The interior of it is very cool place

You don't wanna miss this place. You might have to look hard to find it but once you're inside, on a cold afternoon or evening, you might not want to leave.

We had the St Ambroise Rousse beer and fell in love! We had French onion soup which they are known for, fried Parmesan cheese which was amazing, and crab cakes that were quite good. The building is incredible, one of the oldest in Quebec. It had a nice outdoor seating area and the service was great. We went back twice during our stay in Quebec City.

The pub architecture was so charming

The fondue Parmesan. (Fried breaded squares of Parmesan cheese served with a salad) and the French onion soup were great. The cheese was so good we ordered MORE!!! The atmosphere and service was incredible too. Don't miss this fun spot!!

This is the coolest bar in the city. The ambiance is warm and so historic. We've been here several times, my husband couldn't wait to have the French onion soup again on such a cold day and it again didn't disappoint.

Oncle Antoine is the oldest (over 200 years) in Old Quebec City. It has the coolest French vibe with old old decor. The ceilings feel like a vault, arched stone bricks. We sat outside on the street on a beautiful sunny day. We stayed a few hours because it was so relaxing. They have good, wines & beers... it's a great spot.

Amazing ambience! Its a cute hidden pub open late in lower town. Great drinks and bar food. Great service!!

A little disappointed to be honest. The place does seem kind of touristy. The maple syrup whiskey shots delivered, but I wouldn't return. The place seems understaffed and the existing staff seems overworked. It took 15 minutes with me standing at the bar to get a drink. Friendly service though. The guy behind the bar was also doing the cooking so I felt bad though.

Bar area is the best! Great welcome and atmosphere! Didn't eat but drinks hit the spot after some shopping.

Great welcome and atmosphere! Service is excellent! Building dates from 1754 with the stone barrel ceiling. Maple whiskey was really nice; would go great with coffee or pancakes! A nice place to stop whilst shopping.

This is apparently the second oldest bar in Quebec. Very cool underground brick structure, cool place to grab a drink and a quick small plate. Our server turned out to be the bartender, as well as the cook. No complaints for what it is, great historic place to have a drink and snack, but don't expect a full menu of scratch food. That's not what it is. Good snacks , small plates, and good French Onion soup. Go for a drink, and if you're hungry, there are a few decent options.

I ended my night at Oncle Antoine and I'm very glad I stopped by! The interior was beautiful and unique and I felt like many years of stories were deeply embedded in its walls. Not a single other customer came in during the 2 hours I was there, which made me sad because I would hate to see such an incredible place close due to lack of business. The beer was great, service was friendly, and I enjoyed the selection of games to play. Just a note, like many establishments in Old Town, the bathrooms are down many steps and are not accessible for those that can't use the staircase. Big shout out to the bartender who helped my drunk self call a cab so I didn't have to struggle back up the hills and steps to my hotel!

    The bar area

I only had a beer here but the ambience was worth it. It's basically a bar in the side of a hill. Worth stopping in while you're walking around or shopping in old Quebec

We so enjoyed sitting on the patio, it was a beautiful day, we were people watching and enjoying the umbrellas place up the alley. Our poutine was delivered to the table and I can honestly say it was our favorite. The fries were crunch and creamy on the inside. The gravy was rich and had a deep flavor and the cheese curds had lightly melted. Every bite was perfect. The eatery and bar are tucked into a stone house that dates back to 1668, if only the walls could talk. The bar and restaurant feature local Quebec cuisine and is a gem. Then we shared an original poutine and it also was delicious- best I had on our trip thus far! I ordered mussels for my meal and a steaming pot arrived and they were yummy. Ambiance and service were great. They accommodated our awful French attempts. Drinks were large. Honestly, I feel lucky to have dined here. Everything was wonderful!

The staff went above and beyond, super friendly and genuinely happy to be there (which says a lot). They also spoke English which helped out a lot. Now the food... unreal. Everything we tried was bursting with flavor, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. You can tell they care about quality and consistency. The beer selection.
