This went on for days until I had a different company come out for a second opinion. The new company found that the Southport tech left the service cap off after adding refrigerant so it all leaked out!!! Southport had 3 different techs come before we got the second opinion....either it is gross incompetence or a scam!!!! You decide. I cant believe the level that they went to to try and get me to buy new unit when mine is only ten years old and worked fine until Southport came for the routine inspection. Thanks to the second opinion I have a perfectly working unit again.

No problem. Was then called by their dispatcher at 1:30 saying their technician was 30-45 min out. After 2 hours I called back wondering where our technician was and was informed he was 12 minutes out. A call in that 2 hours we were waiting would have gone a long way to a 5 star rating. Turns out that first call heating has a stellar crew and I am extremely happy with the work they did and the patience they had with my concerns. I haven't had to deal with new furnaces for a long time so they definitely did a good job on that. I don't know how they price compared to other shops because that's not something that you can really just look up or call and ask. After having a brief conversation with the owner on one of the issues I was facing concerning the warranty company he took the time to really break it down for me as to how they work and that my warranty company was the one that he chose to stay with. Over the years, he used to have a few others, but apparently they did not serve the customer very well (and them). I had a Lennox Elite installed and it's definitely a nice furnace...I just hope that it outlast the other brands out there. The warranty on parts and labor seem to be pretty comprehensive. What is also nice to know is that with first call heating and cooling, they have a very nice 100% satisfaction guarantee for the first year. The way that it was explained to me was if anything goes wrong at all, I don't pay a dime and they come out and fix the issue should there be one. I'll wrap this up by saying that when the crew comes out to your house to do an install, they are extremely polite, kind and very conscientious of what they're doing. I would highly recommend first call heating and cooling without a doubt.

He also mentioned that the furnace had just gotten to the low side of its lifespan and gave us the option of replacing the part or the entire unit. We opted to replace the part. Juan said he had put it into his office to order said part and that they would contact us soon to schedule installation and that we should expect it to cost $800-$1200 all said and done. I paid Juan $120 for initial assessment. On the 31st, my wife called the office for an update. The office stated that we opted to do nothing and no part was ordered. My wife informed them we did want the part and installation and was told that was fine but it would be $1700. Needless to say we will be going elsewhere to have this service done as this company is either completely disorganized or dishonest, possibly both.

They must of came free over time due to vibration. The only reason I found this out was when I went to change my filter it was wet. The condensation from the pipe was leaking onto the top of my duct work and running back down. Thank God my furnace didn't fail because this would of caused co2 to fill my house.
