We had Dan come out about 5 years ago to install a new furnace and AC unit. They did great work and…read morewe called them back this past winter to fix the inducer motor on our furnace. They did great work then also. They always dropped whatever they were doing to come and assist where we needed. We went to turn on our AC unit a couple weeks ago and it was making a weird noise. I called Dan immediately and he came out to check what was going on. He said we were low on refridgerant and that we needed about 3-5 pounds which was going to cost about $450 including labor. He also stated that we had a leak somewhere and that if we wanted the lines to be replaced he could do that but it would cost about $850. I was home alone at the time and told him that I would talk to my boyfriend and we would get back to him. In the meantime, he put 2 pounds of freon in that would hold us over and told me that if I didn't feel comfortable spending the money I could also get a second opinion. My cousin works in this field and they were coming over that weekend for lunch anyways (they live about 45 minutes away, so we don't hire him for our work), so I told Dan I would have him check everything out and get back to him about what our decision was. Dan got really frustrated with me that I was getting a second opinion (after he told me I could) and told me I was rude. My cousin came by and told me it wasn't our refridgerant leaking, it was just a filter needing to be replaced and the g-wire was snipped which was causing our fan to not turn on on our furnace. With both of these things fixed, now we had too much refridgerant in our AC unit due to Dan not checking these options first and putting refridgerant in. I told Dan what my cousin found and how the problem was fixed, and he got heated, telling me this was my cousin's problem now and that he was not going to come out and pull the extra refridgerant out. He told me I was just taking my cousin's word for it and that that couldn't be the issue. (Our AC unit is fixed now, so yes it was the problem). My cousin did not have empty tanks to pull the extra out, so we had to hire ANOTHER company to pull the extra out considering that Monday it was going to be super hot. They had to pull 3 pounds out of our AC unit. Dan has ghosted me now and will not respond to my texts. I usually do not like bad mouthing others but feel like this needed to be shared due to him trying to charge us $850 for something that wasn't the problem in the first place.

When I initially bought my condo, the unit did not come with a washer/dryer. My neighbors suggested that the best option was to remove my water heater with a tankless and then to install the washer/dryer. Not only did Dale install the tankless, but he also did all the piping and venting for the washer/dryer. He did a great job and I highly recommend him!

Dale drove down scope it out. He gave me a great quote, thousands less than a competitor and he didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need! It was a pretty big project, condo board approvals aside. Visit 1 completed the tankless install in 1 day. Visit 2 involved washer/dryer hookups and drilling yet another vent hole through 12inches of exterior brick. He also had to reroute a number of pipes to make room for the appliances. Dale and company were professional, and respectful of my property... cleaning up after themselves as they went. A few weeks later, my exhaustively spec'd and measured appliances were installed w/o issue and fit like a glove! I'm now running my dishwasher, doing a load of laundry and taking a shower at the same time just to test my tankless water heater. It wins every time. I've already seen mucho savings on my gas bill even though i've added another appliance. I'm so proud of how well this project turned out. One day, I walked downstairs to a decent amount of backup, so I gave Roto Rooter a try after trying a less expensive route the last time, and spending a decent amount to have my pipes rodded. They gave me an overview of what was happening, why it was happening and what my options were. They rodded all the drainage, showed me the dropping of city sewer and showed me the condition of my cast iron. Again, they reviewed what I could do to remedy and fix the situation. Due to finances, I opted for a cheaper maintenance option, to add an enzyme to my drain monthly, which kept the rodding fix maintainable. I am currently saving to have them back for a more permanent fix, but I am grateful for how transparent and understanding of financial strain they were, not pushy on which option I chose, even though it was less money. The technicians were great, very helpful and professional, did a good job of cleaning up - left nothing behind but improved drainage. :)
