The famous Crazy Pot
Evan R.

Mini Palais is an unfair name for this place...since you're EATING IN A GIANT PALACE. I came here with my family and some old friends as a reunion dinner and we were in awe from start to finish. We sat on the palace grounds under spotlit marble statues, facing the Seine. We were eating on the early side for Paris (7 PM) so there were few other diners and service was impeccable. I started with the salmon fume, which came with an entire plate of salmon and a tzatziki and mint garnish. Fantastic. For dinner, I (and most others) got the tamarind-crusted pearl cod. The fish was light and was bathed in a broth that tasted like everything from lemon to ginger..and perfectly complemented the dish. For dessert, I had a baked fig thing that was very very good, but I'm not sure why I ordered it since I don't find figs exciting. I did love the ice cream that came with it. Others get the Crazy Pot, which is a giant tub/vase full of ice cream. It's absurdly large and a funny dessert for a grown man to order, but I watched it happen. Pictures will be uploaded shortly. This was the epitome of fine dining and I would definitely be back. As long as someone else is paying.

If you have the dough, this is a definite MUST. Customer service= typical 'French" style...a little lacking but better than your average Parisian restaurant. The GM checked in with us 3-4 times in the 3 hours we were here, I loved that! Ambiance= cool light art instead of boring/snobby art. High ceilings, and romantic. A little noisy because of the ceilings, but not too noticeable. Location: right off the Champs Elysee, sitting snug next to to the Grand Palais. Wonderful views of this gorgeous building and literally a stones throw from la seine...with a breathtaking view of the Eiffel tower. Was the perfect place to mosey over to after dinner for a romantic make out session. Food= WOW. The best risotto I've had in my life! I know, I know...it's risotto. But seriously, everything this place brings you is top notch, from the cheesy 'muffin' bread and jar of mini baguettes and various french breads as soon as you sit down, to your drinks and dinner. Quality is the best, and food is created and cooked with absolute love. Even a simple plate of risotto made my experience in Paris food totally complete. We ended up spending a little over 100 Euro for two and we had drinks, entrees, and shared a dessert. The food is rich, so I am really happy we skipped the appetizers, although they looked wonderful coming out of the kitchen. Tres Tres bon!

This very classy brasserie first caught my eye a few months ago while reading a NY Times article regarding various brasseries in Paris. I dined at many restaurants during my trip and my time here was particularly memorable because it was the most glitzy and the largest one of the bunch. I have to admit, I felt like an important VIP while sitting at the bar and drinking my wine and eating my steak tartare. I say this place is glitzy because it's located inside an old museum (it's inside the Le Grand Palais museum with its own separate entrance). So its walls are tall and the space is very open. Unfortunately I visited during the winter time. I say unfortunately because I understand dining on the outdoor patio during the summer time is an exhilarating experience. I ordered from their bar menu (they were in between lunch and dinner around 3:00 PM) and like I said I sat at the bar. Verdict of my steak tartare? I wasn't a fan of it. It's basically raw ground beef. However I'm glad I tried it and it definitely satisfied my appetite after a busy morning of walking around the Louvre. All in all, my visit was a very pleasant experience. Prices are a little bit on the high side, so I would recommend grabbing lunch or ordering from the bar menu if you want to keep costs down. Also don't worry if you're a local or a tourist, there was a good mix of both when I visited. Oh and by the way, if you see him say hello to the resident black cat for me.

Beautiful atmosphere and great drinks. This place has a very classy overtone and is beautifully with soft lighting. Unfortunately, we had just finished dinner at another Restaurnt and only had drinks here. The drinks are strong and impactful. I highly recommend this place for couples because of its intimate and romantic setting.

I was so happy we stumbled upon this! There is a dress code so prepare. But luckily they felt bad for us, since we just stumbled onto it after a day in the city. Everything we had, drinks included was delicious. Service was on point DJ Disliked- Disliked- Disliked- Disliked- Disliked- Disliked- Where was coat check? lol There is a dining room for full dining and the rest of the space is for vibing and grabbing drinks... but I had nowhere to put my coat! Lol Of course not a deal breaker just preference. And maybe if you're familiar with the spot you'll dress accordingly. But.. because the spaces by the bar can get tight.. this was a bit of a struggle

A special mocktail menu, delicious appetizers (I got the carpaccio, my girlfriend doesn't like salad and we destroyed it). Side bread was delicious. Great dinner menu, we got the lamb and ribeye steak. The lamb is to die for, the steak was immaculate, side sauce was incredible and unique. The mashed potato's that come with the lamb were unique as well, and some of the best mashed potato's we've ever had. The ambience and environment was amazing too, great decor, romantic and playful, but also artistic. Music was spot on and a good vibe. Service was professional, food was spaced out properly and patiently. The waiters were very kind and helped us order by recommending popular items and catered it to our preferences. Mohammad specifically was amazing, but all of the staff were great, you can tell they care about what they do and do it with passion. Huge shoutout to the chef here, it's one thing to make delicious food, another to make it unique like no other at the same time, all while catering the experience to a modern Muslim culture and capturing the excellence of French cuisine.

I came here just for the cordon bleu and it was absolutely delicious. I guess a traditional French cordon bleu wouldn't be very flavorful but this WAS, from the sauce to the garnishings and the cheese sauce on the inside. The potatoes it was served with were also extremely well seasoned. We also got a complimentary mint tea!

Then when you check in, they'll walk you to your seat, where you're immediately transported to a Parisian movie from the twenties. It's a wood paneled intimate bar with limited seating, and it's easy to pretend that Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald are among the customers there too. They had an impressive lineup of signature cocktails, but in a rare flash of memory from English Lit 101, I felt compelled to channel Hemingway's Jake Barnes in The Sun Also Rises, and chose Champagne instead. As expected the service was flawless. Immediately upon being seated, a young lady brought us olives and mix nuts in a divided dish. The waiter soon followed to take our initial order. Pro tip- They open at 5 pm so get there 10-15 minutes before to stand in line. We got there at 4:45 and there were several people ahead of us. It's a small intimate bar that only seats about 20 something people and it filled up within minutes after we were seated. We saw multiple people getting turned away and when we left, there was a long line at the door. Cheers!!

So the little red door has a cute red door but the bouncer lets you in through another door (novelty observed haha). The man takes your jacket and umbrella (what a gentleman!) and sat us on the second floor. While the space between the couch and the seats were rather small, we were able to manage. I got the permaculture and resilience. The resilience is a club favorite and my favorite too! The way the sorghum, pineapple sage (syrup), pasquet cognac, and savanna rum all tied together was a blessing. I was going to get a third but I was tipsy by my second drink. My first drink was the permaculture and while I was considered it would be strong, it didn't seem strong to me. I love clarified dairy in alcohol so this was a win in my book. It consists of chestnut, butter, wakaze umeshu, avallen Calvados. The bar let's you stay for an hour but if you sit elsewhere, you can stay as long as you want. 5 stars and I hope to come back someday!
