You don't want to be let down with mediocre or sub mediocrity in terms of food. This place really hit the mark. Like a total home run! Firstly it's a cracking good bakery with fresh artisanal bread. Secondly they do very high quality coffee. Thirdly they have sandwiches, soup and other great lunch items. My lunch I selected a seafood soup. It was rich, not salty and deliciously home made. Also as my ancestors must have come from the sea I had a Gaspesian smoked mackerel sandwich. It was one of the best sandwiches I've had in quite some time. Like blew my mind how good it was. It was tiny morsels of smoked fresh fish, thin apple slices. Shredded cabbage and a very nice light dressing. Holy macaroni it was amazing. I'd never think I'd have a smoked mackerel sandwich but I may try to replicate it at home. To round off the meal I ordered a capucinno and it was totally on point. Creamy. Piping hot and strong yet not bitter. To bring back to the grand ville I brought back two loaves of bread. Crispy, crunchy and soft in the centre. You would think a cafe like this would be in the Mille end Montreal or on Ave McGuire in QC or in SOHO in NYC but it's wonderfully amazing! When I Think of the options of coming here or eating at a place like St Hubert it's clear in my mind where I'd rather spend my money!

Having just spent 6 days in the Charlevoix area, this is really a place I wish I went to more often…read morewhile I was there. FOOD A Chacun Son Pain is a bakery that also has prepared sandwiches and other menu items that can be purchased. On my first visit, I went for breakfast and purchased an egg sandwich which gets toasted in their wood burning oven (which they also use for pizzas which I didn't try). Of course, since it being a bakery, I also picked up a chocolate croissant or two (okay, yes, there were two). Everything I had was good, the sizes of some of the bakery items are quite large, and on top of all that, everything is pretty cheap (considering how good it is and the sizes)! A second visit had me purchase just bakery items and a loaf of really good chocolate chip and blueberry bread (really tasty when toasted with butter). They have quite a few prepared sandwiches which you can get toasted in the oven or, even better, have as takeout. This is a great idea if you are spending the day sightseeing and doing activities (i.e. hiking in the nearby provincial park). While I didn't try them, they also have nice looking desserts as well (creme brule, etc.). And again, everything seemed really affordable. If you are thirsty, they have a full coffee menu (espresso, latte's, etc.). On the downside though, they do not have decaf coffee or espresso. This we found was pretty much the norm for everywhere in town. Even the local grocery store only had two types of decaf coffee SEATING They have indoor and outdoor seating if you want to stay and eat. PARKING There is lots of parking available. For biking as well I assume since so many people bike in the area. --- What else can I say? For sure I would definitely recommend it and would go back if I was in the area. The bakery items are great. They offer great lunch items which can be eaten in, taken home, or packed for a day of activities. All that and at a decent price.

As a sales rep constantly on the road, I am always looking to avoid the usual fast food spots one…read moreregularly encounters (eg: timmies, subway...McUnnnnghhhhh). This is the kind of place I like to find on the road which offers healthier alternatives: Fresh sandwiches made with their home made fresh breads... fresh salads that are pretty tasty, and their espresso is fantastic. I would have given this place 4 stars, but I find them a bit too insistent on tips...
