    barramundi and pasta

A great date night spot. The bread came with two types of spreads; both delicious. The barramundi was delightful and the skin was very crispy. I could have lived without the fondant potatoes.

The ambiance was really cute. Our battery died for our candle/light on our table, but we didn't mind. The service was great and we were checked on frequently. The food was really good. Even something as simple as a French onion soup was really delicious! I got the lamb since it's notoriously difficult to cook lamb well and it was incredibly juicy and well cooked! The crème brûlée was also incredible!

Walked past this restaurant one day and it looked so cute, so we took a chance and reserved my birthday dinner there--I'm SO glad we did! It's so lovely and cozy inside, the wait staff were so kind and the food and drinks were delicious! This is the perfect place for a special occasion or just a nice anytime dinner. Can't wait to come back here again sometime soon!

French inspired restaurants possess a certain level of flirty vibes. We went to Le Sud for Restaurant Week. Luckily, the staff left Valentine's Day decorations during the event. This added to the quaintness of Le Sud. Joseph ordered the lamb cut. He said it tasted fine. I ordered the salmon with vegetables. This fine cuisine tasted divine. The salmon came with sliced tomatoes, olives and cucumbers. We needed our meal with a New York cheesecake. Delicious. When in town, come to Le Sud. Highly recommend to bring dates, family and friends.

My mom and I came back... finally, on her birthday, April 26th. We had a great meal, great service. Everything was AMAZING. Our waitress, Nico C., was great. Fast, friendly and efficient. She even gave my mom a complimentary birthday dessert. Of course, we'll be back. Thank you

This is probably the nicest restaurant in Roscoe Village. The venue is super cool and unique--really big space with 2 floors and interesting decor. Came here for brunch & was satisfied, especially with the crispy potatoes. Get the crispy potatoes! You won't regret it!! The egg shawarma was a tasty and healthy dish. My boyfriend and I both liked it, however, my boyfriend's shakshuka was not great. Not bad but definitely had much better shakshuka--we both agreed. The tomatoes should've been cooked longer to give the dish a deeper flavor. My mocktail, the green tea gimlet, was super tasty! It always fascinates me how places can get their mocktails to taste like there's booze in it. However, I want to come here for dinner to try their main menu to be able to give it a fair rating.

I always pass by Le Sud since it's on the bike route I frequent. It was great. We chose the restaurant week menu for Valentine's Day. Tye interior is warm and inviting and so is the interior and decor. They got a little festive for Valentine's Day. I had the French onion soup and lamb shank. Everything was honestly cooked perfect and balanced. The lamb shank meat fell off the bone it was so tender and also saturated with the right amount of spices to accentuate the flavors of the meat. Everything was great. Service was attentive, receptive, and friendly. Definitely recommend.

Mes compliments au chef ‍ .. Kicking off restaurant week at @lesudchicago was such a great choice! For dinner it was only $45 and you can choose between a small dish or salad, large dish or pizza, and dessert! The food and experience was incredible we got there right when it opened so it was very peaceful until the line was out the door because everyday they also have happy hour from 4-5:30 with tons of choices for food and drinks:) For starters pictured here from left top to bottom is: *Moroccan Meatballs *Lamb Lollipops *French Onion Soup Drinks were: 2 French mules and Italian Red wine For the entrees it was the *Mediterranean Baked Salmon *Rohan Farm Duck *Pan Seared Barramundi Second round of drinks were French 75's For dessert we have a choice of 2 and it was a salted caramel cheesecake & a chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream Couldn't compliment this place enough it was so delicious and we will be coming back they placed us in the sun room it was so gorgeous the ambiance was amazing!

I will be coming back again! We came here for Restaurant Week 2025 and got their dinner course for $45. We tried the lamp lollipops, croquettes, and lamb meatballs for appetizers. All of them were wonderful but my favorite was the croquette. For entrees, we got the goat, crab spag, and steak & frites. I enjoyed the steak & frites because the fries were super light and crispy, and the steak was cooked perfectly and served with a herb butter. My friends loved their goat and crab spag so I would recommend those! For dessert, we tried both the cheesecake and chocolate lava cake. The staff was very friendly and helpful when explaining what we were eating. I love the interior as well. Since we came in February, the restaurant was decorated for Valentine's Day. A great location for a romantic date or a Galentine's day event.

My boyfriend and I were in town visiting friends for a long weekend. I've been to Chicago too many times to count but we always stay in Lakeview East - which is my favorite neighborhoods in Chicago. My friends just moved to Roscoe Village and they love it out there - they talk about Le Sud very highly, so we know we had to go. I would make sure when you go on a Friday night that you book a resy - we had a table of six. We started with the Tirokafteri which was this spicy feta dip and it was amazing. We wanted to find the dupe recipe as soon as we left the restaurant. The service was great, I wish I remembered the name of the server. I ordered the steak & frites, the steak was cooked to medium rare perfection. The frites were ok, nothing special but nothing bad. I would come here again just for the Tirokafteri. Their menu had a bunch of items that sounded great, can't wait to come again.

Is the patio still dog friendly? I have reservations this Sunday but want to make sure before I come.

Yes. They have a water bowl and a jar of milk-bone dog treats.

Do they still have the igloos outside?

    Not at this time

    Has anyone tried the fettuccine?

We do not carry fettuccine during summer season

Visiting this weekend. Where can I park?

There is lots of free parking on Roscoe and the surrounding dude streets, you might have to just drive around a little bit.

I had seen it previously advertised on TikTok and decided it looked like a nice, upscale dining experience and the perfect mimosa-filled brunch opportunity. Upon coming in at 11 when the location opened, I was already impressed by the beautiful cafe inspired French interior. The warm lighting and refined Parisian details were so beautiful and elegant, and I especially loved the look of the bar, which is a central statement of this restaurant. I chose the French toast breakfast and my boyfriend got the steak and eggs, and we both had mimosas as well! My French toast was light, fluffy, and delicious, definitely a solid choice. My boyfriend was super impressed by the steak and eggs and said it was the best breakfast he had our entire trip! The food itself was great and I would love to come back and try their dinner menu at some point. The service, however, is what truly stood out to me in our experience. Our servers were very helpful, knowledgeable about the menu, and speedy. We truly felt taken care of. Fernando was the sweetest and most welcoming, and he immediately made my boyfriend and I feel so welcomed and at home in Chicago. We greatly enjoyed our conversation with him and he even gifted me a coffee table book detailing the history and menu of La Grande Boucherie, which was so kind and such an amazing gesture. Fernando set our experience apart from any other dining experience in Chicago and he made this meal one of our favorites!

We ordered the $195.00 seafood tower, only to find that it barely included any seafood, 1/2 of a lobster, 4 shrimp and about a dozen oysters. I understand that Chicago is not a coastal city, but to not even include an entire lobster for a tower that cost $195.00?! Yikes! The drinks are also very expensive, and we found the steaks to be tough and dry. The Niçoise salad was awful, and not at all what we expected. It was drowning in dressing and the combination of anchovies and tuna did not work. It was also quite obvious that the tuna was not seared properly. I did think the roast chicken was good, and the fries were by far the best part of the meal. We went to several fine restaurants over the past few days to celebrate a milestone birthday, and La Grande Boucherie was the absolute worst in terms of value and quality of food. They were also the only establishment that didn't give the celebrant a small desert with a candle to mark the occasion. Just disappointing all around.

For lunch, I ordered their burger. It looked incredibly appetizing, and watching the cheese slowly melt over the beef patty made it even better. The garlic aioli took the burger to another level and really elevated the flavor. I was so happy this was my first meal there because it instantly brightened my day. It was so good that we decided to come back for dinner the same evening. For dinner, my wife ordered a fish dish, I regret that I can't remember the name. In my opinion, her meal was even better than mine, and I have to admit I was a little jealous. I'm usually not a fish person, but I wouldn't hesitate to order that dish next time. The rich golden sauce was the foundation of the entire plate and brought everything together beautifully. I ordered the steak frites. The steak itself was good, but I was a little disappointed because I requested it medium and it came out closer to medium well. Since we skipped an appetizer, we had extra room for dessert, so we shared the crème brûlée and the soufflé. Between the two, the soufflé was my favorite. The presentation was unique, and I loved the subtle alcohol finish that lingered after each bite. I'm happy to say they delivered twice, both lunch and dinner were excellent. It's rare to find a hotel restaurant that exceeds my expectations, but this one definitely satisfied my palate. I'll gladly come back the next time I'm staying at the Pendry.

It was ultra-soft, with a minuscule dab of chocolate. The poached eggs were completely flavorless. They might have been old eggs six weeks away from the farm, I don't know, but all I could taste was the chalky whites. And by the way, poached eggs should always be served with a spoon without the customer having to ask. How do you eat poached eggs with a fork? I asked for my English muffin to be "burnt" (crispy.) They were soft and gummy, just like the croissant. And no jam or jelly was offered. The waiter was polite but inattentive. It's annoying to say, specifically, "I'll have two poached eggs with crispy bacon" and then have the waiter come back and say, "do you want sausage or bacon with that?" And like most restaurants these days, they've switched to that thick-cut bacon that can't be cooked crispy. The breakfast came with a very small side of potatoes, which tasted fine. And I had some green tea that was...okay, but not even remotely like the delicious green tea that most Japanese restaurants offer. I asked my waiter to clear away my plate when I was done, but he either didn't hear me or misunderstood, because he left the plate sitting there. Lastly, when people are eating breakfast, especially on a weekday, they usually have some place they need to get to, and don't want to linger. It took too long after I put my card down for the waiter to pick it up. Every one of these things is a minor complaint (except for the tasteless eggs.) But add them all up and it makes me think -- even though I'm in the area frequently -- "I'll never go back here for breakfast." Overall, a disappointing experience.

I ordered the Escargot and the French Onion Soup. There was also free baguette included at the start of the meal. I loved that the baguette had a substantial crust, for it was an absolute delight to butter it up (though not the best butter in the world), and dip it into the herbaceous escargot butter. However, the inside, despite its temperature, was still gooey/doughy. Too much crust or some other technical issue? I'll let those with baking experience sound off. Whatever the case, the last thing I want to do with fresh baguette is ripping out the innards and rolling it into a ball of silly putty. Now, for the escargot... ah snails, an old favorite, for I don't really love fast food (ha!) These were mostly good, save for two things: First, the texture was still just a little slimy, reminiscent of an oyster. 30 seconds more cook time is all they needed, a minute would be too much! Second, the sauce didn't do them any favors. I've had escargot in a rich, buttery, garlicky, slightly herbed sauce that was beyond divine. This dish went triple-overboard, if not more, on the greens - making it resemble a chimichurri rather than something turning snails into decadence. Now, we arrive at the French Onion Soup. The sheer amount of cheese was so excessive that I recoiled even though I have a line item in my budget for cheese. I fished what remained out, and consumed it only out of spite. Now, while I appreciate the use of crusty bread that didn't turn into soggy croutons, the size of the pieces was too large. I'm one who orders prepared food with the understanding that it is prepared and should require minimal additional work. Steaks that need slicing are exempt, soup is not. Unfortunately, there was one more undoing: while I can understand a less sweet soup may be normal variation in the recipe, one of the spoonfuls had something very sour, as if it was a large wad of sour cream (though none was present). This made were otherwise rich and flavorful broth less than enjoyable. When it comes to the service, this had some good and bad. It was friendly, attentive, and the food came out fast. However, an item of note is that finished plates were not cleared in due course. This applies not only to myself but also the stranger sitting next to me. Final verdict: I wanted to love Le Bouchon, really I did. I was even hoping, at first, to try more of the menu on a return visit. However, the poor execution across the board does not provide the confidence needed for a return visit.

I'll start with the good: The ambiance was the same- crowded and lively as usual. The service was good, and our server was trying to be accommodating. I don't know what happened between my last visit in December to now but the food was not good. I ordered a lot of the same things I got last time, sans the mussels because they weren't properly cleaned last time and had hella grit and crap in them that made eating them a nightmare. Steak tartare: Seriously look at my last picture uploaded of the steak tartare compared to this time. This time the meat wasn't chopped finely enough- the pieces were too big. The look isn't uniform. There's a layer of like cheese or whatever totally missing, and instead of serving it with bread it was served with salt and vinegar chips (which wtf? I actually hated it. The chips flavor were overpowering any flavor of the steak tartare.) The whole thing was entirely too salty. Again- look at my old picture compared to the new one. It's obviously not the same, and the flavor and texture were also vastly different. Escargot: Now after powering through the not good steak tartare, which was too salty all around, I just could not eat the escargot. It was WAYYY salty as well. At this point I told the server that everything has been too salty, she offered to take the escargot back and replace it with something else. We chose the baked oysters or whatever to replace it. Baked oysters: Yeah these were good. It's ironic that they were served on a bed of salt though. lol. French onion soup: This was as good as I remembered it. Thank god. The soup actually saved the dinner- I would've been genuinely upset if this wasn't good. Steak frites Manion style: At this point I was about to crash out. I just wanted to leave. I got a super burnt and nasty end of the steak as my first bite, and I literally had to spit it out. Why the fuck would you even include that in the dish? Just take it out before serving. And the fries had such a bad texture, they tasted stale. Really bad job. At the end, they brought out a complimentary sorbet for my birthday. They did the same for my friend last time I went, so funnily enough I even have that to compare. The sorbet was whack, couldn't even eat it. Last time I don't remember it being so bad, but this time it legit didn't even taste cold. It was like thick and lowkey... too salty. Lmao. And warm. Idk. Guys, I legitimately started to wonder if something was wrong with my taste buds. Really disappointed, and it was my birthday dinner which makes this experience even more depressing. If the last time I was here it was so good it made me come back, this time was so bad that I doubt I'll ever want to give it another chance, unless I really want french onion soup.

The interior is also very beautifully decorated, balancing classy with welcoming vibes. Their restaurant week deals are some of the greatest values in the city, so be sure to stop by while you can! The $30 lunch special came with 3 courses with several options for each. I opted for the chioggia & baby yellow beet salad, the salmon aux lentilles, and griotte cherry diplomate. All were outstanding. The beet salad was refreshing and the complex flavors came together so well- I really enjoyed the hazelnuts coupled with the ginger vinaigrette. The salmon was cooked perfectly with an extra crispy skin atop juicy, tender meat. The roasted garlic puree complemented the fish very well without covering up its flavor. The lentil and root vegetable hash was filling with a subtle dijon vinaigrette. My favorite part of the meal however, was the griotte. It was extremely fluffy, piping hot, and the most perfect combination of a custard and cake. I love the stewed cherries and that it was not too sweet. Will be thinking about this one for awhile! Wonderful experience all around- I will absolutely be back and highly recommend paying this spot a visit!

As expected, the restaurant was packed, both inside and in the beautiful courtyard. Families filled the dining room, with children of all ages at about 90% of the tables. The team at Pomeroy has been so consistent and professional, that all of our dishes were delivered at a perfect and steady pace, and qualities remained high. Although we got a different server each time we went, they were all very welcoming, friendly, and attentive.  This time, Carlisle did such a wonderful job even though she was super busy, and she wished me a happy Mother's Day several times to make sure that my day was special.  I must mention that the friendly hostess greeted me with well wishes too, and said happy Mother's day again when we left. We had noticed that they had replaced the couch in front of the courtyard fireplace with more tables.  Who could blame them when they had so many patrons to seat.  However, the courtyard still looked gorgeous. Now on to the food and drinks.  I had a mocktail Bleu 75 ($13) that's my favorite, my husband had a glass of chardonnay ($17), our daughter had a Le Spritz Strawberry ($16).  We shared an order of Sea Scallops ($23) and a Warm Tomato Tarte ($19).  I had my go-to dish which was the Mediterranean Sea Bass ($38), I loved the seared skin that was crispy on the edges. Husband and Daughter each ordered a Spring Halibut ($92 for 2) from the Mother's Day menu.  We ordered 2 Strawberry Crème Brulee ($28 for 2), and I shared 1 with my husband.  I also had a cappuccino ($6). The check came up to $283.05 before tips (they add a 3% surcharge to each guest check, which may be removed upon request, we didn't).  As always, our dinner was very enjoyable and it's worth the money.  I had a very happy Mother's Day dinner, and it ended a wonderful weekend with high notes!  We will keep returning!

Throughout the evening, multiple team members checked on us (not just our server) which gave the experience a very polished, almost Michelin level feel. The ambiance is classic French bistro meets old money elegance: dim lighting, romantic, and perfect for date night. Food & Drinks: * Sidecar cocktail: Excellent. * French onion soup: The highlight of my meal. Rich, cheesy, perfectly oniony, and honestly one of the best French onion soups I've had. * Steak: My boyfriend enjoyed it, but I found it slightly chewy and under seasoned. The creamy sauce served with it, however, was delicious. * Mussels: Large portion with great garlic butter sauce and bread for dipping. The challenge was that most of the sauce sat at the bottom of the deep pot, making the mussels taste a bit bland at first. Interestingly, the leftovers the next day were amazing once everything had soaked in the sauce...flavorful and delicious. Overall: A charming French restaurant ideal for date night with standout service and a cozy atmosphere. I'd absolutely return and would love to explore more of the menu next time.
