We've had a lot of dog trainers over the years in different cities and for different dogs. Gavin is…read morethe most memorable and best one that we've ever had in Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. His training methods have that perfect balance between positive reinforcement and setting boundaries for your dog. We had Gavin come and train our 8-month old schnauzer at our place every other week or so for a couple months (due to weather). The training methods and "homework" he gives are reasonable, effective, and realistic for having a well-behaved dog at home that is also your pet. If you're familiar with schnauzers, you may know that they can be an extremely stubborn breed. Many people think that they're notoriously hard to train, but Gavin was more than up for the challenge, and we had results from our first session. Our schnauzer went from a world-class leash puller and leash biter to the being the best dog at Garden of the Gods in just over a month. Walking our pup went from being something stressful and mildly insane to something we were proud to do. One of the best things about Gavin is that he's so knowledgeable that he was flexible with what we needed as a family. We have 3 dogs, so there were day-to-day things that we wanted to work on outside of training our schnauzer on the basics of being a good dog. From how to walk the dogs together, how to manage their space, and how to create a sane environment with 3 dogs, Gavin has so many effective, helpful tips that are easy to implement and truly make a difference. We enjoyed every session with Gavin, and our pup Grumpy is all the better for it. We look forward to continuing to use the methods he taught us with him and future dogs. If you're looking for a dog trainer who really knows his stuff and provides actual, reasonable training tools that will work within your life, Gavin is your guy.

She also offers private in-home lessons at a very reasonable rate and we got so much value out of having her over to observe Archie in his home environment. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the quality and value of her lessons and looking forward to registering for Manners 210 soon.

They texted me when they were available. They booked a consultation with me not one time did any person mention a consultation fee. Which is not an issue some places charge a consultation fee some do not. The issue lies where they texted me at 6 o'clock in the morning the day of my consultation request requesting a payment from me and waking me up. I asked them if we could speak later than after I got another request for a payment. So I asked why are you sending me a payment link he says if you want to keep the consultation you have to pay for it I was like why would you not tell me that when I called to book the appointment to speak to you or when you were texting me. He laughed at me then tells me that it's posted all over their website. I wasn't referred via their website. So I let him know it doesn't matter you did not at any point in time mentioning a consultation fee then you think it's appropriate to wake me up at six something in the morning to ask me for a payment the day of the consultation. It was very unprofessional very rude and then when I told him that it was unprofessional that I would like to cancel the appointment they then laugh at me. And tell me that I'm being hostile. It's not being hostile not wanting to be woken up at 6 o'clock in the morning. It's not hostile saying that if there is a consultation fee, the client should be made aware of the fee prior to booking the consultation not 6 o'clock in the morning of. It makes you feel like the only thing these people care about is the money that they're not really trying to give anyone a good experience that they're not trying to make sure that when people come to this company, they experience a professional situation. I wouldn't book with somebody who treats their clients like this. Also for future reference when you guys read the review. You should mention to somebody when you're on the phone with them or even when you're texting them that there's a consultation fee when you're scheduling and how much it's for. Not just send them a payment link request requesting a random payment.

Our lives continued to get smaller as we could not have her around friends, family, and dogs. We tried several dog training companies with no success. And then we found behavioral vets. Dr. Maffeo quickly realized Remi is not aggressive; she is highly anxious.  We worked on a treatment and medication that included dog training with Eric G. and slowly started to understand our canine friend. Everything started coming together when we began working with Eric.  Remi responded exceptionally well to the positive reinforcement training. I cannot say enough good things about Eric. Hands down the best dog trainer I have ever worked with. He is kind and patient with Remi and me. Eric turned dog walks from chaotic embarrassing, and downright painful into a joyful bonding experience. I am a huge dog lover and have rescued and fostered. Dan helped me understand the dog pack mentality, and how important it was that Lucy see my husband and I as pack leaders. Before even working with Lucy he was extensive and clear about the psychology behind the training methods he would teach me. I was afraid that Lucy would be aggressive toward him being in our home since she has a history of aggression with visitors to our home, but he immediately taught me successful methods to introduce Lucy to new people within our den and Lucy grew to trust and love him quickly during our very first session! Early on in our session, it was apparent that Lucy was gaining respect for me as her pack leader. Everything from Pomeranians to Labrador and Golden Retrievers and every breed, temperament and personality in between. It's easy to find trainers but it can be really hard to find a GOOD trainer! Over the years, we've spent thousands on dog behavior veterinarians, breed specific trainers, and your basic pet store group classes. All of these can work for some dogs, but not all. We lost our two black Labrador brothers this past summer to age related health problems. We were completely devestated. We didn't know if we could do it again until Jack decided for us. Jack is a male Bichon mix rescue, but who rescued who? Jack rescued us - literally ! When we got Jack home we wanted to start out on the right foot immediately. We used two online trainings - waste of money and time. We asked, searched and found several self-proclaimed and "guaranteed results" trainers. You had a time limited training. From past training experiences, if your dog didn't learn everything in that timeframe you were left feeling frustrated and confused as to what to do next. Then we found Adrienne at Bark Busters. They aren't inexpensive, but when we found out they would be partners for the life of our dog, we were hooked. In over 40 years of our dogs and training, Adrienne is the ONLY trainer who actually knows what she's doing. Jack began training as a timid puppy who then developed into a defiant teenager with an attitude. Adrienne has given us the tools and behavioral changes we needed to make to consistently provide Jack with age appropriate expectations. We now understand how to think like a dog and speak "dog". Jack is becoming calm and confident that we are the leaders and he can enjoy being a puppy. Thank you Adrienne!
