The beer is cold and cheap, the views are lovely from the deck. It is an old school dive bar and the 5 stars are based on that expectation. My spouse and I have gone for a few Friday night dates recently and the servers have been great about topping off our bucket of beer with ice throughout the evening. This hole in the wall place was fantastic. Cheap, COLD beer and our bartender Kayla was the best. We sat outback for a few hours and watched the boats go back and forth. We ordered food from their permanent food truck on site and it was REALLY good. I ordered the Ribs, wings, collards, and baked beans. My husband had the Burger and said it tasted too much like meatloaf. You have to get their Cilantro sauce - so good. We had a long drive from Pinellas County and I'd do it again. read more

First time here. Sort of put off by the outside smoking, but I get it, it's is a bar. When we first arrived, the entire table of 6 that was near us all smoked. After they left, it definitely got better. Service was excellent and super friendly. View was excellent. Price for beer was good and not over priced. Parking wasnt that bad, but if you get there at peak hours on Friday afternoon or the weekend, you will run into issues with trying to find a place to park. Food, which is served next door from a food trailer, I gave sort of mixed reviews. Regualr cheese burger had really good flavor, BUT... the texture when eating it was like meatloaf. Not really a fan of that part, but would consider trying again to see if it is made the same way. I assume it is, because the people I was with said the same thing. Fries were good and well seasoned. Also tried the ribs, which were pretty good. Standard BBQ for the area. Baked beans were very good and better than most places in the area. Collards with very so so. Also got some Gator bites blackened. They came highly recommended, especially this way. They were very chewy. Flavor was so so, for me. Did not like at all and only ate a few. 1/5 for the gator. The bar also serves boiled peanuts at times. They were fantastic. Some of the best I've ever had, but they go quick. We ended up staying there for about 4 hours overall. read more

Great old school joint in the river with friendly staff and great atmosphere! Had a blues band Saturday night that was terrific. Indoor and outdoor seating (under roof and open decks). I don't drink, but I do go here for weekly trivia. It's a small, hometown feel kind of bar, located on the river. Just beer and wine, with in door smoking. Fortunately, the smoke eaters do an excellent job of keeping the air clean. (I am a non smoker). The trivia is fun. It feels much more friendly and engaging than most bar trivia I have been attended. I enjoy my time there. Also there is a food shack with great bbq and fried food offerings, located on same lot, with outdoor seating for both bar and restaurant. I only came to have a beer and check out the place. I'm from California visiting family and spent the day checking out eight bars and grills. Beer Shed was my favorite. 1) Bud Light on draft. Several bars in the area don't even serve draft and if they do, not Bud Light! 2) Ice cold pitchers - Beer Shed uses pitchers with the ice rod in the middle to keep your beer cold. 3) Jukebox uses the TouchTunes app so patrons can select their music from their phone. The average age in the bar was around 40 so the music people were playing was awesome! I enjoyed every song. 4) On the River - beautiful location with boats coming and docking to enjoy the bar. 5) Nice bartender but just one trying to serve everyone slowed things down a bit. read more

The locals are so welcoming and have even recognized us outside of here. Nice bar right on the river. If you have a boat, pull that thing up and come in for a couple drinks. Okay so I'll preface this with saying, dive bars are one of my favorite settings to experience. Something about the atmosphere. People are encouraged to be themselves, the locals are inviting, and the beers are so damn cheap. We went on a Sunday afternoon to Beer Shed, which is definitely bigger than a shed but makes you feel close to the people as if you were in a shed (in the best way possible). Live music was playing with a band I imagine has been coming there for centuries (yes exaggerating but they were loved), bartenders were doing there thing slinging beer buckets to everyone, and the locals were chatting it up as if they didn't just see each other at the same place last night. How lucky we (my gf and I) were to find and experience this gem of a place. We had such an incredible time!! The bartenders were prompt and friendly. We ordered food from next door which was OUT of this world delicious, surprisingly so. Pulled pork, collard greens, and fries. All 10/10. A few locals introduced themselves to us and offered to share their bucket of beer and bought us a drink! HOW KIND! Not only that, it's right on the Alafia River. This is an ultra cool retro old Florida dive not to be missed. People have been coming here since the 60s or earlier, I was told. Situated on the river, views are fabulous. The shed is an old shed, and the interior is pure dive bar. The tables are anchored by old rubber tires. There's a huge outside deck. And there is a connected rib shack with all kinds of delicious old school food. The beers are cheap, and the bartenders are great. A lot of bikers usually pile in on Sunday afternoons, adding to the vibe. There's live music almost nightly. ( I do perform here, so I'm biased.) It's a little off the beaten track. I showed up at 11:10PM and the barmaid told me they were closed and started laughing along with the other 8 people(white) that were being served. Excellent down home rural dive bar. This place is frequented by regular people (If you are the judgmental elitist type, it may not be to your liking). The best part about "The Shed" is it's location on the river. A perfect situation with dockside picnic tables, and the occasional kiddo fishing while having family dinner. The Shed has good drink deals. We usually go for the buckets of beer for $16. While the Shed doesn't serve food, the adjacent food hut does. Well i honestly can't believe i walked into this place..... For the past year or so i would go up the river with my brother's heading toward Tampa to enjoy a day out on the water and we would always pass the Beer Shed and a couple things would ALWAYS stand out. As we would pass we would wave at the folks sitting on the patio and they NEVER waved back and im talking numerous times this happened Second thing that stood out.... they had the confederate flag waving through the air so i guessed that's why folks weren't so friendly to me and my brothers. Side note: my brother wrote a comment on their facebook page asking why do they fly that flag and he received hundreds of nasty and racially charged comments that still continue to this day from loyal customers. So fast forward to today and we are coming back from rolling up the river and my brother wants to stop in for a quick drink so pull up and man what an eerie vibe when we walked in smh it was almost like the music stopped when we hit the door because ALL eyes were directly on us three. The bartender rolled her eyes at us when we asked for tequila we didn't know they only serve beer. So just walked away from us lol as if we couldn't order anything else so we got up and left didn't even want to spend another second in this joint and the customers seemed happy to see us leave. I noticed a sign that said est 1960 smh i could only imagine the place back in those hateful days. And sad thing is my short visit here i still can feel that vibe in the air...
