Writing my review as I eat my food. Really couldn't wait to review this place. Ordered for pick up from skip the dishes. Was told by app that it would be ready in 20-30 mins. We were there by 25 just to be safe. My brother told me we were rudely told to give them a heads up that we would be late. Mildly annoyed since skip the dishes is a PREPAID service. regardless of if I'm coming or not, you already have my money. They also had my number as well so they definitely could have called. Onto the food, I got the vermicelli plate with minced pork, spring roll and the grilled beef. Honestly? I think it's the worst I've had in a while. How do you even mess up such a basic Viet food item?? Grilled beef was too dry, same with the minced pork which they gave us tiny little bits on chopsticks? Spring rolls were the saving grace of my whole meal and even that was border line. I was given barely any dipping sauce. What the heck?? UGH the homemade style minced pork is a no go for me. My brother got the house special pho. Soup was good. I don't think I'd go this far out for pho though. All in all not a good experience. read more

Affordable. Great taste. Love their Spring Rolls...it is crunchy and chewy. In terms of calorie benefit for workout buffs, go for their Chicken Spring Roll. Pho Special is good and fulfillng. Pork chop and chicken rice combo... both porkchop and chicken were dry. Thus 4 stars. read more

Oh how I missed this place. I used to come all the time when I lived closer, and it has been a depressingly long time since I was last able to visit. Boyfriend and I decided to run here this weekend, as we had a lunch pho craving. The signage outside may have been spruced up but the inside is exactly the same, and I wouldn't change it for the world. The tables are quite close together, but not obtrusively so. We ordered a spring roll to share, and they come nicely cut up into pieces which are perfect for dipping in the tasty sauce. It wasn't the most delicious spring roll I've ever had, but I do love the crispiness of the outside. I got a small pho tai, and barely managed to finish it! I love that they have size options here, and the sizing is very reasonable. All the regular accoutrements were delivered to our table promptly, which was great - especially the heaping mound of beansprouts! I love having enough that I can eat some right off the plate before shoving tons into my soup! There was a ton of beef piled into my pho which I took great pleasure in peeling apart to eat. The noodles are resistant and firm, and the side sauces really take it over the top. I love the flavour of the broth here - it's rich and there's a lot of depth to it that I don't find in other places. In short: this place rocks, go eat a reasonably priced bowl of pho of your choice and enjoy! read more

Excuse my language, but this place is the PHOking best!. As a self named Vancouver Pho expert as I have experienced many Vietnamese restaurants all over this city. Although I enjoy a number of them, LPS is hands down my favorite. Their soup broth is what makes this place stand out for sure as it is uniquely flavorful and soothing when ingested. The service is way above average - one time when their debit machine was down they told us not to worry and to just pay next time. If you take your leftover soup to go just ask them to top it off when some extra broth - they have no problem accommodating ! Must try the Saigon Roll (combination of a classic crispy spring roll and salad roll). I deeply appreciate LPS for their consistent delivery of delicious food. Tuesday night, miserable and dark, pissing rain all day - I had been in the hellish purgatory that is post-Christmas travel since 11 in the morning and was in a mood that matched the weather. I was absolutely frigid, drenched and in dire need of some piping hot pho to help thaw me out. Pre-Giants game at the PC my friend and I decided to try this place as we walked up Hastings and I'm ever so glad that we did. Service was super-quick and efficient and the place was busy. My friend ordered the Vermicelli and I was planning on ordering the "Special Beef" pho. Luckily my server double checked that I was okay with tripe (which I am really really not) before placing my order and instead steered me over to the "Rare Beef" pho. Food came super quick and was deeeelish. I ordered a small, which seemed pretty damn big to me (the large appeared to be some kind of turreen-sized monstrosity that looked about three times the size of my stomach capacity). Pho was delish and super savoury. I was expecting a little more on the topping side, but I guess I just need to bone up on my pho ordering skills since I am clearly not savvy. However what I did get was delish and i got no complaints. Would definitely hit this place up again! Also. Pocky with your bill! The quest for the best pho in town continues... This time, we decided to try this place on Hastings because of all the great reviews and were not disappointed. I had the rare beef noodle pho (as usual) and my partner the beef vermicelli with spring rolls. The pho is really flavorful with lots of noodles and beef with super fresh basil and bean sprouts on the side. What a treat! As far ad pho goes, this is the best I've had in Vancouver so far! The vermicelli dish was also outstanding. The beef was tender and tasty and lots of cut up spring rolls. Yum! I think we will come back here. It's worth the drive out of downtown for this little gem in Hastings-Sunrise. read more

Place is quite dirty... I've come here many times over the past 7 years. However in my last 3 visits, I've gotten horrible food poisoning which I suspect is from the raw beansprouts. I gave them chances after my food poisoning but 3 times we enough. Plenty of other Vietnamese places to go to that are cleaner. read more

One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Vancouver. With Pho Tam in Surrey being #1, I would easily put this place as the #2 Vietnamese restaurants in Greater Vancouver and that says a lot. Ordered the pho ga (chicken pho) which was perfect after a long day out on the slopes. The soup base was delicious and not filled with MSG. It's hard to find a place that does pho ga well and this place is legit. My friends ordered the pho bo vien (beef ball pho) and once our food came, the conversations came to a halt as we were each immersed in our own pho experience. The place is super clean especially when compared to other Vietnamese restaurants and it was quite busy inside (always a great sign). Will be coming back again and again and again. 5 stars. read more

I'll admit. I don't "love" Pho. There, I said it. I don't hate it, I just don't find that it always hits the spot in flavour or meal satisfaction. There's definitely a place for it in my eating world - cheap, filling, and usually worth every penny on a rainy day. However, I rarely find myself suggesting Pho or going out of my way to visit a Pho restaurant. Perhaps it's the many mediocre establishments that are to blame, or the cheapness of the ingredients or preparation that I'm used to. On a recent drive back into Vancouver, I had three others in tow, and we were looking to a very fast meal at around 9pm at night. If I remember correctly, Le Petit Saigon jumped out onto Hastings Street and waved shyly at us as we drove by. One circle around the block, and we were seated with large menus that had nearly too many options to choose from. The typical decor was clean and not too stark. The grilled pork chops, chicken, Pho and other items were all so good, that for the first time that I can remember, I was craving Pho for the days to follow. read more

I've recently taken to Pho in a big way and this place certainly does scratch the itch. I just love how you can spice Pho just right to your personal preference, for me it's when I feel the burn inside the ears. Unpretentious and honest you'll get great food and capable service here. Close to the Pacific Coliseum (short track speed skating and figure skating venue) and delicious. My only complaint was that the lettuce for my wrap was more on the yellow side than green, however, hubby pointed out the the lettuce was flawless. No blemishes or water-logged spots. Hubby's pho was outstanding- full of complex flavor and the noodles were cooked al dente. Nothing is worse than a watery pho with mushy noodles. Thankfully Le Petit Saigon didn't serve us that. My combo was large enough to feed 2- minced shrimp with sugar cane, shrimp summer rolls (they call them salad rolls), minced pork, kick-ass spring roll sliced into 4, and noodles, marinated carrots, bean sprouts. The usual suspects, except all crisp. If we had walked b y Bao Chau first, we certainly would have eaten there, but this was super close to the venue and the yelp reviews sealed the deal. Even if I weren't in this end of town, the quality of the food merits a visit despite all the numerous pho places in Vancouver. Coming from Houston, Texas I am no stranger to good Vietnamese food. Parking is a pain, but that can be said for any place in the area. The workers there all speak Viet/English and provide quick service; although if you need something after food is delivered be sure to flag em down. Saigon Roll - egg roll wrapped in a spring roll. It was good, but not mind-blowing. I would split this with someone so you can save some room. Pho Dac Biet (The large is quite a lot of food)- combonation Pho with probably one of the BEST BROTHS I have ever had. The meat was nothing special (otherwise they'd have 5 stars) but they did give a good portion. Be careful.. the peppers they serve in a small plastic jar are DEADLY. It was so good but you need to use it with extreme caution. This is coming from someone who loves eating spicy food. I would come back to this place in a heartbeat. I give it 4.5 stars and if their other dishes are as good as the pho, I will bump that Sh!t up! read more

The pho place that my out-of-town friends just adore, but I love it too for once! It's a small, friendly restaurant with delicious food. I'm used to eating things that have less oil and aren't packed with salt, so the pho they make here is perfect for me. They have really speedy service and a nice TV in the back to keep you busy during your short wait time (it's on the sports channel every time I'm there). I always leave full and happy :) Some advice though: if you really want to try the Vietnamese drip coffee, make sure to order it early and that you have enough time to drink it! read more

I come here every now and then and find that the service is hit or miss. On my last visit my friend and I had to asked for water 3 times and never received it, so we eventually gave up. Food here is so-so. I find the broth of the pho a little oily and after eating it I get super tired. My friend had ordered the "bun thit nuong cha gio" and she really enjoyed it. Fresh and delicious! Dropped by for lunch yesterday. Le Petit Saigon makes an impressive spring roll. My boyfriend, an expert, said the "best in the city." I was delighted with my Seafood Noodle Soup ($7.50) which included a generous plate of bean sprouts and more basil than I was able to grow this year! Adding this garnish to the soup was fun and keeps the bean sprouts nice and crisp. The BF had #52, barbecued minced pork & spring roll over vermicelli ($8.25). I loved what he ordered, as well, and will probably order that dish in the future. Very friendly and helpful staff, too! Do I love this place? Yes. I brought home a take out menu. We trekked a mile to come eat here, cause we were car-less for a couple hours. By the time we arrived, it was pretty packed with the lunch crowd. The service was alright, nothing amazing. But the BROTH! Ohmygoodness. It was soooo flavorful. I'm not sure what they put in it, but I've never had anything like it! I typically put sriracha and hoisin sauce in my broth, but because this one was so flavorful, I just had it without anything else! I ordered a large, since it was only a little bit more. I couldn't finish my entire bowl, so my husband had to. My husband and brother ordered a dish with vermicelli and pork I think, which they really enjoyed as well. Will definitely be back! This will be my regular go-to noodle place now. The best pho in Sunrise and only comparable to the one on Main and 18th. It's newly renovated and it's very clean. So the picture on this site needs an update. Rare beef noodle soup is fantastic. Not greasy, clean tasting, not overly salty or MSGsy like most places. Beef is very tender, easy to chew and not fatty. Sprouts were cooked perfectly, not wilty, slightly blanched with some body and crunch. Jalapeno slices, limes, thai basil and Vietnamese celery (?) were nice touches. Spicy noodle came with pork shank, very clean tasting, again, not greasy or MSGsy. Both noodle dishes were very well presented, too. Beef skewers with spring rolls came on vermicelli. They have the best spring rolls. Lightly crispy on the outside and meaty on the inside and so noticeably NOT greasy! Love the dipping sauce with minced garlic, different from other restaurants. On the side were sliced cukes and pickled carrots and chopped peanuts. Again, nice touches. The bill came with a package of Pocky sticks. Even the individually wrapped candy at the register is good. All very unique touches. Chopsticks were all individually covered in sleeves and put in a container next to the condiments and spoons. They take great care in not allowing dust on the chopsticks, unlike most restaurants. Service is very speedy, friendly and helpful. Only one TV but it was not loud. If you want conversation sit away from the entrance if the door is open as truck traffic can be loud. Decor is simple and not garish like most other Vietnamese restaurants. I came here on a Wednesday lunch (12pm) with my sister and my brother in law. This placed was packed, but we only had to wait a couple minutes for a table. We came during the lunch rush. About a 15 min walk from Playland and PNE. We ordered 2 of noodle dish with fried egg roll (1), minced pork stick (3) and beef stick (1) with a side of salad and a bowl large bowl of Pho. Noodle dish: The fried egg roll was amazing. It was flavorful and was fried perfectly. It was interesting that there were 3 pork sticks and 1 beef stick. I would prefer to have two of each, to balance the taste. The pork was a bit dry, and the beef barely had any taste. After pouring the sauce all over the dish, it added a bit more flavor to the dish. My brother in law, who is Vietnamese, said the dish was a bit dry than normal. I didn't have a gauge since it was not a normal dish I usually get. Pho: My sister got the pho, but before she had a bite, we had to try to the broth. Pho is mainly judged by the broth. My brother in law and I had a sip, and OH MAN! THAT BROTH WAS AMAZING. It was so flavorful, it was tasty, and I just wanted to drink that whole bowl. Too bad it wasn't my dish. Next time, I'll come over and get pho instead. Should have just gotten my basic dish. Overall, will be back to try the pho, prices are reasonable, not overwhelmingly expensive. read more

Have you ever had one of those days when work till your tank is totally empty but fail to realize till its too late then you madly run a Yelp search for anything edible in a 500m radius?? That was me yesterday , and I happened to be near this hidden gem as luck would have it. Ordered a simple fast lunch of a bowl of pho and spring rolls. I have to say that the broth here is definitely unique... More oily then most broths (don't be deterred by this, I had to scoop a layer off too)... But the taste -Mmm!!!! Apparently they boil it daily from a secret blend of herbs and use only New Zealand beef... Sweeter than most broths but hearty and delicious. The spring rolls were a bit denser than I expected, but still very tasty and fried to perfection. My only complaint is that the floor tiles are very slick. I almost slipped and fell getting to the table... Could have been hunger weakness ...:) read more

I think I'm only giving 2 stars this time because my beef noodles were clumpy and they really shouldn't be. Friend next to me didn't even finish her noodles and I find that their taste was a bit off too as well. However I do have to mention that their Spring rolls were good tho. Service is a-ok as the place was full and they were busy on the weekends. Menu items are standard as any other Pho place with bean sprouts, mint leaves and lime on the side. It was about 7.5-8$ for a small bowl of beef noodles. I think they may be due for some renovations as the place looks like its still from the 80's. Street parking available. read more

This is a wee little pho shop on Hastings serving up some wicked delicious soupy noodles. It's quite dark in the back of the restaurant. Sit near the front of the restaurant so that you can fully appreciate the whisps of flavour and steam rising fromt your fresh bowl of deliciousness. Pho is light and flavourful, noodles are done just right, and the beef is plentiful and tender. I always get their special spicy roll: crunchy fried spring roll stuffed into a salad roll, drizzled with a spicy fish sauce. All the textures and flavours and temperatures are a party in your mouth. I've spent a lot of time searching for good - possibly even great - pho around town, and Le Petit Saigon has impressed and still continues to impress me. The authenticity of the broth served at this establishment is almost as close as it gets to a homemade bowl of pho. Upon my first sip, I was able to narrow down the spices used. It was predominantly the star anise that impacted my palate, which, might I add, was quite a pleasant surprise. Noodles were not overcooked (thankfully) and the meat portions are generous. If you don't eat meat, seafood pho is available as well! Staff members are friendly, efficient, and constantly checking up on you to meet all of your dining demands. Eating alone? Worry not because they have a big screen television that broadcasts sports highlights. Le Petit Saigon has undoubtedly made my list of go-to pho places. I've only had the typical Pho here, so I can't speak to the rest of the menu. Its pretty tasty, they're really heavy on the anise spice. It makes the pho stand out from other pho joints. Its certainly not the best pho on the planet, but its well worth the cost. The noodles unfortunately are a bit gummy, and tend to clump in a ball that you have to tear apart. The service is wonderful. Everyone there is very happy to see you. I went in with a deadly hang over today and asked for a glass of water with the usual tea. She must have seen it written over my face, next thing I know she's bringing me my own personal jug of water. Score! read more

There's something different about this place. The soup base has a wonderful flavour - very different from other pho places. It seemed richer and with more herbs mixed in. My bowl of noodles was perfect. Warming me up on the frigged cold day and filling me up. There was good meat to noodle ratio. They were very generous with the amount of meat that was in the bowl. To start we ordered their spring roll and their salad rolls. They brought each of us individual dipping sauces without us even asking for them. The spring roll was nice and crispy and hot! It was fried fresh. The salad roll was yum as well, especially with their peanut sauce (which didn't have too strong a peanut flavour). Service was fast and friendly. If I'm ever in the area again and craving a bowl of noodle soup, I'll definitely be back. read more

This is one of the few pho places with an actual service. Yes, I've said. Most pho places, the service is horrendous. No smile, no real acknowledgment from the staff. Here when you order a salad roll, they actually give extra saucers with the sauce for everyone at the table. I've never been to a restaurant that does this. A little detail like that makes people come back. And their food is pretty good too. It's not my favourite pho place but a hot steaming bowl of pho is pretty delicious and so is their salad and spring rolls. This place is always packed. Great food. Great prices. Try the coffee with cream on ice. Living downtown, we miss out on the all the great places to eat in east van. I for one find it a trek to leave my downtown bubble, but when I do venture out, I am never disappointed. The service at this place is super quick, you can easily have your food ordered, and you can eat and be outta here in 30 minutes or less. The time you spend is the time it takes you to inhale food. I generally don't expect impecable service and attention at a Pho restaurant, but then again I've never been to Le Petit Saigon. Aside from the great service, they also have clean washrooms, Where am i??? The food is slightly better than you'd expect but the prices are still what you expect. Just your typical looking Vietnamese Pho restaurant but the food was quite tasty. We had the seafood with egg noodle (dry), #10 combo and my kid had the beef ball pho. The egg noodle was cooked to perfection... firm & al dente with lots of protein. The combo #10 was full of protein as you can see (pic attached) and was really tasty. The beef ball pho was also loaded with protein. What more can I say. If you love your protein, this is the place to go! read more

My favourite Vietnamese restaurant hands down.... Always go for the spring rolls, best in town in my humble opinion. But the salad rolls are really nice too, and the Pho is deep in flavours and healthy portion sizes. I'm not sure how one could even finish a large to themselves... Not bad compared to the other places around here. The meat quality provided in the pho is surprisingly pretty good. The only down fall is that the broth is extremely sweet. The service is hit or miss and I noticed the younger waitresses are more friendly. Lots of food choices to pick from. read more
