the biggest fan of White Russians but I mean you have to try one if the place is famous for them. There are 26 and each sounds cooler than the last. All in all it is a good pub with great people and an interesting drink menu. read more

Is this the coolest bar in Glasgow? I wasn't in Glasgow long enough to find out, but I have a hard time imagining one better. The name was the initial draw; at first I thought it might be coincidence but as soon as I saw the pop art portrait of The Dude I knew I was home. Sly cinematic references aside, this is a lively, sharp looking bar with an excellent selection and stocked with fairly good looking people. Visited on the weekend for an unplanned meal with a friend. I have been before but only for drinks and noticed that the food did look good, especially if you like burgers. It was a Sunday afternoon so quite quiet with only a few people having drinks. Staff were really friendly and attentive to us, getting us drinks and our food order really quick. I ordered the pulled pork burger with skinny fries and a side of onion rings. I was really hungry! The burger was really tasty and the onion rings are something special. I would definitely recommend them! The food could have been a little hotter, but I was so hungry that I wasn't going to complain. Really great place if you fancy a big burger, albeit maybe a little expensive considering all the other burger joints around... Good vibe, good staff, good food and the cocktails looked great! We ended up at Lebowskis as the final destination on our pub crawl. First impressions were of a lively bar with nice decor - you can't go wrong with fairy lights in my book. As the name suggests, the inspiration is the movie "the big lebowski" the main talking point is the cocktail menu which has around 50 different takes on the White Russian cocktail. I personally find the concept of milk and alcohol as a mixture quite revolting and so stayed clear but my pals all had a different one and seemed to enjoy their concoctions. There was a live DJ playing rather pretentious dance music which set the tone for the clientele that started pouring in. Not my sort of music but was bearable for an hour or so. We managed to get a booth to sit at latterly which was good. Enjoyed our drink here atmosphere wise, just not sure it'll be a regular feature on a night out. read more

Itison deal - 2 main meals (burgers) and a glass of wine or bottle of peroni £12. Bought 2 vouchers as I treated my Dad for his bday. Got a better deal last year 2 courses and glass/bottle £12. Burgers are great and haggis lasagne excellent, puddings not so great. Friendly service, bar nice however couldn't have a conversation with family as music was so loud. read more

I have been here about 3 or 4 times now and never been disappointed. I love a White Russian so the fact that this bar hosts a huge selection of them is perfect for me. On my last occasion I tried the toe, mint chocolate White Russian. It was tremendous. I would say they don't come in cheap so if you are looking for a value I would go for the big lebowski, a pint sized White Russian. It's around 8 pound but for the size of drink you definitely won't need more than one. They also have a buckfast White Russian which I still have not worked up the courage to try. On the food side of things they do some huge delicious burgers. The staff are always very friendly and on the one occasion where some other customers were causing a ruckus by throwing chips across the booths the manager was extremely apologetic to us and even brought us a free round of shots. They definitely put the customer first and like I say do a mean White Russian. read more

Very pleasant, warm environs and an extremely enthusiastic staff make this pub a worthwhile stop along Argyle St. The owners of Lebowski's have gone through painstaking efforts to pair their extensive drink menu with specific food items from their new menu and will take the time to discuss their thought processes on why they work together. I like White Russians ergo I like Lebowskis but it wasn't until a visit to the pop up in the Southside that I had sampled the food. I was going to the wrasslin' on Friday night so we booked a table for a quick after work scran down. It was a good job we did because the place was rammed. If we didn't have a table reserved I would have walked out but that's just me. I like my space! After hearing some rave reviews about the burgers I plumped for the 'classic' Lebowski topped with Applewood Cheddar, Pulled Pork and Bourbon BBQ sauce (although rather annoyingly you had to put that on the burger yourself, don't bill it as a topping and then give it to me in a wee dish!). The burger was great and lovely and pink in the middle my additions of pulled pork and BBQ sauce were of course a master stroke however I was slightly annoyed to find a slice of tomato at the base of my burger (I really don't like raw tomato so I always ask for it without but as there was no mention of it on the menu I thought I was safe.) I got mine with skinny fries (TOP TIP coming) which you have to taste before you even think about lifting that salt shaker as they were highly seasoned. I really enjoyed my burger and wouldn't hesitate to get food again next time I'm there just ditch the tomato and put the toppings actually on the burger not on the side! read more

its a great little place to go to when you have finished work and just want to let of some steam . It is one of the pubs in the area aimed at a younger crowd which is great cause a lot of the pubs around here dont really have much atmosphere or appeal . Usually busy with business types but just out for a laugh would recommend it over any other in the area if you where here then should pop in for a qquick one . read more

Admittedly, you would be forgiven for thinking that Lebowski's is is simply somewhat of a tribute to The Dude, but it is so much more than that. Located close to the equally excellent Bar 78, Lebowski's is a real gem in the less well known area between the city centre and the west end. In terms of drinks, a well stocked bar with some nice premium beers and a good selection of single malt whiskys on top of a cocktail list with all the familiars plus 14(!) different variations of the white russian means your really are spoilt for choice. I really like the decor in this bar too. Slightly baroque yet still reminds me of a proper pub in some respects. Varied music with open mic on a sunday and dj's in on the weekend means theres something for everyone! Finally, the staff are fantastic. Really friendly and relaxed, a welcome break from the often pushy city centre bar staff! All in all, a great bar! read more

Ive been to its sister bar the finnieston and had a lovely meal - this was a mid week suggestion by one of our friends. What a great wee pub this is. Loved the cocktails and out of nowhere this locally sourced food menu appeared. We had a great meal and got to try some pretty cool white russian drinks. Discovered Lewbowski's while in Reykjavík. We were quite tickled to find another location in Glasgow. Ultimately looks like they are unrelated, but no matter. The food was lovely -- veggie burgers are often the only vegetarian option available, so I tend to be skeptcial, but these were spectacular!
