I want to thank him so much for his guidance, and his professionalism while he was teaching my son. Because of his guidance, my son passed his test on the first time. My daughter completed the lecture portion of her driver's education course on November 21, 2025. As of today, April 2, 2026, we have been unable to schedule the remaining driving lessons required to complete the program, despite payment being made in full and upfront. Students are required to log on every Friday after 6:00 PM to attempt to book a single lesson at a time. We have only been able to secure two lessons -- both of which required us to continuously refresh the company's webpage for up to an hour before a slot appeared. One of those lessons had to be canceled due to illness, leaving four lessons still outstanding. Since, we have been completely unable to secure any availability whatsoever. This scheduling system -- which restricts students to booking only one lesson per week and makes availability impossible to access -- is grossly inadequate and, at worst, deliberately deceptive. The chronic lack of availability is a strong indicator that this company is knowingly enrolling more students than it has the capacity to serve. This constitutes a failure to deliver contracted services. Compounding this issue, we have been entirely unable to reach anyone at the company by phone. Numerous voicemails have been left with no response. The complete lack of customer communication, combined with the inaccessible scheduling system, reflects a pattern of negligent and potentially fraudulent business practices. My daughter's learner's permit will expire before she is able to complete this course through Safe By Choice Driving, forcing us to enroll in another driving school at additional expense -- despite having already paid this company in full. Found numerous complaints from other customers describing identical experiences. Not an isolated incident but rather a systemic and ongoing practice

Her patience and guidance with my daughter (first time behind the wheel) has been greatly appreciated. The two of them really connected in that collegial "girlfriends" kinda way so it was enjoyable and less stressful for all. The course consisted of three successive 2 hour lessons. The first Saturday was 1.5 hours riding around FedEx Field in an empty lot just to get comfortable behind the wheel. Thirty minutes were spent prior with overview/inspection of the vehicle, mirrors, general road rules, etc. Second Saturday. On the road. Two hours of mostly secondary roads throughout PG County. Before my lessons with Mr. Ish, the only driving experience I had as a 36 year old was some parking lot practice, and a one hour lesson with a different school (which I didn't think was very helpful so I didn't continue). I took 5 lessons of 2 hours each (10 hours total) with him and found him to be an incredibly patient and supportive instructor. I had a lot of anxiety going into the whole process, and his calm presence always put me at ease and made me more confident. When I would make a mistake like making too wide of a turn into a streeet, he would point it out but also ask me why I did it that way. It felt like he really wanted to get to the root of the issue to help fix it. In the case of turning too wide, we realized that I was misjudging the distance of my car from the parked cars on the street. This thoughtful approach really helped diagnose and correct issues as they came up and it was so satisfying to visibly see myself improve. His approach to teaching parallel parking was super clear, and I was able to confidently parallel park during the test, and have now also done it in relatively tight spots on DC streets! He also recommended doing a last lesson right before the test in the Deanwood neighborhood (where the DMV test takes place). This was great advice, and Mr. Teddy accommodated me for a pre-test lesson on short notice. I used the school's car for the test, which was helpful since I was familiar with it. The day of the test there was a really long wait at the DMV and Mr. Teddy waited with me patiently and was also really supportive. All the communication and reminders from the school about lesson times, locations were timely and clear, Mr. Ish was always on time for picking me up, and it was just a seamless experience end to end.

I left the car clean and thought everything was fine. The next day I was charged an $100 cleaning fee. I called because I thought it was a mistake, but I was told I dumped trash behind the business, and people had seen me and recorded me. That was impossible since I did not dump any trash. My U-Haul was to bring large furniture to my new apartment there were never even any trash bags in the truck. I asked to review the footage and was told it would be sent to me. It's been four days, and I have not received any footage, just photos of trash bags nowhere near where I left my truck. I asked the woman on the phone to review the footage, as I was certain I hadn't dumped any trash, but she refused. I had to go through UHaul to get my money back, and I never received any apology or acknowledgment that I was accused of something I did not do and then charged.

There were no turn signals being used, Jackrabbit like acceleration, and swift lane to lane movements. This is exactly what I do not expect from a school that offers behind the wheel. Umacceptable. When your business is plastered on your car you represent it on and off the clock.
