I told him I'm not paying him for doing nothing and just to leave and supposedly talk to his manager. So he went outside and called his manager and then came back (tried re-entering without knocking) only to quote me $1,000 to take my table to the shop, which needed glue basically, and then $150 for labor ++. I didn't even pay that for the table. He then said he could try and epoxy that might not work for $580. They were terrible to schedule with. This is the epitome of bad business and advantage-taking.

I emailed SFS through the website on a weekend and Ruben replied the same day. He explained exactly what he needed to do and answered all my questions. He came to my apartment a few days later (on time!), took the cushions, and then estimated two weeks for the job. It ended up being almost three weeks but the quality of the fix was so good that I didn't mind (also he put in extra effort to find fabric on the cushion he could reuse, rather than buying new which would have cost more). I would absolutely use SFS again in a heartbeat!

I wish I would have received a little guidance from them on which hinges would work best because the ones I bought weren't compatible with the trunk, but the piano hinge they ended up using works fine. The trunk came back beautifully repaired and I love upholstery work. It took almost three months to get this piece back though. We are in a pandemic, but that's a long time for a repair.
