I found Emporia through my neighborhood news mailer, where they were offering a discounted service rate. I called and spoke to Kris, and received immediate friendliness and concern for my needs. Surprisingly, they even had an opening the same day. I did not expect that, so I was feeling extremely lucky. Chris arrived and evaluated my AC and the furnace, provided education and an explanation for everything he was looking for. He was professional, polite and efficient. I will definitely use them again, and will happily refer them to others.

Following a quick search on social media, many of our neighbors recommended Emporia. They had a technician out to our house in less than two hours, who quickly diagnosed the problem. Nicholas was simply fantastic! He indicated that he could get the part we needed but couldn't likely come back until the following Monday. I told Nicholas that we were having our 5 month old grandson for the weekend and I was concerned how cold it would be for him. Nicholas thought about it for a moment and said something similare to, "I try to figure out a way to get this done." To do this, I think he had to get it cleared with his boss since it would likely require him to work late. Sure enough, later that afternoon, Nicholas returned and fixed the furnace. We are so impressed with Nicholas and Emporia. I feel very comfortable recommending Emporia to anyone, and if you can get Nicholas - even better. The service was great, the price was fair, and I'm sure they know they could have overcharged me and I was in a position that I would have to pay it. They did not. Thanks guys! You are very much appreciated!

The installers arrived on time got right to work and then waited about an hour after the install to make sure the furnace was working. Our 2 story house is roughly 3300 sq ft including the basement. The builder previous name William Lyon at the time installed all the homes with a 2.5 Ton Rheem A/C. Based on my amateur research a 3000 sq ft house should of required a 4-5 Ton system to effectively cool the house. After just one year the A/C was not cooling down below 75. TM warranty department called Eastside and sent out Efren the tech to diagnose the problem he found out the TXV (thermal expansion valve) was bad and ordered the part for replacement. Efren came back a week later and replaced the part and he was very detailed and friendly and even cleaned the coils inside the A/C fan. Now the A/C is much better and I can cool down to 70 degrees on a hot day. I've heard conflicting answers on wether or not to close vents in basement for more airflow to upstairs. What I did is I kept one basement vent open but closed rest of them and upstairs does indeed get more cooler air. One more thing I learned is that A/C systems do not draw fresh air from the outside instead they recirculate indoor air. With all the recent smoke pollution, it's actually better to keep windows closed and use A/C. Even though I believe our builder A/C is undersized for the house, but the team at Eastside have been very helpful and professional and I highly recommend them for HVAC work. Nothing is better than chilling in a cool house when it's 100 degrees out. Good job and thanks Efren!

When my A/C stopped working suddenly I had the problem initially diagnosed by another larger company, who sent an inexperienced tech that told me that my entire system was in disrepair and that it needed to be replaced for almost $20K, because they could see rust on the coils and they could smell a refrigerant leak. I then set up an appointment with SMSI and got a second, HONEST AND INFORMED, opinion. After doing a comprehensive assessment, they were able to accurately diagnose and repair my A/C by replacing a part that only costs $100!! From start to finish, they were completely professional, responsive, honest, and reliable. But most importantly, they have the professional experience and knowledge required to do a fantastic job when you really need it. They are simply AMAZING and I will be calling them for all future repair/maint needs!

He didn't try to sell my something I didn't need. The cost was minimal. I would Trust Duffey's over any of those big fancy painted vans who try to sell you something you don't need. I won't even consider calling them. Always call Duffey's Heating and Air Conditioning.

Thanksgiving week my 20-year-old Bryant furnace failed (rusted heat exchangers) so I got four bids…read morefrom two kinds of contractors: two high overhead corporate HVAC companies with fancy brightly-colored vans and starched-shirt techs, and two small business HVAC'ers with low overhead, decaled pickup trucks, and jeans. While I was prepared to pay much higher replacement costs across the board than pre-Covid prices , the bid range was shocking, as much as $15K difference between high and low. Duffey's was one of the low bidders, and I am so glad I went with them. The higher bidders tried to upsell me to replace my AC at the same time, get a higher btu furnace, etc., but not Shawn Duffey. Instead, he explained why my current size was fine, and respected the fact that heat was the priority. But what impressed me was how he explained parts availability for the brand he would install (Amana) and certain models whose parts replacement costs were as much as 50% lower (pricey variable vs torque-drive motors). He and his helper Mike came over and had the old one out and the new one installed, including wider venting pipes and other upgrades, cleanly and efficiently in about 4.5 hours. He also had the new furnace delivered by the distributor, who hauled the old one away for recycling--again, saving costs. But what really impressed me was he refused payment until Jeffco signed off on the inspection the next week. So Shawn and Mike literally installed the same Amana, with upgraded venting, for $13K less than the top corporate bidder, and I couldn't be happier. So lessons learned: 1) get at least four bids from different kind of companies, 2) if there is any upsell, avoid, and 3) make Shawn Duffey one of your bids. I highly recommend going with him; you will not be disappointed. His service area is also limited to SW Denver Metro, and that's a good thing. Local, knowledgeable, reasonable, and personable.
