I felt compelled to write this review in hopes that it can save even one individual from being scammed by this business. I booked a last minute/day-of appointment online at Le Petit Salon Curl Concept for a curl style: specifically the curly style/finish. Multiple times slots were available online and I booked for 3:15 PM. Credit card info was required at time of booking. An hour later, I received a text message that my appointment had been moved up by 30 minutes. I subsequently spoke to someone on the phone stating I had another appointment prior and that the 2:45 PM time slot didn't work for me. They insisted I had to make it by then or close to it. I subsequently jumped through hoops coordinating my schedule, rushed and arrived to Le Petit Curl Concept at 2:50 PM. I was taken upstairs for my appointment. The business manager - Teo Sorce - was upstairs standing about 20 feet from me. She communicated to the receptionist that my hair was not curly enough and they would not provide any service for me. At that point I said it was okay, I would leave without receiving any service. However, I wanted to ensure that my credit card on file would not be charged for a service I did not receive. Teo told the receptionist to tell me that charging me was policy and my card would be charged the full amount. I asked to speak with Teo directly and she blatantly refused and told the receptionist to take me downstairs. I stated I would happily come back when she was free or wait for her to have two minutes free in order to speak with me directly. I reiterated that given the circumstances, the charge was unethical. She refused to speak with me stating she would not be free at any time for the rest of the day. My credit card was charged - not once but twice - for the full amount. I ended up having to call my bank who removed the second charge and I cut my losses with the first. It is much less about the money for me and much more about the underhanded and unethical business approach that Teo is comfortable maintaining. I have never seen this level of unprofessionalism demonstrated in any other business. Unfortunately I did not read the reviews until it was too late as I see other people unfortunately experienced the same treatment from Teo. read more

Went in my first haircut with Teo. First red flag door was locked. Business was not inviting at all. Second red flag. She started ordering me where to sit as soon as I arrived like I knew what she was talking about. It was my first time in. Third red flag, she sat me in a chair and just started chopping away. Usually a stylist will communicate what they are thinking for the cut. Instead she just yapped away with every third word being a cuss word. Also, very unprofessional speaking about other clients who complain about her method. I think with a little more bedside manor she would have less complaints. Last part that was an unpleasant experience. She upcharged me and gaslighted me at the end because she said I booked wrong. Her website is so deceiving. She tacked on another $100 to the total because my hair was longer than what I booked. Also, she is sneaky with that 3.9% surcharge for using a credit card! Most expensive experience for a cut and color and I could have saved 50% going to my salon in Boston . Lesson learned. In the end I paid over $400 in a cut and my roots colored (no fancy highlights). read more

In response they charged me $112.00. After showing up in person they kept the $112.00 and then asked to charge me $112.00 again to book an appointment for the next day. The owner called out (privately via email) for a credit card surcharge, then impersonated a deceased attorney to intimidate and pulled the social justice card to justify. I booked a curly cut for medium-length hair online. The appointment was accepted, and my debit card was billed $112.50 - $100 for the deposit, 6.25% sales tax, and a 6.25% credit card surcharge. Sales tax is typically charged after the service is provided, so it is unusual, but you pay it eventually, so there is no problem. The problem was the undisclosed 6.25% credit card surcharge, which is illegal for most retail businesses in MA. Again, no problem. I requested the appointment be canceled and refunded because of the credit card surcharge. I expected that to be the end of it. Instead, the owner impersonated an attorney who passed away in April 2024 in emails. I believe the owner intended to intimate me by responding as an attorney. I knew something was off because the purported attorney's knowledge of the law and the tone of the emails were not believable for an attorney. It wasn't until she wanted to "emphasize the importance of supporting businesses that strive to uplift and assist those who may feel underserved, such as individuals with curly hair. It's crucial to approach these matters with understanding and respect," that I looked the attorney up on the MA Bar. The attorney's license was suspended for an odd reason - nonpayment of membership fees ($300). I have never heard of that happening to a practicing attorney. It turns out that the attorney is deceased, which is most likely why the membership with the MA Bar lapsed. When I told the owner I knew she was impersonating an attorney, I asked it to stop, or I would file a complaint with the Attorney General for the surcharge and post the email exchange online. I will not do either of those things. The fee was refunded, and I want to keep the name of the deceased attorney private. It is a chargeable offense to impersonate an officer of the court. It is egregious to charge your clients undisclosed fees that are illegal (there is grey in the law, but not in this case) and then pull the social justice card in a feeble attempt at justification, especially with a fellow woman of color. It is beyond the pale to impersonate someone whose grave isn't even cold, especially when the owner likely had a working and/or personal relationship with the deceased. I seriously doubt that was a random choice. To the owner's credit, the full charge was refunded, and the emails stopped. She did call me yesterday but did not leave a message. Please support another curly salon that operates above board and does not hide behind social justice. To the owner, if you harass me in any way as you have with other yelpers, I will turn the emails over to the Cambridge Police Department for impersonating an officer of the court. read more

Charged twice as much as agreed upon for an okay hair cut and color. The salon owner charged me twice for one visit and refused to reimburse me when I brought this to her attention. I booked my appointment online and was charged in advance for a Combo Regrow/gray with DevaCurl Cut ($165) and for a Olaplex extremely reparative 3 step ($120) . With taxes and "credit card surcharge," my total was $305. At the salon, we decided do a gloss color INSTEAD of the Olaplex treatment. Teo, the owner, told me the cost would be about the same as what I had booked online. Before I left the salon, her staff took my credit card again and charged $320 (only $15 more than the price with the Olaplex, so I thought this was the new price). I was later surprised when my credit card statement showed that I had been charged both $305 when making the appointment AND $320 when at the salon. When I called the salon and asked to be reimbursed, Teo first offered me a $110 credit. When I insisted on being reimbursed for the full $305 estimate, she changed her tune and told me that $600 was approximately the correct amount, and said they did not owe me any money on this transaction. Prices at the salon have since gone up, and when I asked to be refunded, she quoted me these higher prices. She told me the combo regrow and cut is $330 (not $165, the price on the day of my services), that the Olaplex Bondshaper was $130 (not the original $120-- even so, I did NOT have that treatment), and that the rest was for an "all-over color correction" (I had a gloss with color that would wash out, not a permanent color correction.) I had looked at the salon website a few moments after my salon visit, and found the same prices as when I had booked my appointment. In response my complaint about the double charge, Teo sent me a link to her new price list on the website, but I still have the original receipt with the cost of the services itemized and dated. It wasn't even a great haircut! For the next few weeks, I had to trim long thin tails of hair from my curl clusters that were missed at the salon. That was annoying, but really the worst part was the underhanded way I was charged twice what I should have been. I feel like I got scammed. read more

So I had been to this spot YEARS ago and forgot about it but when i went back the 2nd time, I remember why i didn't go back or will go back. Its a pretty salon. No doubt about that. It's clean, well organized and they require masks. what was odd was that they didn't allow me to have my handbag at my station (citing covid procedures) which made me uncomfortable as i was made to hang it in the back out of my line of vision. I wish I had known so I could leave everything at home/car instead of stressing about it. Haircut was OK. I did appreciate Kale listening to what I wanted and giving her own input but for about $150 (w/o tip), this is NOT WORTH IT. She left my hair 95% dry. She said it herself. some portion of the roots were not dry. I was the last customer for the eve so they may have wanted to close up but the cut was scheduled for an hour and she started on me late and then left me at the sink while she finished up another client so sounds like her problem for not having time to completely dry my hair. Anyways, so they make you prepay for your appointment when you book online. I chose the deva cut for medium to long hair for $115. They charged tax on that so I paid around $123ish BEFORE even showing up to the salon. The Cut for the long to extra long was $125 (w/o) tax and I figured, "hey, if they say my hair is long to extra long, no biggie, I'll pay the added $10". So i go to pay and the they ask for another $26 for extra long. Like what? The lady, who i think is the owner is like, that's what kale said. You're the bloody owner. You should make sure you're clients KNOW what they're paying upfront and NOT deceive them. Bad business. She tries to tell me the different between what I booked (medium-long) to what my hair was (long-extra long) and when I show her the online booking where the difference is $10 and NOT $26, she then tells me every stylist can charge what they want and that is the 'starting price'. NOWHERE on their booking page does it say "starting price". see pictures of online booking info. Absolute bullshit if you ask me and not the type of ppl I want to ever give my business to again. Be clear about what your policies and practices are and don't lie and cheat your client. ------------------------------------ ALSO, to all the curly girls in the Boston area: why do all these curly cuts leave me looking like a freaking poodle ( see pic). Was in desperate need of a trim, and this was the first curly hair salon with availability! I was really excited to try this location, and overall I'd say my experience was OK. I got a devacut by Kale. Pros: -GORGEOUS salon -convenient location -good haircut and excellent styling techniques. I really felt like Kale understood my curls and she took her time to style which I greatly appreciate. Cons: -$$$ Very pricey! Cut was $120 + tip -Staff wasn't super friendly. Kale cut my hair, she did a great job but was not very talkative. However I very much prefer this to Teo (owner), who was cutting someone else's hair at the same time and was non-stop talking at her client, using vulgar language... -my scalp was super itchy and irritated the next day (I typically wash my hair 1-2 times a week with no issues so this was strange). Not sure if it's because of the products used? I think Kale used bumble & bumble shampoo and ouidad stylers. I'm not sure if I would jump at the chance to go again. Wow , wow, wow. I'm not a typical salon goer, I'm a farmer and ceramic artist from Cape Cod. Generally, you can find leaves and clay somewhere in my long curls, but I splurged and purchased the big package ("the whole shaboo," as Teo called it), for my birthday this year. Let me tell you, this will become an annual thing for sure. The whole staff is absolutely incredible, kind, and welcoming. The gentleman at the front desk welcomed me right in and had a smile the whole time, despite multitasking on a busy morning. I was booked with Teo, and, honestly, I want to be friends with her. Actually, after the session, I feel like we are friends! I can get anxious easily, and Teo's sense of humor and welcoming nature put me right at ease. We laughed and joked through the whole 2.5 hours I was there! Not only did I get my laugh fix, but the whole staff gassed me up the whole time about my hair, my clothes, my skin....I felt like a celebrity. Now, let's get to the cut. There's no denying it, Teo is an artist and a master at her craft. She delicately addressed each curl, removing years of damage and drab. She was like a sculpter working on block of clay and gave me her signature cut, "the Brazilian Waterfall." I was floored by the experience. After the cut, I got a clarifying wash and scalp massage. Every step, Teo was sure to explain what she was doing, how it would help, and how I could do it myself at home. Talk about a wealth of knowledge! Then came the treatments. The aroma was perfection. After a bit, I was brought over to get diffused. Not by a big diffuser chair, no no, Teo gently addressed each tendril, drying the roots, supporting the curls. I was bent over for the whole experience diffusing and hadn't looked in a mirror since I initially walked in. Its no exaggeration that I nearly cried as she spun me around for my first look. I thought my curl pattern was gone. I thought I had waves at best and chocked it up to getting older. Boy, was I wrong! The shine, the bounce, the movement, the health, the CURLS!!! Teo is a magic maker, and I could tell she was as proud and happy with her work as I was. This is the happiest I have ever been with a haircut! I have wavy/curly hair but for some reason never actually went anywhere that specializes in curly hair before. This was my first time getting a dry cut and it made a huge difference! I am so happy with my hair!! Definitely received some judgement when I went in. I'm young, i bleached my hair on my own at home, not even the whole head just two strips in the front. Yes i understand hair stylists hate this but there is no reason to pass excessive judgement or commentary and i shouldn't feel offended or as if I am being reprimanded during a consultation as a paying customer. The owner also kept calling me before my appointment to make sure I would be on time, which I was. Over the phone and even when I arrived she kept going on and on about how her time is valuable and expensive, again feeling like i'm being reprimanded??? I didn't understand what it was with the whole speech and upon bringing it up she said in her notes i'm late all the time although that was my first time being there??? I was very confused. I think she did amazing work at the time but wasn't quite what I asked for at all and she kind of free styled it and chose what she thought was best for my hair. The color was honey ginger when I asked for yellow blonde. She also took it upon herself to cut probably at LEAST 5 inches of my hair when I wanted a trim. My hair was down to my lower back and I left with a curly poodle mullet that stopped at my shoulders. Color, although it wasn't what i wanted, was cute but the cut was hideous. I paid $1000 for it all (was charged more out of my budget because of the adjustments she wanted to make). I never complained about making the payment. But after paying $1000 for something i didn't want i was miserable. After sitting with the hair for a while and asking advice from others, I decided to message her and let her know that although her results were nice, it wasn't what I asked for and was met with a response of opposition rather than a "how can we fix this" attitude which I genuinely expect if I am paying for a service and get a result different from what i asked for. She brushed me off, told me I can come in and pay again to fix it, then stopped responding. I know her opinion is valuable and her results came out beautiful but again, she did what she wanted to do with my hair. Curly hair is already expensive to get styled anywhere but here it is especially pricey. Since then, I have trialed other salons since and have been able to get the same results with more welcoming servicing, in depth consultations, and for a more reasonable price. All in all, I don't find it worth it for me to ever go back to this salon. The first time I came here I was really nervous because I had a bad experience with a previous curly cut at another salon. I heard great things about Le Petit and the owner, Teo, so I booked my Deva Cut with her. Since then, I've been back twice. I came out of my appointment looking like a poodle and not in a good way. I got a hair cut here about 6 months ago. I went in with shoulder length hair and came out with a short style that can only be described as "old lady perm". I watched a few young women come in with shoulder length hair and leave with beautiful curls. However, I am in my 50's and for some reason, Teo thought shorter was better, even though I only asked for an inch or so to be taken off.- she just kept cutting. Le Petit is the only salon I trust my hair with! I have been a loyal customer and supporter for well over 10 years, for many reasons. The 35 years of experience in curly/texture that Teo brings to the New England beauty industry is unmatched, and I say that with ease. The knowledge of curly texture and top of the line products that she has alone is an education that she willingly shares with her clients, and the artistry she brings to not only the cuts but to the color is divine! Hands down she is a master colorist. I don't think people truly understand what goes into this work!! It is hard work and it is true talent that takes a lifetime of working diligently, constantly learning new methods and techniques. When my mom was diagnosed with cancer her fears about her hair and the changes she would eventually go through were so palpable, it left me feeling helpless, so when she would visit I would take her to see Teo. She brought my moms self esteem from 0-100 by making her hair look incredible and teaching her how to care for it properly, she always cheered us up so much with her friendliness and caring heart. That care was life changing for my mom but also for me as her daughter, seeing her feel beautiful and seen, and that came from Teo's genuine and sweet nature. She does not beat around the bush, and that's what I like about being her client. She's always been honest, and I appreciate that sincerity so much. I know that not everyone who goes here has been a client for 10+ years but I've had such a great experience for so long because of the kindness I have been shown, and the fun I've had doing my hair there for so long. I've been going to her since her old salon location on Mass Ave near Central Square many years ago when she first transformed my relationship with my own curly hair for the better. My husband and I have been going to Le Petit's salon for the past year. I've had my hair cut there twice and he, three times. Each time our cuts have been so good the growing-out period is actually still very flattering! We both see Kale. For reference, my husband has longer thick 2c/3a curls which he only recently started caring for with any real attention. Non-curly cuts have always done him so dirty giving him a pyramid look or super thick choppy layers. With Kale though, WOW, truly a flattering cut for his face. He was hesitant about going to a salon instead of a barber but the salon is so welcoming, kind, and friendly he raved about it afterwards! For me, I have in-between wavy hair (2b/c). Some curly salons really don't cater to the wavy hair side but, as I said, Le Petit Salon is just very welcoming! I absolutely love my cut every time. read more

I really really wanted to like my cuts here. I've been twice for deva cuts, both visits were about a year apart. I will start by saying that the place is beautiful, clean, trendy, modern, and spacious. During COVID, they took EXTRA precautionary behavior which I fully appreciated. The stylists are and have always been nice, although I did feel bad because cuts are scheduled for one hour and I have a lot of hair so the next client arrived on time for their appointment but the stylist wasn't done with me yet. In short, I felt rushed and my stylist exasperated because the assistant came by a few times and the owner also asked her because of the other client waiting. She was very obviously still working with me and trying to soeed it up. Now to my experience leading to the two stars. I came to get the same exact service as before, a Deva Cut. I remember this salon uses Deva Curl as their curly product which my hair ABSOLUTELY HATES, idc what anyone says, MY CURLS HATE DEVA CURL! I said this to the stylist when she was going to wash my hair and to my surprise it looked to me like there was no other option but to use this product. I also went with my hair washed and detangled already so figured a condition and styling wouldn't be a problem, WRONG! I was put in the hairdryer and my hair just did not respond. I walked out unhappy with brittle hair instead of just brittle ends, which i still had because the stylist used gloves so couldn't feel my hair. To end, I was told i should consider deep conditioning and moisturizing my hair because it was dry. IT WASNT MY HAIR, IT WAS DEVA CURL! All in all, I will not be back because i am trying to fix the damage done on top of finding a new stylist to cut my ends and help my beautiful afro back to life. I can not tell you how happy I am that I no longer go here. The result was fine, and I kept going for the convenience, but the experience consistently made me feel uncomfortable. In my years going to this place I have heard the owner complain about: her family, her employees, her contractors, the owners of the building, the neighboring businesses, the city of Cambridge, Harvard, and myself. Unless I was only showing up for a cut, I honestly never knew how much I would be charged when I went in. It became even worse when the location changed and the payment table was moved to the lower level. There's lots of great options in the area, I'd recommend you look elsewhere. read more

While my haircuts with Teo have been 4 star, the customer service has been repeatedly abysmal and I won't be returning. I made an appointment several months ago (and was required to provide credit card details) but unfortunately on the day of the appointment my daughter was sick with COVID symptoms so I had to take care of her and - given that the salon is strict about COVID protocols/mask wearing which I appreciate - I had to cancel the appointment. I received a rude reply by phone and email. I was not given the chance to rebook and my card was charged around $200, which is not cheap! I was really upset/angry about this, especially as I had been to the salon several times before. I took a few months to calm down and tried to rebook using the $200 credit. I received a one line response 'Unfortunately not!' Terrible customer service and rude. I know there is a language barrier with some staff so perhaps that played a role (I'm an immigrant too). I overlooked the time I was told to 'f@cking wait' when I was early for one appointment but the rest is just ridiculous. It's a shame because Teo is talented and does great work. The salon is lovely, they can really cut hair. The owner (who also cuts hair) uses foul language in the salon in a loud offense manner, without any regard for the clients in her studio. It's too bad because it's a nice hair salon with a talented staf. The owner needs to up her game if she wants to appear professional and respectful of others in the salon. read more

I'd been a loyal customer to the owner for years, at this salon and previous one in Central. I noticed a lot of employee turn-over but didn't think much of it. I then witnessed a really mean side of the owner. She treats her employees badly and talks badly about them behind their backs. She also became very rude to me personally. I can't support a business whose owner treats her employees so badly. Additionally, the salon is not upfront about pricing of their services. On multiple occasions I've walked out paying more then I was led on to what I believed I would pay. I do not recommend this salon. The cuts are fine, but on par with what you can get at other salons for the same price or less with nicer service! read more

After reading the reviews, I booked an appointment with the Master stylist. I figure the cost would be worth it. I had not got a cut in a while so I was excited. I walked into the store and it was strange from the start. I was sat in a chair, the owner looked at my hair asked me a few questions. I told her I did not want it to be short and it takes my hair a long time to grow out. She then walked away to talk to another customer. She came back and started chopping off my hair while it was dry and frizzy. She stopped midway to argue with a customer for 15 min. When she came back she continued to cut my hair.... while belittling her assistant. It was embarrassing. I reminded her to not cut my hair short and she kept insisting that she didn't cut off any length. She stopped cutting after 10 min. Her assistant washed my hair, put a boatload of deva products in my hair and put me under a too hot hair dryer for 45 min. When it was done, the owner had me stand in front of the mirror and asked me if I liked it. It would have been a nice cut on someone else, not me. My mid length hair turned into a half mullet/ half afro. The longest parts are uneven, the top of my hair is short and frizzy. and the cut doesn't fit my curl patten. So having searched for a long time for the right stylist for curly hair, I found this salon. Teo is a very lovely and friendly lady, who made me feel very comfortable. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair and she knew right away what I was looking for. She has a great understanding of knowing what hairstyle suits you, and is very skilled with cutting curly hair. When I arrived my curls were limp and lifeless, and she transformed them into a beautiful style, and the color is amazing. It's the best salon experience I have had, and I will be returning. Dayanne, her assistant is also great. I do not understand how there can be a negative review on this salon, as I had a great experience, and am very happy with the results. The haircut was great for me so I'll give Teo that much. However, she often would stop in the middle of my cut to talk to other customers. When I get a haircut I want the focus on me and my hair. I am sure other curly-haired people can understand how it is it to mess up. She has also bad mouthed other clients and yelled at her employees in front of me! An appointment would end up taking much longer than expected because of the drama going on around me. There are other good curly hair salons in Boston that offer a much more pleasant experience and the cut is just as good. read more

You can get a truly spectacular haircut here, while experiencing some of the worst customer service/hospitality I've ever seen. I'm a relatively new client as I have just recently moved here. I've been coming every 4-6 weeks since April. I mixed up my time for my appointment (by half an hour) and was met on the phone by someone (when I was ten minutes late but on my way) telling me they were going to speak with their boss to see what they could do and call me right back. Ten minutes later I got an email that the salon cancelled my appointment and charged me for the haircut ($110). I called back and spoke to the owner who was yelling at me the entire time. When I asked her to stop yelling at me she told me she was not yelling but that I had sensitive ears. read more

On 4/16/21, I had an appointment with Teo (the owner). I recently moved out of Boston and had always known of this salon, so I was very excited to be back in town for the weekend and get my hair cut there. The day before my appointment, I called the salon to ensure that I was prepared for my appointment. Upon arrival, I was rudely told by Teo to "leave" and that I would be charged the cancellation fee ($154) because it was "illegal for me to be on anyone's property" due to "Massachusetts state policy" that everyone coming into the state needs to provide a negative COVID-19 test at every location they enter (which is false information). I was further told that I would be the cause of a "$10,000 fine" (also false information). When I was asked to leave the salon, I did so, and stood outside in the snow while Teo continued to berate me for "knowingly violating Massachusetts state law." For the record, I did inform Teo that I had received a negative COVID-19 test before I traveled to Boston, and that I am also fully vaccinated. I 100% believe in COVID-19 precautions, and I followed all salon policies/CDC guidelines (arriving alone, temperature check, masked). It is illegal to charge me a $154 cancellation fee when I did not violate MA state policy or the salon's policy that is advertised on their website and sent in the confirmation email. I am fully vaccinated with Moderna and according to MA policy and CDC guidelines, I do not have to provide any proof of a negative COVID test after arriving in Boston. I also re-read the confirmation email that was sent to me when my appointment was made and it did not mention that I would need to provide proof of a negative COVID test. If it had been in the store policy to present a negative COVID test upon arrival, I would have definitely complied. I have repeatedly tried to resolve this issue both over the phone (Teo has not called me back) and over email. Over email, I was given a different excuse for me being charged the $154 cancellation fee: a "store policy" of "not servicing anyone who has been outside of the state in the last 10 days without a test, whether vaccinated or not." Again, this "store policy" is not posted anywhere on the website or in the email confirmation sent to customers. I also want to be clear that I was never even asking to be serviced (I have no intention of making anyone uncomfortable), all I was trying request was a refund on the cancellation fee that was wrongfully and illegally charged to my account. You cannot penalize customers for "policies" that are not posted anywhere for people to read. They need to update their store policy to require customers to present negative COVID-19 tests upon arrival, or make it clear on their website that they do not service customers who have been out of the state within the last 10 days. I have no issue with these policies if they had been advertised, but I do have an issue with being charged $154 for violating "policies" that are not told to customers prior to booking. I am not a confrontational person and am not one to leave negative reviews. However, I am completely appalled by the horrible customer service of this salon. After multiple phone calls and emails, I have yet to receive a valid explanation for why I was charged $154. I have tried multiple times to contact Teo and reach a resolution, but my attempts have been futile. I never wanted to leave a poor review of this salon, and actually would have not brought attention to this if I had been able to get in contact with Teo and rightfully be refunded. I feel as though people should know about how disrespectful Teo is to her customers (which has been pointed out in many of the reviews). I have am truly shocked by the way I was spoken to at my appointment, and the behavior of the salon owner since then. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. They make you pay at the time of booking and have a 48 hour cancellation policy. I had to cancel an appointment weeks before it was scheduled. I got a cancellation confirmation but no refund ($159!). Weeks went by, I inquired by email and got no response. It has now been months, I opened a dispute with my credit card and the salon has contested it. I am new to the city and was excited to try out a new salon that specializes in curly hair. I purchased the Full Foilayage + Devacut (staff) for a total of $455. I paid a $255.94 deposit when confirming the appointment, to go towards the final cost after services were complete. There were several instances of unprofessionalism with this salon after. My appointment time was moved forward several hours without my notice, so I had to contact the shop to express annoyance with the lack of communication because I do have a job... and a schedule. Also, when someone changed my appt time, they changed the stylist to Owner which is much more expensive (again not what I asked/paid for, and any associated fees were NOT communicated). When I arrive to my now 2pm appointment, the owner is the only person doing hair, is in the middle of working with another client, and does not address my hair until after 3pm. Remember, they are the ones that changed my appointment time to something sooner... I firmly expressed that I wanted the blonde that was already in my hair (from a previous partial highlight) to be refreshed and applied to my whole head because I was now requesting a full highlight. I said many times that I am not interested in adding or changing what I asked for in anyway because I have a budget to maintain. I was at this salon from 2-9pm for highlights, shouldn't have taken this long. The owner was oftentimes unprofessional with using explicit language and negatively talking about other clients. Also, she finished several other appointments as I patiently waited for her to focus on my hair. When my hair was complete, it appears to be just as it is, a typical full blonde highlight. I walk down to pay the receptionist at 9pm, and am hit with another $455+ bill. I asked why I was being charged as such and the receptionist stated because the owner did different things to my hair. I was very upset with how this appointment concluded. They threw in all of these extra costs for services that were neither requested nor openly communicated about. I will not come back to this shop. The owner lacks integrity and refuses to hold herself accountable because she got paid. Do not go to this shop if you want total transparency. A fee that stacks up on what was agreed to, should be communicated... ALWAYS. If given notice, I would not have proceeded with the services provided. read more
