The work is impeccable to a level that I've been stopped by more than one stranger on the street post appointment. They have fantastic pricing and easy booking but what really sets them apart for me is the personalized and comfortable experience in the chair. I've been in salons where you can clearly tell you're their hundredth appointment, they aren't listening to you, they just want to get it done and worst of the staff don't get along with one another. That's not ZenaRose. Every staff member at ZenaRose genuinely gets a long and helps one another out; creating a wonderful atmosphere to spend what is some times more than an hour or two for an appointment. I connected with Kelli on my first visit and no matter what time or day I have booked with her over the years she makes me feel like I'm the only client she's seeing. She is kind, fun and her attention to detail makes me feel so confident when I leave her chair. I had my first every professional make up done by Yuliya today and WOW! I went in with no pictures and stunned with the results. As someone who has never gotten their makeup done I wasn't sure what to expect. Yuliya made me very comfortable, most notably making sure to pause to let me blink while she was doing my eye make up. I hadn't even realized I needed to blink and she's pausing for my comfort. Will definitely be back. Last note on booking, I called ten minutes before they closed the night before I needed a morning appointment. Fully expecting that a Saturday morning in late Feb would be booked solid, I got a call back in less than 10 minutes saying they had worked something out and it's all booked. No matter who you chose at ZenaRose you're going to have an incredible experience.

I absolutely loved my hair and make up done by Anastasia. She did a fantastic job listening to what I wanted and making my vision come to life. I deducted one star because my appointment was for Event/Glam Photoshoot Make Up and Dyson Bouncy Curl Blow Out, but I didn't end up getting a blow out. She styled my hair with a flat iron but I was still charged for a bouncy curl blow out which I didn't feel was the same value. Other than that, I was very happy with my experience.

I have had them before, but at a spa/salon in Swampscott (had a Groupon!), and they lashes would fall out in clumps and just looked a mess. My first impressions of the store was - WOW, it is TINY! I wonder where my extensions will take place! It happened to be in a nook of the room behind the cashier's desk, but the adjustable spa bed was pretty comfortable, and although it was a small space, I was still comfortable! At this point, my eyelashes were very short like they were cut off because of the damage done to them from the other spa's poor work. Amy asked me a few questions on how I would like my eyelashes - natural? Was this a one time thing for an event, etc? I wanted them to be natural looking, but long enough so that they were alluring. Amy did exactly that! She spent 2 hours gluing eyelashes on each of my short broken eyelashes. Amy = eyelash saver. And the receptionist/saleswoman/cashier at the front was also SUPER friendly. Since it was at 11am on a Saturday, it was really just the 3 of us in the store, but it felt like the 2 hours was only 20 minutes because we were all cracking jokes, laughing and just shooting the breeze. They were easy going, funny and very friendly. 3 weeks later, I went back for my refill - the eyelashes held up really well, and the refill only took 30-40 minutes and the place has SO MUCH good stuff (skincare, hand lotion, make up, etc). Amy really knows her stuff as she's been in the makeup/skincare/cosmetic industry for decades, although she looks so young!!!!!! Anyway, enough of this. If you want good service, good quality work, and someone who knows her stuff in terms of makeup/skincare/cosmetics, The Beauty Mark is the place to go. No questions about it.

Her portfolio speaks for itself on her artistry in both hair and makeup, so I want to highlight the things you can't see from pictures: Fei is an amazing communicator -- she gives her opinions and takes feedback in a way that doesn't make you feel insecure about your looks and preferences. I had a bit of anxiety around not wanting to look like a different person on my wedding day, but Fei was able to help me look/feel like myself while still being beautifully elevated. She also had techniques for all of my usual beauty issues -- in particular, I have fine hair & not much of it cut in layers (the enemy of most hairstyles) and my monolids always give me panda eyes within hours even with eye primer. But Fei managed to give me my exact inspiration picture hair and her eye makeup magic lasted all night! She only uses tweezers, so you also have a say at each step about how your brows come out. I always get compliments on how my brows look after an appointment with Rachel, and at this point there is nobody else I would go to. Even on Newbury St. where there are brow studios a plenty, they don't even come close to Rachel. Note: She only accepts cash (or checks I believe), and while $50 for an appointment is pricey she is the only person I trust with my brows.

Covid has caused so many plans to be changed or cancelled, but, it also reminds us that there are…read moreamazing people that want to help others. My friend and I found out two days before her wedding that the MUA she hired, had to cancel due to potential Covid exposure. After the shock wore off, my friend and I were planning to do our own makeup. Which, would have been an amazing feat since neither of us wear make up...like AT ALL! I didn't want my friend to have to do her own makeup on her wedding day. She deserves to be pampered and not have to worry about trying to attempt to do her own makeup. In Yelp I typed in "Top 10 MUA Salem, MA." Suite Bella was in the top 3! After looking at the photos and reading the reviews, I sent out an S.O.S.!! Within the hour Gina (one of the owners) responded and said she would be able to do our makeup and she was super close to our hotel. The stars had aligned for us. Gina was kind, personable, professional, on time, listened to what we were going for and most importantly made my friend's day. Gina, I know Patrice and I said it repeatedly, but, we can not thank you enough. We loved our looks! We know this is what you do, and it was only two of us, but, to be able to help and accommodate us at the bottom of the 9th inning with two outs (we're baseball fans) - you were our home run. I was given 2 options covering all goals discussed - 1. start off with highlights/lowlights/gloss or 2. Start off with a gloss. I chose starting with a gloss. After the gloss was washed out I noticed grays and asked about it. It was then I was told, "a gloss doesn't cover grays. We'd be lucky to get 30-40% coverage with a gloss." After getting home I now realize the gloss isn't even and pulled reddish. I did leave without a blow dry out of frustration so in all fairness I'm sure they would have adjusted that had I stayed. But also, I figured it would probably be fine since it's a gloss but not the case. The manager did offer for another appointment with the owner or another stylist but I declined and they did not charge me. Just posting to help another person avoid this.
