The bartender was super friendly and even tried to find a beer that would fit my tastebuds ( I don't like beer but I like a good time!) I ended up on a blueberry ale and my fiancé had a good time tasting many a different beers as well. The place used to have a good truck in the back but they are now renovating to have their own food options which I'm excited about. They have a running club that's also based here and after a 5k they all meet for a beer, that's pretty cool. I originally came to study but there was a private event inside so I meandered outside which was pretty nice. Although I probably won't study here it is a nice hangout, especially since other local places close pretty early. read more

By far the best ales and lager in Tampa Bay. Love their focus on German styles and porters and stouts, so lucky it is close. Friendly staff and Uber clean premises. Fact you can bring in a Domino pizza and enjoy a few jars caps it off. Also the clientele that gravitate to this place all seem to be good people at least very friendly. Best Brewery in the area!! My husband and I love going a couple of times a week to have a great time, great beers and sandwiches! The staff is AMAZING...Maria, Dennis, Cori, Mike, Dave, Trent and Clint are the best!! Every week we are greeted with a warm smile and hug. Feels like you are within a loving family. Great atmosphere with a laidback vibe! The drinks were great, staff was awesome and social. I had the Cheeky Blonde and very much liked it. Trent recommended the Date Night and it was delicious as well. I visited Leaven on a Friday night and it was pretty busy. I will definitely be returning with friends and family. My husband and I love coming here! We also have a four year old son and puppy that joins along since it's so family oriented and dog friendly. They have plenty of games and TVs to just hang and enjoy a couple delicious cold beers and just chill. Definitely recommend! read more

Thanks to Tampa Bay foodies, I made a visit to this brewery. It was a super easy and fast drive over from Tampa. Located in a strip mall, they are easily spotted with a bright yellow sign. Plenty of parking. Walking in, past the outdoor seating, you step into an open room with minimalistic decor. It's bright and clean with lots of communal seating. There is a table shuffle board against the wall and stacks of games. Signs invite you to join in Geek trivia. The back door is open for whichever food truck is feeding the customers. Make sure to check Instagram or Facebook for the evenings food truck. Belly up to the bar and order a beer or even a flight to try them all. Unsure of what to have, as for a sample. They have a red or white wine on hand for the non beer drinkers and an assortment of snacks. The beer is created on site. Husband and wife team, BJ and Jillian brew everything in 5 tanks with laughter and lots of passion! We were lucky enough to get a behind the scenes tour (unfortunately, BJ was home sick) I loved hearing the history and why beer. This is a must visit. read more

We attended the grand opening, of a much needed brewery in Riverview. The owners are very friendly and we're married at a brewery! Every beer my husband tried. I'm not a beer drinker but the Pinot noir was good too. They also had very good food trucks, our group shred the Mac and cheese, chicago hot dog, cheese burger tater tots, and wagyu burger and everything was tasty! Straight up - the beer is superb, the stripped down motif is completely rad, and lastly the service was genuine and personable. I enjoyed my visit. Please note this was a four beer visit. I wanna say I had twon twin old school IPAs, a g'boy IPA, and a cherry stout. I enjoyed them all immensely and could taste the passion in my mouth. I mean it definitely had the viscosity of passion. Anyways... One note - they don't have food, but they did have a food truck parked literally one foot outside the back of the building during my visit. I'm dropping the five-star bomb on these fine people and promising I will return for some additional beers and shuffleboard. read more

We love Leaven! The house water is actually amazing. Great place to bring your pup and enjoy great craft beers and games! The have food trucks on rotation and this brewery is just too much fun. Stopped by this brewery on opening night and it was packed. There were tons of people in the parking lot full. There wasn't much room to hang out, but I see the situation improving. Parking was limited opening day but otherwise there's a lot. The owners are really nice people and they take pride in what their beers. The inside was not fully completed with decor as it appeared they were still working on it. Size wise the brewery is moderate size, not as big as Coppertail, but double the size of Hidden Springs. They only had 2 or 3 picnic tables out, but I'm hoping that they'll have more and that was a way to keep the crowd under control. They only had 4 beers available and I tried 1, the other one I had was from a guest brewery without knowing. I had the Crank IPA and it was great. One of the best IPAs I've had. I drove by after opening and it was still packed. I want to stop by again when it slows down a bit and when their hours aren't limited. read more

This is definitely the best brewery in the greater Tampa area. I felt at home the second I walked into the taproom! The first time we came was the grand opening and although there were hundreds of people there, the owners greeted us warmly and every beer we tried we were impressed with. The Anarchist Cats (citra pale ale) is back from the opening and it has a very complex and refreshing taste. Great, new brewery right down the road from our house. We went for the first time on a Thursday and it was definitely busy. They also had trivia going on that night. My husband and I both enjoyed our beers, blonde & IPA. We left, came back a few hours later and got another beer. Mine wasn't as good as they were earlier in the night, hubby even tried it and agreed. I might of received the bottle of the barrel. Overall, this is a fun place though.
