On warmer and not rainy days, a few tables are on a made do sidewalk patio. OA maybe the oldest pub in QC. ++. Food is pub fare. OA is known for their French Onion Soup and that's what I came for. They do serve draft beers. I was happy to find OA serving FOS as many places in the uptown didn't serve it yet ( I was told it's too warm .... Ummm it's 50-65F and rainy! ). The FOS was hot, cheesy and flavorful! It wasn't too salty and light on onions. I would've liked a bit more onions but very much enjoyed it! +. Price seemed fair enough for this hot and flavorful FOS on this cold rainy day. ++. Service was prompt, friendly and cheerful! =. Parking is challenging in this old cobble stone city. Obviously havent been updated in a while but the that's what all the good pubs are like :) There are 2 sections I sat in the back part, the front was filled with customers who had been sitting out under those umbrellas before the rain came . Lots of different sized tables. Ooh they have a shelf full of board games. Food: I don't drink but they have lots of craft beers and the couple next to me loved the amount they had on tap. When I first walked in the waitress walked by with what looked like a giant lasagna with salad and I thought oh I want that. When I looked at the menu I realized they don't have lasagna and I figured it must be the croques Monsieur. So that is what I ordered and that is exactly what came. It was very generous and full of cheese which was toasted golden brown it was really good. The salad was good too really fresh the dressing was good. I'm glad I chose it. Staff was nice. They spoke both French and English depending on what you were more comfortable with. I stumbled through French because I'm in Quebec I should speak French. It was a really casual vibe it was like a nice little oasis I had been walking a lot that day and it was just relaxing and chill. Would totally go again. I really like the food. A couple Californians in a big pickup truck were not greeted with confetti and rose petals by all of the Quebecois. Not to fault them, I'm sure not all of our predecessors left a glowing impression. Regardless, walking into Pub Dunn we came in from the cold, in more ways than one. A good bartender will listen to a couple of youngsters with a story and seem interested. Whether or not it's a good story is immaterial - with a great bartender you'll never know the difference. So, we decompressed for a while over pints of local beer and some fantastic venison sausage and pie, and, a couple hours later, crunched our way through the snow to our hibernating, rear-wheel-drive symbol of jingoism and imperial hubris. A week later we were back in L.A., where the only snow was relegated to the peaks on the horizon and the sand on the beach would burn your feet. At that point, I realized that probably more people here than there refuse to speak English, and random people still treat you like you peed in their Cheerios. And here, there's no Pub Thomas Dunn. We're less for it.

There was a jazz trio playing -- two elderly men on guitar and bass, and a younger fellow on the drums. They were rocking it. The crowd got pretty into it too, applauding the solos, swaying, and tapping their feet, without really getting disruptive. It's a good environment for this sort of music. A lot of jazz bands in bars and restaurants tend to sort of blend into the background, getting just a smattering of applause from the nearest table. It was nice both the musicians and patrons at Le Fou-Bar enjoying themselves. Besides the music, it seems like a pretty standard-issue bar. Not unpleasantly loud or crowded, even with the music. A bunch of beers on tap, mostly from Montreal's McAuslan brewery. The French reviews mention a large whiskey collection, but I didn't inspect it closely. I also saw a food menu, though I didn't see anyone eating from it, so it may be prudent to get your dinner elsewhere. The clientele seemed mostly local, and French-speaking, though the staff did speak more English than I spoke French. They did not seem to mind my non-Francais-parlezing ways. So basically, these five stars are not really for the food or drink or service (which seemed standard), but for being a fun, casual spot to listen to some good live music. I have seen reviews of this place where others have mentioned that it's not English speaking friendly, but in our experience that wasn't true. To be fair we did communicate in French, but of course English is easier for us to speak. Overall vibes of the place are pretty eccentric with a kind of rock and roll grunge vibe but they also had totems and other decorative pieces that gave a nod to Quebec's Native American people which was cool to see!
