What a cool 'hidden find' in the Leander area! It's a bit of a misnomer to call this a 'flea market', but that's a minor point to quibble over. Rather, this is a collection of rather eclectic shops selling mostly used or refurbished items. These range from vintage glass and antique furniture all the way to collectible baseball cards. Everyone I spoke to at one of the stores was friendly and sometimes willing to negotiate a price on an item. I look askance at some of the reviews which claim 'I didn't get a deal'. You have access to the internet, after all. Even on your smart phone. You should be able to find out if the vintage item you're looking for hasn't been cheaply reproduced at Hobby Lobby, Cost Plus or Michael's. The facility still seems to be in development, so a couple notes for folks who may visit close to when I did, in September 2017. 1) The parking lot is a very rough gravel one. Drive slowly and walk carefully, there are ankle-turning rocks here if you wear heels. 2) One of the vendors was having serious issues taking credit cards, so having cash on hand might be a good idea. 3) If you check in on Yelp, there's a free drink offer available at the food trailer. However, there's no food trailer yet - just a well-run inside snack bar. They were kind enough to honor the offer for me, but do them a favor and wait until they get a vendor in before trying to use the coupon. A gathering of a few thrift stores, some more focused on refurbished or vintage-style furniture, and some with a wider range of vintage goods. Makes a nice trip especially if you're looking for the refurbished stuff! I'm a vintage toy collector myself so most of the pictures I took reflect that. read more

It pains me to write this review. I mean that in the kindest, most endearing way. You see Leander Market aka Leander Flea Market is one of the best kept secrets I have and after I share this with ya'll it wont be long before all of Austin is driving out to Leander to shop. The market is family owned (Mr & Mrs Dill) and has been around for many years however, when the 183A Toll Road came through it dealt this little place a serious blow. It wasn't too long after that the owner and a young man(Jim) teamed up to revitalize this market and begin to build something bigger and dare I say better then what was there before. This market is growing monthly and they literally have something for everyone. From the serious Antique collector to the young college student looking to furnish their apartment they really do have something for every body. This place is a treasure hunters treasure trove. When you first pull in you will notice several small to large size buildings, each of them have their own unique feel and vendors. Every vendor out here is nice and eager to help you in your quest to find that perfect gift or long lost piece from the past. If they do not have the item you are looking for they will direct you to a vendor that does OR will take your information and help you find the item. Their prices are great and negotiable. It's not like the vendors do not know about antiquing when it comes to their pricing. These folks know a great deal about the items they are selling and about vintage, antique items as a whole. They simply do not have to pay the steep overhead that dealers in Austin do. They are fair with their pricing and not arrogant or greedy like some I have shopped in. They are open from Thursday - Sunday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm HOWEVER, some of the vendors only open on the weekend so I think it best to go on a Saturday or Sunday and as you get to know the vendors I have found that some of them will open up their shops early in the week if need be. Currently there are no food vendors but I believe they are working to eventually add them so that you can grab a bite to eat if you need to while you are shopping with them. Some of my favorite vendors are Jim, Susie, Tara, Chantal and JJ. They all know a great deal about their business and are eager to help. I have also met other vendors out here who are also equally helpful and friendly so when you visit don't limit yourself to the folks I just mentioned. I'm excited for this place, I really believe they have built something special here. I suspect in the months and years to come they will be the hot, go to place to shop and very much worth the 20 to 30 minute drive to the north. When I visit I take the 183A toll road (go past Cedar Park into Leander) and exit on Crystal Falls Parkway. I stay on the access road driving North and it is straight ahead on the right. You DO NOT have to take the toll road you can use 183 so for those of you opposed to toll roads do not let this hinder you. Happy Treasure Hunting! read more

This place is a treasure trove of low to moderately priced awesomeness. I got a gorgeous 8x5 ft tribal rug from Cowboy Courtyard for only $60. It was freshly dry cleaned and gorgeous. I almost felt guilty walking away with that rug for that price. A couple other things I've purchased from the Leander Flea Market are petrified wood ($10), a handpainted Mexican ceramic owl ($8), and large amethyst crystals ($7). Not sure where all the super expensive things are supposedly hiding but I've never seem them. I've only been twice and I walk out with cool stuff and a lot of money left in my pocket. Like anywhere you go not everything you see will be your style but there's plenty to chose from. There are now food vendors. Tasty burgers and a guy who makes amazing gourmet shaved ice with freshly made syrups and whipped cream. No food dyes and corn syrup here. I also hear there might be a farmers market in the works! Local small businesses like this are really important to the area. I'm not sure why anyone would try to trash the place. It's pretty sad but I think Leander Flea Market is well worth the drive. The featured review for this place says that "it won't be long before all of Austin is driving out to Leander to shop [here]." Based on our disappointing experience today, I doubt that will be the case -- it's definitely not worth the drive. The place itself was perfectly pleasant. The merchants seemed nice, and the buildings and stalls were all air-conditioned and generally well kept. The problem was the complete lack of anything one might actually want to buy. Sure, you expect there to be a bunch of junk at a flea market, but you also expect to see the occasional treasure as well, and in that regard, we were sorely disappointed. Want an '80s JCPenney brand dehumidifier tagged as "mid century dehumidifier"? A cookie jar that looks like a Quaker Oats box for $150? Then this is your place. Otherwise, skip it. The most interesting pieces I found were a set of Danish salt and pepper shakers (granted, the plating on one of them had worn through and the metal underneath had rusted), a cool art deco chest of drawers (which was tagged as not for sale), and a pair of non-working Weed Eater Featherlite trimmers. Even the Goodwill Outlet on Burleson has better stuff, and you can literally buy it by the pound. read more

Not long ago I took my 10 year old brother to buy a wall decor sword that he saved up 100$ from doing chores yard work etc. The man who runs the shop seemed to be a very friendly guy, probably very popular with customers. Well yesterday the sword falls off of the wall and broke. My dad and I went online to see about replacing it and we found the same exact sword for 16.99$ brand new that also comes with a shield. The sword my little brother bought didn't even come with that and that owner said he was giving my brother a deal. My word of advice would be don't waste your money on this rickety yard sale of a shop. Check eBay or Amazon before buying anything from here. Wish I could rate zero stars. read more

I love this flea market! Every time I go, I find a treasure. Things I have found there: a large wooden toolbox which I painted and distressed and use it as a flower display, an old wooden oar which I use as wall decor, big wooden oxidized letters, set of metal planters, shabby chic console table that was milk painted, antique pulleys, and picture frames. There are stores that are a bit more pricey but even there I find stuff like antique door pulls. All in all, I ALWAYS find something here and the vendors are very friendly. read more

These 2 stars are only for Decor Galore. They were very kind and courteous to us on Friday, July 17, 2015. I called ahead to ask about wheel chair and even power chair accessibility. Darci called me back, after hours, which was great, but nothing she said about access was true. Not even the fact that almost every single store has single person mobility, on foot. And the floors are unpredictable. We tripped over a rug in one store. A healthy person can recover, but not those who would notmally use a walker or wheel chair. Darci, please do not tell anyone else that Leander Flea Market is handicap accessible! In fact, you may need to read on Texas ADA compliance before someone gets hurt. 2 Stars for the 1st 2 shops, especially Decor Galore!! The Truth will set you free!! With all due respect this place has seen better days I am sure. I went there last Sunday (Sep.6, 2020) just after they opened at 10:00am and there not much going on. I went through the whole thing in about 10 minutes. There were a couple of small shops but definitely not worth driving out of your way to. I am sure that Corona has played a role in their lack of business, let hope that things start improving for flea markets in general. read more

I have now been to the Leander Flea Market 3 weekends of the last 4. I have found some real treasures, including a refurbished lift-top coffee table for under $250, which is being delivered to my house today (yay!), and a framed black and white photo of DKR when it was first built. I have found everyone very helpful. Of course I have my favorite shops, but overall, I look forward to coming back and seeing what I can find next week! read more

Not really like a flea market just a decoration or furniture store. So if you are looking for a flea market this is not the place.

What to expect: a collection of tin and plywood buildings clustered around a dirt yard. There are maybe 9 permanent shops. Sellers who only want to set up shop for the weekend can rent a patch of dirt and bring folding tables. One shop is fantastic and just opened this weekend, with a fabulous mint green MCM sofa and furniture she repaints. If I go back, it'll be for her shop alone. Her shop is good enough that she could make it as a boutique; I doubt she'll survive long if she stays in this rustic outpost, though. Another one is full of the sort of good flea market finds you'd expect (good amount of junk mixed with a few things you'd actually buy). Two others are decent with a good amount of wares; they just weren't my style (too rustic or kitschy). The remaining 5 stores, well...I'll be kind and use the "bless their hearts" euphemism. I've been antiquing my whole life, and these poor dears running these shops have no idea what things go for. Think dusty, country blue, pleated lampshades for $10; the kinds of cheap glassware and vases and mismatched coffee mugs and sad old wicker baskets you'd find at Goodwill for $1 all marked $5 here; used, square-toe dress shoes. One shop had four generic transferware plates (marking: "copyright 1965") priced for $50. Oh honey, please. Maybe a whole service for 12 of those would be worth $50. (For comparison, 4 Johnson Brothers plates - the real thing - go for $10 on eBay.) You could just tell from the goods in her shop that she thought she had something really special with these plates, but didn't actually have any idea. Everyone was very friendly, it's just not worth the drive if you're an antique lover or someone who appreciates a little less "flea" in their flea markets. read more

I see advertisements in the paper for this place so I thought I'd check it out. I spent about 15 minutes wandering around and never saw another human being. What I did see was not what I would call "treasures". Everything was weathered and beaten to extremes with unreasonable prices for unusable goods. read more

I was expecting a "normal flea market". What I got was something better than that. This flea market has air conditioned stores. The stores and the bathrooms are very clean. The shop owners are nice and go out of their way to help you find something you might be looking for. The vendors are nice and eager to help. I think it's wonderful to see the Leander Flea Market revitalized after all these years. I frequent the market often and never fail to discover some forgotten treasure. Management is doing a wonderful job growing the market. As any business, it takes time and word of mouth to grow. Happy to add this place to my favorites list. I love to shop for bargains and always look to buy lightly used merchandise before I buy new. Lots of great products at bargain prices. Bought a dresser and bed for a third of what I would have purchased new. So many things to look at I had to go back again. It's a bit out of the way but worth the trip. This place is great! I was expecting to find a "flea market" but I found a lot more! There is about 5 or 6 buildings, thank goodness they had ac. West of Eden and Earthbound had a lot of handcrafted items and art work , eclectic and rustic items. Toward the back was "Lefty's" full of awesome antiques. But my favorite was Star Bazaar Trading Co. They are full of refurbished and repurposed furniture. They had some beautiful pieces! I cant wait to go back with some money! read more

I've only been to the Red Door Lane at this flea market. I've been looking for distressed furniture pieces, and Red Door has so much I'd love to put in my house. I was looking for one particular piece -- and found the perfect thing the moment I walked in the door. I found the prices to be very reasonable. There is also a lot of beautifully painted furniture, too. I think I'll be visiting quite often. read more
