EVERYTHINGGGGGG (you all deserve to be defunded immediately )…read more I took this class back in the summer of 2023, and even though I wasn't able to schedule any times for the 6 hours of individual practice with the instructor, they still had me complete the class like it wouldn't be a problem. Long after it ended, they never reached back out to me about completing them after the fact, even though I already have more than the required 60 hours by the state. I went to schedule an appointment for my behind the wheel test, and they wouldn't allow me to take it because the school didn't send my credentials saying that I finished the class to the MVA. When I got in contact with them about sending it, they made it seem like they would be able to push it along towards the MVA regardless. However, earlier today they COMPLETELY REVERSED what they said just because I didn't complete the 6 hours. Mind you, I couldn't even go to schedule the practice after the class ended because the portal automatically closed out once it was over. If you want to go to driving school, and I mean this with the utmost sincerity, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS ONE!

The two of them really connected in that collegial "girlfriends" kinda way so it was enjoyable and less stressful for all. The course consisted of three successive 2 hour lessons. The first Saturday was 1.5 hours riding around FedEx Field in an empty lot just to get comfortable behind the wheel. Thirty minutes were spent prior with overview/inspection of the vehicle, mirrors, general road rules, etc. Second Saturday. On the road. Two hours of mostly secondary roads throughout PG County. Do not trust this business; they tried to scam me, and I had to go through UHaul to get my money…read moreback. I went to Tag and Title Boutique to drop off my U-Haul reservation. I left the car clean and thought everything was fine. The next day I was charged an $100 cleaning fee. I called because I thought it was a mistake, but I was told I dumped trash behind the business, and people had seen me and recorded me. That was impossible since I did not dump any trash. My U-Haul was to bring large furniture to my new apartment there were never even any trash bags in the truck. I asked to review the footage and was told it would be sent to me. It's been four days, and I have not received any footage, just photos of trash bags nowhere near where I left my truck. I asked the woman on the phone to review the footage, as I was certain I hadn't dumped any trash, but she refused. I had to go through UHaul to get my money back, and I never received any apology or acknowledgment that I was accused of something I did not do and then charged.

Before my lessons with Mr. Ish, the only driving experience I had as a 36 year old was some parking lot practice, and a one hour lesson with a different school (which I didn't think was very helpful so I didn't continue). I took 5 lessons of 2 hours each (10 hours total) with him and found him to be an incredibly patient and supportive instructor. I had a lot of anxiety going into the whole process, and his calm presence always put me at ease and made me more confident. When I would make a mistake like making too wide of a turn into a streeet, he would point it out but also ask me why I did it that way. It felt like he really wanted to get to the root of the issue to help fix it. In the case of turning too wide, we realized that I was misjudging the distance of my car from the parked cars on the street. This thoughtful approach really helped diagnose and correct issues as they came up and it was so satisfying to visibly see myself improve. His approach to teaching parallel parking was super clear, and I was able to confidently parallel park during the test, and have now also done it in relatively tight spots on DC streets! He also recommended doing a last lesson right before the test in the Deanwood neighborhood (where the DMV test takes place). This was great advice, and Mr. Teddy accommodated me for a pre-test lesson on short notice. I used the school's car for the test, which was helpful since I was familiar with it. The day of the test there was a really long wait at the DMV and Mr. Teddy waited with me patiently and was also really supportive. All the communication and reminders from the school about lesson times, locations were timely and clear, Mr. Ish was always on time for picking me up, and it was just a seamless experience end to end.

I just finished a 3-day Administrative Officer training at this location, which is conveniently…read moreright off of exit 4 of 495 (across from Checkers-slow down or you'll miss it!). The two story building has a nice size parking lot and plenty of room in the training area. When you enter the building, staff is there to greet and direct you. Once on the second level, another member is there to show you around and have you sign in. Super friendly group of people there! The class was full and extremely informative...kudos to the instructor (Carol) for keeping us engaged the entire time. Each day during class we were offered a nice continental breakfast, a full spread buffet lunch that included different selections that was enough to keep us happy as well as afternoon snacks and plenty of water, soda and juice options. I'm not sure where the food was catered from, but it was good! Lastly, I'd like to point out the women's restroom. When you enter, you are greeted by 3 stalls...wait...let me say that in a better way...you are greeted by 3 private styled stalls. Ahh...this impressed me because I dislike using public restrooms...And even though we were all in there together, having true separation eased my anxiety ALOT!
